Hong Kong Day 3: Madame Tussauds The Peak + Yat Lok Roast Goose

The first thing I did when I woke up was to head to the window and check if it was raining, followed by checking the weather forecast. I didn't have a good sleep last night as I kept waking up for toilet. Though I was up early, we didn't leave our hotel early since it was still raining.

We didn't leave the hotel until 12.15pm, finally we managed to get ourselves out of bed for preparation as our stomach were calling for us.

We just went in to one of the eateries we saw on the way to the MTR station from our hotel. We were hungry and just want to look for a place to settle our meal fast.

The cafe looked comfortable and the price was decent too.

I have duck rice with egg and mixed vegetables.
It tasted decent, nothing very special.

Other dishes that we tried too wanton noodles and bolo bun.
Our lunch bill was HKD98 (S$17.50).

We took the MTR from Mong Kok To Sha Tin for Snoopy's World. It was located at New Town Plaza Shopping Mall. It was just 5 minute walk away from the station, just follow the sign board in the mall.

It was a small amusement park where you can take photo with all the Snoopy figures. However, the park was closed for now due to wet weather. We were a bit disappointed, we just took some photos and proceed to the shopping mall.

My OOTD.
I got this long top from JB, KSL mall. I love this piece very much, it was perfect to wear on it's own without any styling of accessories required. Long top is a must have item in my wardrobe.

The rain has subsided for now, don't think they will open anytime soon, so we just went in and walked around the mall. No fate with this amusement park, shall explore this place next time round if I am coming back to Hong Kong.

This was the view of the amusement park from the shopping mall.

We left the mall and proceeded to our next destination, The Peak. We took the MTR to Admiralty Station. It was raining heavily when w reached, so we just seek shelter in the shopping mall again. The waiting didn't help much as the rain did not show signs of stopping. We embraced the rain with my umbrella and walked to the Peak Tram Lower Terminus. It was pouring heavily and we were all drenched by the time we reached the Terminus.

Raining was a nightmare when it comes to traveling.

Waiting to board the Peak Tram.
We purchased the ticket at HKD90 per pax. Visiting tourist attractions in Hong Kong is very pricey, prepare more cash if you want to visit these places.

The Peak was packed with people even on a Monday, the seats on the Peak Tram was fully taken. We managed to find a seat.

On board the famous Peak Tram that fascinate us. The tram was going up in a very steep slope, the building that we passed by were all slanted diagonally. It was as though we were going up the track of roller coaster except there was no sliding down.

Though our ticket was inclusive of The Sky Terrace 428, we didn't went for it eventually there was the view we saw when we looked out. The rain was so heavy that we couldn't see anything outside. It was such a pity that we missed the beautiful scenery of the highest viewing platform in Hong Kong, we missed the skyscrapers and Victoria Harbour view. We came at the wrong timing, it was raining like crazy the entire day.

We went Madness 3D Adventure which offers a fun, interactive experience through 3D artworks created by local artists featuring a series of famous Hong Kong scenes. Entry is free except for the photo shooting zone. It was quite a small area and can be conquered within 15 minutes.

Seriously nothing much to do in the mall except to eat and go for their entertainment since all outdoor activities were out for us.

The other attraction left was Madame Tussauds, a renowned wax museum. It was the first Madame Tussauds museums in Asia. The entrance ticket was a bomb, it costs HKD280 (S$50) per pax.

The Hong Kong branch houses nearly 100 wax figures of internationally known personalities featuring Hong Kong Glamour, Music Icons, Historical and National Heroes, The Champions and World Premiere.

Followed me to see some of these wax figures:

First up at Hong Kong Glamour where we met some of the Asian VIPs at the hottest celebrity party in town, say hi to Andy Lau and Kelly Chen.

A date with the hottest vampire, Robert Pattinson.
Edward Cullen, the famous vampire from Twilight.

We moved on to Historical and National Heroes where we met the world's most famous historical and political leaders and icons. Barack Obama in the house, 44th President of the United States.

Met our national pride, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.
Our founding Prime Minister was here. Salute.

At Yayoi Kusama Gallery releasing myself in the experience of 'self-obliteration'.
I was amazed by how big Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is, there are so many wax figures, no wonder it comes with a heavy price.

Arriving at World Premiere where a range of movie stars from the early black and white Hollywood era to the Asian film industry.

A romantic ride with Leon Lai, one of the Four Kings of Cantopop.

At the Kung Fu Zone which re-creates classic combat scenes from Asian martial arts and local Kung Fu films.

At my favourite K-wave Zone, the zone is a perfect opportunity for fans to explore Seoul together with our favourite Kpop celebrities.

Say cheese to Lee Jong-suk. I get to know about him through the Korean drama, Pinocchio.

Suzy Bae, she is also known as Nation's first love and member of the former girl group, Miss A.

Changmin and Yunho from TVXQ. Changmin is my bias.
The three of us have matchy outfit, we were all in checkered team.

Met Thai Prince, Nichkhun, from 2PM. Sawadee ka.
And also Choi Siwon from Super Junior. My favourite oppa in SM Entertainment.

Come on and rock with me, get on the dance floor now.

We reached The Champions zone where we met a few of the famous Sports Stars.
On your marks, get set, go!

No suffering of Monday blues and a good head start because my day was spent with record breakers, Olympic medalists and team players.

Boxing time with Muhammad Ali, American professional boxer.

Into the Animated World where Superheroes reunited. Spider man and I planted a kiss, bf challenged The Hulk and I tag team with Iron Man.

Exploring Hong Kong with Hello Kitty.
The background showed The Peak Tower, Peak Tram and Observation Wheel added with Hello Kitty’s ribbon.

Met the famous Hong Kong piglets - McDull & Madame Mak.

That marked the end of my tour of Madame Tussauds, we have a great an hour plus spent in the wax museum. Visit at least one of the wax museums in the world will be good enough, there isn't a need to visit every Madame Tussauds in the world.

Feeling hungry, we walked around to look at the restaurants at The Peak and the restaurants were heavily priced. We decided to leave this place, we took the tram down and a bus to Central Station. Since we were at Central, we went to find the famous Roast Goose stall, Yat Lok. It was raining heavily and we were drenched finding the way despite having an umbrella. I could feel the sole was all wet. Today was indeed not our day.

We were lucky to have a seat when we arrived, The place is basic and space limited. The staff told us that there will normally be queue, but because of the rain, the eatery seemed quieter that day.

Having too much tea these few days, we decided to go for Honey Lemon drink.

I ordered the famous Roast Goose rice, there was a thick layer of fats hide within the layers of lean meat and the sauce drizzled was flavoursome. Food was not bad but very pricey. We paid HKD280 (S$50) for the dinner.
This was my second time having it, the first time I had was 2 years ago where my brother tabao half Roast Goose back to Singapore. The roast goose can be prepared in travel-safe packaging to bring up to plane.

After the dinner, we took the MTR back to Mong Kok and walked back to our hotel. I was shivering and we just want to head back to hotel and seek shelter. Though some might feel that the time was wasted for going back so early, I just want to have a hot shower and wash my shoes. I felt so disgusted in the wet shoes.

That's all for today, good night.
