Hong Kong Day 4: Disney Train + Dim Dim Sum

I have an extremely good sleep that made me don't feel like waking up. It was drizzling when I woke up so we just continue lazing in the bed. The sky started to clear up after awhile and we left hotel at nearly 1pm. Ever since day 2, we always carried an umbrella out with us because it was raining almost everyday, the weather was indeed unpredictable.

We managed to catch the 1pm shuttle bus outside our hotel and took a 20 minutes ride to Kowloon MTR station. Since the weather was sunny, we wanted to go Tung Chung and take the cable car up to Lantau Island.

We decided to look for food at Kowloon before taking Tung Chung Line. There wasn't much selection so we just settled for Cafe De Coral, an eatery that one can commonly find in Hong Kong. They are known for their casual dining.

We ordered the rice set that comes with a drink. It may not looked appealing, but surprisingly, it was quite tasty when we mixed the rice with the gravy.

We also ordered a soup for sharing. The food was so-so but the price paid was steep, it costs us HKD117 ($20.89) for the lunch. We were already very hungry and couldn't tahan until Tung Chung, so we have to go for this.

It was nearly 2pm by the time we finished our lunch, we boarded the MTR and train down to Tung Chung. Just as we passed Sunny Bay and proceeding to Tung Chung station, we were greeted by a sudden downpour (it's not even drizzling to begin with). Omg, the weather was seriously unpredictable. Our mood totally sank when we reached Tung Chung. We then went to Citygate Outlets for designer brands shopping, hoping that the rain will end soon. Judging that the rain will not stop any time soon, we decided to stop waiting and think of alternative plans. We definitely do not want to be caught in the same situation like yesterday so we planned to stay indoor shopping at Causeway Bay.

Since our MTR will passed by Sunny Bay, we stopped over at this station and on board the Disney train to Disneyland Resort. The train was so pretty, it was in Mickey Mouse's theme.

Even the seat was so comfortable, unlike the typical MTR.
We wished the train was a little bit longer.

It was also raining heavily over at Disneyland.
The train was still filled with people even though it was raining heavily. It was already 3.30pm and these people don't mind paying the tickets to Disneyland despite the rain?

For us, we would want to seek shelter and avoid being caught in the rain. It was raining cats and dogs, we can't achieve much even if we embraced the rain and went to the theme park. We give Disneyland a miss too.

Bye Disneyland, we took the train back to Sunny Bay and continued our way to Causeway Bay which required us to change line at Hong Kong station. The reason why I decided to go Causeway Bay is because my bro wanted me to get him Hollister t-shirt which can be found at Hysan Place, a shopping mall at Causeway Bay. I got him 2 t-shirt at HKD380 (or S$67.86) and none for myself. Personally I find that shopping in the mall is a little bit pricey and not that big different from the price in Singapore.

We passed by the Line Friends Store and it was a mandatory to take photo with the giant Brown that was sitting right at the entrance of the store.

We spotted Honeymoon Dessert at level 3 so we went in to have desserts and take a break before we brainstormed on where to go for dinner.

Today was a day that we did not have any itinerary, it was all messed up due to the unforeseeable downpour that started from 2 plus all the way till the night. Nevertheless, the rain gave us more time to just chill in the cafe

We ordered 2 desserts that are not found in Singapore - Strawberry Sago and Green Tea with Soya Beancurd. The price here is about the same as the price in Singapore. We paid HKD73 (or S$13) for the dessert.

Hong Kong is a dim sum paradise, so while we were eating our dessert, we googled the best place for dim sum in Hong Kong. We found DimDim Sum and decided to try that for dinner. Time to settle the bill and make our move.

We took the MTR down to Jordon and made our way to the dim sum place. It was still raining while we were on our way there. It was really 长命雨 where it rain 3 whole days consecutively.

We were lucky because there was no queue and we got a seat immediately, thanks to the rain. Dim Dim Sum (點點心) is also a dim sum place highly recommended by my bro, I was so glad that we came here because it served a wide variety of dim sum choices and best dim sum that I tried so far.

Clearly the rain has also affected the business, it was 7pm and seats were still available.

We started off the dinner with bolo bun 菠萝包.
It was served piping hot.

The bolo bun was slightly crispy on the outer and fluffy in the inner. It was so delicious.

The Deep Fried Shrimp Wonton was one of my favourite, this was my first time seeing such a big fried wonton, I was so impressed by it. The crispy skin  was so addictive, every bite was so crispy and crunchy.

This deep fried milk was something special that we have tried, beneath the crispy skin was creamy milk pudding and tangy texture. It was not too sweet and heavy, it was creamy and yummy.

We also ordered Xiao Long Bao and Har Gow.
The broth in Xiao Long Bao was soaked with flavours, every dish tasted delicious.

Piggy Salted Egg Custard Steamed Buns (流沙包).
It looked so cute in the design of a pig.
The salted egg custard will start to ooze out once bite and we will be able to enjoy the goodness  of the creamy custard.

Ended with the last dish, Siew Mai.

It was a satisfying dinner and our greatest achievement for today. The total bill came up to HKD173 (or S$30.90). The happy us left the restaurant and went back to our hotel after the dinner.
