Johor Bahru City Square: Ho Seng Kee + Baywatch Movie + Hui Lau Shan

It has been a monthly affair to travel to Johor Bahru (JB) for a feast and catch a movie.

We usually stayed around JB City Square if we did not stay over for a night because the shopping mall is just directly link to the custom, there is no need to travel around given that we only have 3.5 to 4 hours to spare.

JB City Square is the mall that I visited the most in JB due to its strategic location near the custom. The mall has everything we need from dining, shopping to watching a movie.

The first thing we did when we reach JB City Square was to buy bubble tea from Xuan Tea. We have taro milk tea with jelly cube. We initially wanted to order cookie & cream milk tea but no stock, so we switched back to taro milk tea.

We then went to grab some food before our movie show start at 5.45pm.

Having been to City Square for quite a number of times, I have never really explore level 6 except for watching movie. We incidentally found this place after buying our movie tickets. The wanton mee at Ho Seng Kee caught our attention, so we decided to go in and have a try.

Ho Seng Kee, 何成記 wanton mee has been an Nostalgic Flavour in Johor Bahru (JB) for over 81 years. Their noodles are homemade on a daily basis.

Wearing my new clothes out.
I bought this sleeveless top from JB early this year.

We ordered wanton mee and fried wanton for sharing. The fried wanton was very crispy and tasty.

The highlight of the dish was salmon fish wanton. The wanton contained the goodness of salmon and I could taste the goodness with every bite. Never know salmon and wanton can be such a good combination.

After the food, we went for our movie, Baywatch.

Legendary California lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson) is frustrated when a cocky, hard-partying Olympic swimmer named Matt Brody (Zac Efron) joins his beach-patrol team. However, the two men must learn to work together when they stumble upon a criminal conspiracy.

Baywatch is a comedy and action packed movie that filled with laughter. We have a laugh over the movie.

After the movie, we were to have more food. Coming to JB is always about eating, there is never a hungry moment when we are here.

We went to Hui Lau Shan 许留山 located at level 3 to have some dessert, our second time here.

I ordered Mango Steam Milk Pudding (RM7).
Been wanting to try this but everytime it has run out of stock when I came over at close to 9pm. It tasted good and quite filling.

We ordered Deluxe Mango Mochi (RM7) for sharing.

The mango mochi was thick, chewy and dry on the inside. It will taste better if there is mango juice oozing out when we bite it.

Bf had Sago Duet with coconut ribbon add on (RM18).
We love the creamy and soothing sago.

Still not feeling full and satisfying, we dropped by J.CO to fill our tummy with donuts. We were spoil for choices at the variety of donuts available.

We bought 3 donuts at RM9.43.
The donuts were crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. The topping were rich and sweet, we can't get enough of the doughy donuts.

Feeling satisfied, we were ready to leave JB and come back home. We will be back soon again.
Good bye.
