It's Guinness night for us again at Dragonfly, our weekly hangout on Wedneday night.

We survived the mid-week, 2 more days to go!

Each of us grab a glass of Guinness draught. We enjoyed this light head and bittersweet beer.

Today's PK match: Kenny from team Dragonfly vs Howie from team Firefly.

Howie took up a challenge to sing a song that the audience are not very familiar with, it's one of the song composed by Queen Band.

It's a good try. Howie handles it pretty well.

Howie is in his rocker outfit, bringing us the rock songs.

One thing I think that he needs to improve on is his facial expression, just relax yourself.

He will look awesome if his facial expression is not so tense up.

Chingay actually means Zhuang Yi (妆艺), meaning "the art of masquerade" in hokkien. Chingay Parade Singapore is known for its magnificient floats and multi-cultural local and international performances that provide an insight to our festive traditions and delight the hearts of many Singaporeans and tourists.

It is held during the Chinese New Year's period where thousands of individuals, organisations and local international communities in Singapore come together to take part in this grand and highly spectacular festival every year.

Oh my gosh, this year chingay will take place along a 360m waterway. It's the first time ever in the history of chingay. It guaranteed us a splashing good time at chingay.

It takes us through a series of colourful celebration of love in all its guises, flowing with passion, romance, harmony and community spirit as Chingay marks its 40th years in anniversary.

Lets keep the spirit going.

Not only do we have dance performances, we have sport performances too. We have friends from Taekwondo and water sport group.

Look at that, lion dance troupe make up of balloons. Impressive right???

Omg, super creative. How did they think of this?

Tai Chi group which is made up of 1,000 members.

In normal occasion, we hardly have the chance to see dragon dance. But the number of dragon dance I see today is more than the number I see in my entire life. I'm not exaggerating.

We Not Naughty movie screening

Right after my work, I headed down to Marina Square for a movie with a group of friends to catch "We Not Naughty" movie. A special thanks to Nuffnang.

The casts came down to join us for the movie as well. Before the movie starts, lets hear the speech from Jack Neo, Joshua Ang, Shawn Lee and Roi Loi.

His patience pays off and the boys end up seeking help from him for their family problems. CK even help the boys to create an invention for a competition. However, their invention is misused by the loansharks and in an attempt to stop that, CK, Wei Jie and Jian Ren’s lives are at risk.

The movie is great and touching. I actually teared watching it, it's filled with lots of love and warmth scenes. It's a definitely must watch new year drama.

Dinner at Nando's and Guinness Live

It's yet another of our buddies outting. We love travelling around to hunt for good food.

This time round, the food lovers headed over to Nando's at Plaza Singapura:

Rice and chips.

Can't seems to have enough potato, we ordered Peri wedges. Perfect for kantang lover like me.

Lets have peri-peri mild chicken.

So what's next after dinner?

We had a long chit-chat session, followed by chill out at Dragonfly.

How could we not have Guinness Draught while watching Guinness Live?

GF, William and I have fun while taking photos. We are always full of ideas.

Our main mission is here to support our friend, Yong Wei.

Team Dragonfly and Team Shanghai Dolly's mentor: Jason and William Scorpion.

Jeremy from team Shanghai Dolly vs Yong Wei from team Dragonfly.

First to go is Jeremy, who is in his punk outfit.

As Jeremy is an English speaking person, so when he sings chinese songs, there is this angmoh accent in it. The pronunciation tend to be not so accurate.

Yong Wei's singing and stage performance has improved from his last performance. This time round, he knows how to get the audience involved - swinging the hands and getting audience to sing along with him.

Halfway singing his second song - 朋友, Yong Wei forgets the lyrics. Luckily, the audience knows the song and accompany him sing through.

Jeremy's last song has helped him gain back lots of votes from the audience - 新不了情

He has managed to sing it well.

As a result, Jeremy has won the match.

Don't be dishearted, Yong Wei. Try harder next time (:

Guinness Live Round 37- REGINE vs SILING

Right after the steamboat, the whole bunch of us rushed down to Shanghai Dolly for Guinness Live.

Thanks goodness, we still made it for their first match.

Today's match: Regine from team Shanghai Dolly vs Siling from team Firefly.

2 best female singer from each team competing against each other, it's a worth seeing match.

Siling started off the match with 夜来香.

This is quite a retro song, that explains her outfit and the prop on her hand.

Regine on the other hand, wore a sexy red dress which matches the chinese new year celebration.

There is no doubt that Siling has a good vocal, maintaining and performing well her usual standard.

Regine's vocal is power. She is fully relaxed when singing, you will never catch her feeling tensed or stressed when on stage. She looked totally different when she was with us.

Siling took up the challenge to sing a hokkien song for the 3rd round -家後. A very nice song from Money Not Enough 2. A very nice song indeed.

Siling has handled it pretty well. She has put in feeling and emotions into the song - 很有味道.

Regine's 3rd song: 我要你的爱.

