The Gala Premiere of "Brave" Movie

Sunday is a movie day.
Met up with GF for movie. It's been a long time since the two of us went out together, I mean just the two of us.

And yes, we are watching Disney • Pixar’s BRAVE.

So before the start of the movie, we went for some photo-taking session of at the "BRAVE" activities corner.
This poster was so cute - Merida with the 3 cute bear cubs.

Couldn't resist to take picture of every poster that were being displayed.

Spotted the real life Merida.
Nah, he was actually the crew over there.

Passionate and fiery, Merida is a headstrong teenager of royal upbringing who is struggling to take control of her own destiny. She feels most at home in the outdoors honing her impressive athletic skills as an archer and swordfighter, and racing across the magnificent Highland countryside with her faithful horse, Angus.

With a spirit as vibrant as her untamed hair, Merida also has a softness of heart, especially when it comes to her wee triplet brothers. As the daughter of the King and Queen, her life is weighted with responsibilities and expectations, causing her to yearn to preserve her freedom and independence.

When Merida blatantly defies an ancient tradition, the consequences of her actions prove disastrous for the kingdom. She must race against time to make right the result of her reckless behavior, her journey compelling her to look inside to discover the meaning of bravery and reveal her true fate.

With GF. I looked so cui without any makeup.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin, surly Lord Macintosh and cantankerous Lord Dingwall. Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it's too late.

Rating of the movie: 4/5

Brave is an entertaining and yet meaningful film. Pixar film is never disappointing. I'm so glad that I did not apply any makeup because I teared while watching the film. The focus of the mother-daughter bond touched my heart. Often at times, we faced in the same situation of having misunderstandings and conflicts with our parents. The movie taught us a good lesson of effective communication. Though we should always listen to what our parents say, but parents should also listen to what their children have to say in order to know what we are actually thinking about. Communication is not just a one-way process, it is a two-way communication.

Do catch Disney • Pixar’s BRAVE in cinemas this 8 August 2012.

"Fate be changed, look inside, mend the bond torn by pride."
