Movie Review: Hotel Transylvania 2

Monday is always tough for me because it marks the start of a brand new week and I have to go back to work. To brighten up my Monday, I treated myself for a movie. It was almost 2 months since I last went for a movie in cinema. I need some rewards to keep me going and endure the week.

Despite the heavy rain, we went down to Golden Village @ Plaza Singapura for the show. When selecting the movie to watch, Hotel Transylvania 2 caught my eyes. I like animated movie.

Hotel Transylvania 2 is back for an all-new monster comedy adventure. Everything seems to be changing for the better at Hotel Transylvania. Dracula’s rigid monster-only hotel policy has finally relaxed, opening up its doors to human guests. His vampire daughter, Mavis, married a human guy, Johnny. They lived together in harmony at Hotel Transylvania 2. Mavis then gave birth to a adorable half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis.

Dennis didn't seem to have vampire abilities. If he did not show signs of being a vampire by the age of 5, he will be a truly human. The thought that his grandson may not be a vampire worried Dracula. Meanwhile, Mavis was very protective of Dennis, she wanted Dennis to grow up like a normal kids and let nature takes it course.

To prevent her father from meddling, Mavis went to California with Johnny to visit her human-in-laws and considering moving there. While Mavis was away, “Vampa” Drac enlists his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to put Dennis through a “monster-in-training” boot camp to draw out the Dennis's vampire abilities.

Dennis's favourite character was Batman, he hope to fly like a Batman.
“Vampa” Drac hope that Dennis is a late fanger just like him.

But little do they know that Drac’s grumpy and very old, old, old school dad Vlad was about to pay a family visit to the hotel. And when Vlad finds out that his great-grandson is not a pure blood—and humans are now welcome at Hotel Transylvania—things are going to get batty!

Shall not be a spoiler and tell you the remaining parts of the story.

I give Hotel Transylvania 2 a 3.5 rating. The movie was injected with lots of humorous scenes, we were constantly laughing our heart out. It also emphasize on kinship, our family members are always the one that truly care for us and want the best for you. I was on the verge of tears by some of the heart warming scenes from the movie.

The movie was released on 24 September 2015. If you want to have a good laugh, this is the movie you must watch.
