Mid-Autumn at Gardens by the Bay

Right after the wedding lunch, we decided to go over to Gardens by the Bay for a stroll and admiring the mid-autumn displays, experiencing the mid-autumn atmosphere in advance since we will not be meeting on the actual day.

My OOTD.
I can't resist buying black dress, black is the colour that my wardrobe is never lack of.

Since the time was still early to see the lighting displayed, we went for an early dinner at 1983 Cafe Nanyang @ Marina Bay Sands. This place is one of the affordable price eatery that you can find in MBS. I settled for chicken rice with Thai sauce.

We reached Gardens by the Bay at about 6.50pm and began our evening stroll around the massive garden.

The water lily and lotus lanterns nestled atop a lake, adding colours and beautifying the quiet lake. Gardens by the Bay is free admission to the public, the place can get very crowded during weekend.

The dragonfly lanterns were placed above us, lighting the pathway for us as we crossed the Dragonfly Bridge.

The lake was really pretty during evening time with the lanterns lighting up the background.

This season is the time Autumn Harvest for a field of fruits, flowers and vegetables, and pumpkin. The insects were helping with the harvesting. Not sure why insects, but I am definitely not a fan of any of the insects.

The scenery ahead was breathtaking and magnificent that it made me pause to take a photo.

Gardens by the Bay come alive with lighting up of lantern displays under the magical season. The lanterns will change colour every few seconds.

The atmosphere was getting stuffy with more crowds coming in. We left the place at about 8pm once we were done with the stroll.

I shall end my post here, good night.

Kelvin and Peina's Wedding Lunch at Carlton Hotel Singapore

Today is the day where my cousin, Kelvin, walked down the aisle with Peina.
Still remember 2 months back, I attended their solemnization ceremony where they exchanged their vows and signed on the marriage certificate.

The wedding banquet was held at Carlton Hotel Singapore Empress Ballroom.
It was a panic afternoon for me. I left home at slightly after 12pm and reached about 1pm. I was so scared that I was late because the invitation card stated to be seated by 12.30pm and the lunch started usually on time. Luckily, I found my parents still outside roaming which made me feel so relieved. Conclusion is wedding banquet for lunch will not start on time too.

Looking at their wedding photoshoot, all the photos are so gorgeously taken. They look so compatible with each other.

A bride is always the prettiest during her wedding day. Peina looked like a princess in her wedding gown when she walked out. It was as though they have walked out from a fairytales story.

First up was the cold dish combination which consists of prawn salad, Japanese baby octopus, smoked duck breast, mini spring roll and deep-fried silverfish.

While eating, we also watched video of the bride and groom growing up journey as well as the morning gate crash ceremony. I always enjoyed watching these videos, most of the videos I watched were very sentimental and I could feel their love for each other.

Second dish was braised shark's fin soup with dried seafood.
The seafood was simmered in the broth, allowing us to taste the sweet flavour of the seafood broth. We all love the shark's fin soup.

With KP.
Both of us went shopping previously and we bought the outfit that we were wearing now together. It was such a coincidence, we didn't mention we bought the clothes for the wedding.

Braised lingzhi mushroom with spinach.
The lingzhi mushroom has a good consistency of chewy texture.

Hello Amber, what are you looking at?

The bride and groom had changed into their second gown and suit. They looked as good as ever. Peina's gown looked so beautiful and the colour suits her too.

The wedding toast ritual.
The family, brothers and sisters were invited up on stage to join the bride and groom for the yam seng.

After the toast, my cousin also read out his thank you speech.

Found Amber outside the ballroom and she was so fascinated with the balloon. Look how happy she is. The sight of a happy Amber just melt my heart.

My turn to have the balloon and a OOTD photo. I lost count of how many black dresses I have, black always turn out to be very elegant and never go out of trend.

Beautiful backdrop that I can't resist taking photo.

Black outfit suits me well, I'm always crazy with buying black outfits, they go well with any colour. I have all kinds of design of black outfit in my wardrobe.

Okay, enough of wandering. Time to bring the little one back to her mummy.
Lets go, Amber.

Crispy roasted chicken with cracker.

Went out for toilet break and met Aiden outside. He looked so cheeky.

I love the braised ee-fu noodles. They are so different from the one we get at zichar stall. The noodles were well coated with the braised gravy to give the aromatic taste.

Playing with the balloon that I got for Amber while KL was photobombing at the back.