A song that required intereaction with audience and Regine did a great job on that. this song is not easy to sing. Seriously, there is nothing to find fault on for this song. She is one of the great female singer I have seen so far.

For the PK match, Regine from team Shanghai Dolly has scored and won the match. Congratulations, Regine.

Steamboat + Lo Hei + Jess's birthday celebration

It's the second day of Chinese New Year, are you guys still on visit to your relatives or close friends' house?

That evening, I went over to Serangoon to meet up with a group of good friends for a steamboat session at Yong Wei's house. Thanks Yong Wei for the kind invitation and opening up your house.

But before our steamboat, we had our "Lo Hei" session:

We got the Yusheng very last minute at cold storage. What is new year without yusheng right?

A peek of what we are having for dinner. GF is very thoughtful, she brought us some wu xiang and other ingredients for add on. Yong Wei too, got us bacon for cold storage.

As for me, I brought a can of abalone to his house too. Abalone symbolises good fortune, it's definitely a must have dish during steamboat.

While pouring the ingredients, everyone of us take turns to say something auspicious.May fortune and wealth be with us.

While William is busy setting up his camera, the girls are busy with their cameras too.

Well, Yong Wei loves banana. He was borned in the year of Monkey. That explains the last picture.

Lets start tossing. The higher, the better.

We had a wonderful time at Yong Wei's house. Thanks Yong Wei and his parent for the great hospitality.

Chinese New Year 2012

Happy New Year, everyone!!! It's the start of the spring festival, are you guys having a great time?

In this special day, every household will visit the elders family and relatives to bai nian, a time for family reunion and thanksgiving.

I am no exception.

Despite going to bed at only 4 in the morning, I'm already awake at 9am.

When relatives started gathering in, this was what we do:

The boys are forever on the computer, in their gaming world.

My aunt, cousins and nieces.
The ladies including me will start attacking the CNY goodies.

Taking a peek at tonight's dinner.

It's our tradition to have steamboat every year on the lunar new year.

Enjoying my bowl of shark fins.

No more shark fins soup in the future as its gonna be banned.

Change to the alternative - Vegetarian Shark Fin Soup.

After dinner, everyone of us was glued to the TV. We have a healthy start with no gambling, I wonder is it a good or bad thing?

How can we miss lo hei on this special day?

Yu Sheng is a raw fish salad dish that symbolises abundance and prosperity.

So lets gather and toss for a prosperity year.

Chinese New Year Eve Countdown

The Spring festival is approaching, are you guys excited???

Right after my reunion dinner with my family, I headed down to Raffles Place to meet up with my friends for a CNY eve gathering and countdown.

As the time was still early, we settled ourselves down at TCC and started playing board game - UglyDoll.

Thanks William for introducing us this new game: We got to flip over the cards until we spot 3 matching uglydoll. And the person with the least card will have to do a forfeit.

Wow, it's a fun action card game.

I ordered Chocolate of Wealth.

A little disappointed, it's a big contrast to how it looks in the menu and different from what I had the other time.

After the drink, we slowly made our way to Esplanade to meet up with Leo and to catch the fireworks.

2012 is indeed the year of water dragon, the drizzling had quickly transform into a heavy downpour. However, it didn't stop us from going to the rooftop to capture the fireworks moment.

And right at the strike of twelve, the fireworks light up the sky.

This shot is beautiful, it seems like thousands of stars are falling down.

Happy Chinese New Year!

The heavy rain basically ruin our plan. We intend to head out to Marina Bay for some photoshooting. But now we gonna head indoor for shelter.

We lazed around at Marina Square and continued our card game.

The person with the least card will have to imitate one of the 12 zodiac animals and take a photo.

Ten Dollar Club KTV Session

I have a tiring but fun day. It's time for the long weekend ahead and welcome chinese new year.

Went over to Chinatown to meet up with clique for karaoke session after my programme at Sentosa. After going for numerous rounds of Guinness Live, our throats are itchy for some singing now. It's time to sing our heart out!

We had chicken rice and tiger beer for dinner. Lets celebrate Chinese New Year with Tiger Beer.

We were half an hour late, so we were left with 2.5 hours. So we hurried chop chop select songs.

Jessie's Birthday Dinner at Din Tai Fung

Headed over to Suntec to look for GF after her work before heading down to meet the guys.

So happy to see them again, what beats gathering with a group of friends after a long and tiring day.

We have a simple dinner gathering to help celebrate GF's birthday in advance. Thanks Jess for extending her vouchers to us so that we get to pay lesser (:

Of course we ordered the signature dish, "Xiao Long Bao".

It tastes like what I remembered. The juicy soup and pork wrapped in the skin. Delicious!

Another must-have dish for us when we go to chinese restuarant: Spicy Wanton.

Our favourite, it spices up our appetite.

Wanton soup is tasty and yummy. Full of flavour.

William and I ordered Fried Rice with Pork Chop.

