Alfero Artisan Gelato - Italian Gelato Tasting

Having a sweet tooth, dessert is something I look forward to after a hearty meal. A girl's meal will never be complete without dessert and gelato is always on my top list.

Together with my lovely girlfriends, we embarked on a gelato tasting at Alfero Gelato @ MacPherson Lane, 10 minutes walk from Tai Seng MRT station.

Being located just below the block of housing estates, Alfero Gelato attracted many families and students staying nearby here for a sweet chill out after school or after dinner. For those who are staying far, do not feel disappointed because Alfero Gelato has another retail outlet at Orchard Gateway.

The name 'Alfero Gelato' is named after the owner, Marco Alfero.

Alfero Artisan Gelato brings Singapore the real experience of homemade Italian gelato produced with the best quality of imported ingredients, with freshness and taste guaranteed. Even the Godfather loves it!

Alfero Artisan Gelato has won numerous awards which include 'Best Ice Cream Parlour' and 'Best Gelato Cafe of the year'.

The main difference between gelato and ice-cream is fats content and texture.
The fats content for gelato is less than 10% while the fats content of ice-cream is usually between 18% to 30%.
The texture of gelato is very creamy and smooth while the texture of ice-cream is hard.

When we approached the counter, we noted the gelato was all kept inside a POZZETTO cabinet. By keeping them in a fully covered cabinet, it helped to preserve the perfect texture and smoothness of the gelato, and avoid any contamination of quality caused by air and light.

We sampled some of the flavours before deciding on the selection we wanted. All the gelato tasted so good that I wanted to try all. But I only have one stomach, so we selected those flavours that we like most. How I wish my stomach was bottomless pit.

The price charging of the gelato was reasonable and even cheaper than some of the cafes.
1 scoop of gelato with cone is charging at $4.80 while 2 scoops are priced at $6.80.

Other than being price valuable, another thing I like about Alfero Artisan Gelato is the 96% fat-free gelato. Being someone who loves dessert and afraid of getting fat at the same time, now I can enjoy the Alfero Artisan Gelato without any guilt.

We ordered 2 cups of single flavour gelato and we selected the flavours of mango and lychee sorbet.

Both flavours were refreshing and perfect dessert to have during a hot sunny day. Pop by Alfero Artisan Gelato to take a break for a soothing dessert.

Price - $4.50 for 1 scoop, $6.50 for 2 scoops.

We had a double scoops with different flavours of gelato - dark chocolate and mint choco chips.

Alfero Gelato dark chocolate taste unique, natural and perfectly aromatic with the use of best cocoa.

I'm sure the gelato in white definitely does not look like mint choco chips to you right because mint choco is always seen in green?
Alfero Artisan Gelato used full body flavour instead of artificial flavouring, that's why the colour is different.

I love the combination of the 2 flavours, it was sweet and tantalizing. We whipped finish every bits of it.

Other than gelato cup, we also have gelato with waffles. Our plate was served a greeting from the lovely staff. Thanks for the sweet thoughts.

Price:
Plain waffles - $4
Waffles with 1 scoop - $7.50
Waffles with 2 scoops - $9.50
Waffles with 3 scoops - $11.50

We decided to go for 3 scoops with the flavours of green tea, bacio and pistachio.

The green tea tasted really great, just like the top Macha from Japan.
Bacio truly a masterful combination of milk, hazelnut, chocolate and sugar. It tasted exactly like Ferrero Rocher. No wonder, it was one of their hot selling gelato.
Pistachio is yet another all-time favourite. The gelato was sweet, delicate and aromatic, leaving me wanting for more.

Their waffles tasted even aromatic as the waffles were added with pandan juice, making the waffles looked green and yummy.

Other than gelato, smoothies were also available at $7.90 per glass.
We had avocado with gula melaka and mango smoothie.

I love the avocado with gula melaka smoothie, the gula melaka added more fragrance to the smoothie and captured my taste buds with every sip taken.

I had a great get together session with the girls. Thanks Jas for the photo.

Alfero Artisan Gelato served one of the best gelato that I ever tried and I was glad that I was being introduced to this dessert heaven. I see myself coming again for their gelato and it already hooked to my taste buds.