Dessert was a special one, we have chilled green apple jelly with chrysanthemum.
The dessert might taste a bit sour at the first bite, but after a few mouthful, I started to get used to the taste and soon the bowl was emptied.

Now I passed the balloon to Krislyn and she liked it very much too. Baby Krislyn looked so cute.

The wedding lunch has come to an end.
Wish Kelvin and Peina a blessful marriage. The marriage journey begins.

Food Review: Burger King Stacker Burger

T.G.I.F.

Began my Friday with a feast to welcome our deserving weekend at Burger King.
Burger fans and meat lovers will love this because Burger King Stacker Burger is back to let us feast like a king.

The Stacker Burger is available in 2 choices - Honey Mustard BK Chick’n Crisp and BBQ Turkey Bacon.

Burger King Stacker Burger value meal starts from $6.90, it comes with double patty meat burger, a medium pack of thick-cut salted French fries and a refreshing drink. If you want to have more layer of patties just like the picture above, you can stack up an extra layer of patty with cheese to your burger for just $1.50.

Relish the Stacker Burger with our friends and family by stacking up the fun and enjoyment.

The BBQ Turkey Bacon Stacker Burger is made up of flame-grilled beef toppled with American cheese, crispy turkey bacon, BBQ sauce and served between a toasted 4-inch sesame seed bun. No preservatives, fillers or additives added.

The Honey Mustard BK CHICK’N CRISP Stacker Burger is made up of double layers of tasty crispy chicken fillet topped with Swiss cheese, a juicy tomato, honey mustard, fresh iceberg lettuce, creamy mayonnaise and served between a toasted 4-inch sesame seed bun.

Cheers to Burger King Stacker Burger.
We can't wait to try out the burger of our choice.

I opt for Honey Mustard BK CHICK’N CRISP Stacker Burger. It was flavoursome with the different sauces added and you could feel the sauces oozing out with every bite. The crispy chicken was crispy on the outer and moist on the inner. Super delicious!

We swapped 3 of our French fries to onion rings for our value meal.
I have been craving for onion rings. Each onion ring was perfectly fried and super addictive once you started having it. We cleared all the onion rings in no time.

During our tasting, we also played Jenga, the classic block-stacking board game.
The rule of the game was to take turns pull out the blocks one by one and stack the blocks in a sturdy tower until it collapsed. I kept losing when it stopped at my turn.

Other than Stacker Burger value meal, we also tried on BK Nuggets and the lightly spiced Mexican Drumlets.

My first time trying on their Hershey's Sundae Pie.
I love the crunchy chocolate crust that was filled with chocolate ice cream filling and Hershey's chocolate chips. Anything that has ice cream is my favourite.

Ended the tasting with Chocolate Sundae Waffle ice cream.
Waffle and ice cream is always a perfect combination to go with for dessert. The hot and cold combination of dessert consisting of fluffy waffle, warm chocolate fudge and ice cream. No matter how full I am, there is still room for dessert.

Thanks Burger King for hosting us at the tasting session.

Happenings in September - Saizeriya + Wedding Dinner + The King Louis Grill & Bar

Sunday 3/9/17

It was an impromptu decision to meet up with my relatives for dinner. We asked each other out at 4 and met up at 5 plus. We went to Bendemeer area to try out their zi char.

Here were some of the dishes we ordered.
There were 11 of us including 2 children. When come to large group, we always love having zi char for dinner because we can get to order lots of food for sharing at reasonable pricing.

Little Amber was feeding her mum with food.

Playing with Aiden made me so happy.

Amber with great grandmother.
Wow, 4 generation having dinner together. We love having family dinner like that, the more the merrier.

Tuesday 12/9/17

Met up with GF for dinner at Saizeriya @ Chinatown Point. Once in awhile, we will meet up for dinner so that we have more time to catch up with each other compared to the short 1 hour lunch.

I ordered my all time favourite carbonara at $5.90++.
We don't need expensive food to fill our stomach, just comfort food and a place to settle down where we can chat all night long.

We also ordered crispy chicken for sharing.
It was never a boring moment when we met up because we always have endless stuffs to chat about. We enjoyed the dinner date.

Wednesday 13/9/17

Today's lunch was at Tampopo @ Liang Court again. I tried on different selection every time I came here.

All 4 of us tried on BP Tonkatsu Ramen.
The ramen tasted flavoursome with the right level of spiciness, not too spicy but enough for the flavour to kick in. The crispy tonkatsu added a crunch to the flavour too.

Thursday 14/9/17

Finally met up with Linda whom I haven't seen for a long time due to our busy schedule. We took the opportunity to meet up and catch up with one another.

Both of us were in black dress coincidentally.
We shared with each other about our latest happenings and her overseas trip experience and upcoming trip.

We went to 1983 - A taste of Nanyang @ Marina Bay Sands.
We had charcoal chicken burger with fries. The burger was great and appetizing.

Tuesday 19/9/17

Finally it was my meeting day with bf, I was super looking forward to the day. We managed to endure past this long period without meeting, dating days are coming. A little time apart makes us long for the reunion.

As bf has cravings for xiao long bao, we decided to went Din Tai Fung for dinner.

Both of us ordered fried rice with egg ($7.80++).
The fried rice used simple ingredients such as rice, eggs, and spring onions to create a taste of familiar comfort. Each mouthful allowed us to taste the natural fragrance of the eggs and spring onions.

The minced pork in the xiao long bao was wrapped in a delicate dough skin, I loved the juicy meat filling and the broth that burst out when the skin was broken apart.

Friday 22/9/17

Yes, weekend is coming, I met up with GF for lunch at OKG Express @ Chinatown Point, this place was found and recommended by GF. It was a small eatery that sell affordable meal in a relaxed, casual setting.

I ordered the braised pork meat rice at $3.80.
I love dining here because of the affordable price and a casual place where we can chat after finishing our meal without being chased away. This will be a regular meetup place for our lunch time date.

Saturday 23/9/17

It was the first weekend after bf came back, time for weekend outing. Since we have a wedding dinner to attend in the night, we decided to head to Vivo City for lunch and a quick walk before heading back home to change.

We went Menya Musashi for lunch because I have cravings for ramen.

We ordered a ramen set that comes with a ice lemon tea and a plate of fried white fish.

I have red cha shu ramen where the broth was served in authentic taste and level of spiciness was just right for me. I enjoyed every bits of it.

We then made our way to McDonald for my favourite ice cream, I just got addicted to their McFlurry that I keep coming for back more. We tried out their limited period Chendol McFlurry at $3. It tasted flavourful with the pandan jelly and shredded coconut, a creamier version of chendol. As McDonald was having 1 for 1 Chendol McFlurry, each of us have one to ourselves but we couldn't finish it as it was too much and too gelat towards the end.

We attended Jin Sheng's wedding dinner held at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. I wore a maxi dress to look more dressed up for the occasion, no need to worry about sitting cross leg too. I love this maxi dress as it looked elegant and I see myself wearing it out again.

It's been awhile since I last doll up for occasion. Everything was done except my hair because I am running short of time to style my hair. But I still look okay right?

Crabmeat and fish maw in thick superior broth.

I actually prefer attending wedding lunch then wedding dinner because wedding dinner tend to drag and took a longer time in serving the dishes.

Sunday 24/9/17

We went to Vivo City for dinner after settling our issues. We chanced upon Central Hong Kong Cafe while walking around and decided to try it as we have never tried before and also to reminisce our time in Hong Kong.

I felt so sad, I accidentally deleted the photo of the food I ate that day except for the dessert, so I have lesser photos to show you guys.

We have Mango Pomelo ($4++) for dessert. It was a delectable indulgence and one of the nicest mango pomelo I have tried.

Tuesday 26/9/17

Today was a special occasion so we decided to have a good meal together. Things did not turn out as positive as we wish it to be. What we thought was a good meal turn out to be my worse meal ever. A lonely and wore out feeling.

We have our dinner at The King Louis Grill & Bar, a place that provides us a good view of Sentosa. The restaurant was very chilling and quiet, just like our moods.

The King Louis Grill & Bar is having a 2 for 1 main course promotion. We ordered carbonara and fish n chips, and select curly fries as our free course. The carbonara was not to my liking as I feel gelat after a few mouthful.

The curly fries on the other hand, tasted delicious. It was crispy and flavourful. The portion given was generous.

Wednesday 27/9/17

I guessed I ate too heaty food lately, my cough didn't seem to be healing so I went to see a doctor to get the medicine.

After seeing the doctor, we went to the coffeeshop below the clinic and have roti prata for dinner. I have one plain and one egg prata. The prata was nice and doughy. I will come back for the prata again.