We can't seem to get enough of pork. The meat is succulent and generous. It comes in rather big portion.

2012 FTISLAND CONCERT PLAY!

Thanks to F&N Fruit Tree Fresh, I have the opportunity to attend my first concert of the year - 2012 FTISLAND CONCERT PLAY!

We are totally hyper and excited to see the five boys in action.

This is also FT Island first ever full-fledged solo concert in Singapore.

The fans have been waiting so long for this moment, lets give FT Island our full support.

May the concert begins!

Bring the boys out.

The 3,500 fans in Max Pavilion had all arose at the sight of Five Treasure ISLAND.

Loud screams and cheers sounded in the air, the atmosphere was full of excitment..

FT Island kickoff the concert with the opening song - I Hope.

I like Hong Ki, the lead vocalist, he is so hyper and capable of keeping the crowds involved and sing with him.

And the songs go on and on to "Bing Bing Bing" with the fans swinging together.

FT Island shone so brightly on stage, their performance were stunning.

FT Island interact with the fans in English too. I remembered one of the sentence they mentioned:

"Nowadays, Korea is very cold, windy, freezing and sometimes snowing. And here, Singapore is very hot and we know it's all because of you!"

"Sunshine Girl."

The five good looking, energetic and talented guys - Choi Jong Hun (guitar and keyboard), Lee Hongki (lead vocals) Lee Jae Jin (bass and vocals), Song Seung Hyun (guitar and vocals), and Choi Min Hwan (drums).

We had come to the end of the concert, we had a fruitful 2 hours.

Air Rifle Shooting

I have a great time today at HomeTeam NS @ Bukit Batok. I have my first attempt for air rifle shooting, it's a pretty fun experience. So happy, mastered a new set of skill.

The target board is actually very far from our range, approximately 10m. Must remain focus and put in extra concentration.

My result for 2nd attempt. Not too bad, within 8 to 10 points. Potential markswoman in the making.

One disadvantage of using air rifle is only one bullet can be loaded at one time.

Wow, Shall Hui's pose looked so professional.

I still prefer the first position, more relaxing and shot more accruately.

Important rule: Do not place your finger in the trigger when not in use.

I love today's shooting, it's a lovely activity for us to get social and closer.

Meetup with clique for yet another round of Guinness Live, this time it was held at Dragonfly.

Today's challenge: Kenny from Team Dragonfly vs Regine from Team Shanghai Dolly.

Regine's singing really superb.
She must have put in lots of hardwork in it, her performance is getting better than before.

Even my friends agreed she sang well too.

A very popular song in Guinness Live. Almost every Guinness Live that I went, I would have heard this song. So today is not an exception.

I love the way Regine sings 愛你一萬年.

It rather different from the way the original singer sang, Regine added her own singing style in it.

It's remarkable, even the mentors commented so too.

A very rocking song that make me wanna jump. I love rocking songs!

But there are always still room for improvement. As this is a super high song, perhaps he could try to interact more with the audience to get them more involved.

So right after our movie and dinner, we made our way down to Shanghai Dolly, our Tuesday night hangout.

Tonight Guinness Live - Benita from Team Shanghai Dolly vs Si Ling from Team Firefly.

Some rules have changed from the beginning of a new year, the contestants can now choose their songs feely instead of singing the songs that were being assigned to them.

I'm looking forward to their performance. So do the mentor, Fa Ge and William Scorpion.

Round 1: Si Ling from Team Firefly kickstart the match.

This is my second time seeing her live performance, I must agree that she has a good vocal.

Not to mention, Si Ling looked super stylish today.

Next up is Benita from Team Shanghai Dolly, the youngest contestant in this competition. At the age of 18, Benita already had many experience in singing competition, she is also one of the contestant for campus superstar.

Benita has a sweet voice.

Thanks GF for the movie invitation to Contraband, it's been a super long time since my last movie, probably more than a month ago.

Samsung Galaxy Note

Still remember a month ago, I headed down to the Samsung store for collection of Samsung latest gadget - Galaxy Note. Don't be mistaken, Samsung didn't give me the gadget but they have loan it to me for a trial period.

After the collection of Galaxy Note, we went for the briefing by Samsung on the phone's usuage.

Andy and Claire were here for the collection too. So happy to see them here ♥

Galaxy Note is the combination of phone and tablet. It is best known for its large display. With the 5.3 inch HD display, the screen is magnified and tablet-like. It is possibly the best smartphone for web browsing, watching videos and gaming with its clear and colourful images.

Another highlight of Galaxy Note is the use of S Pen. With S Pen, we are able to access many shortcut keys and cool functions such as writing down notes, drawing, making screenshot and editing images. The small button at the side of the S Pen also facilitates the ease of using. For instance, you can press and hold the button, and do a swipe upwards; it will bring you to the application menu.

With these, it creates the best mobile input experience.

However, I did not purchase the smartphone in the end as I am contented with its miniature, Galaxy S2. No doubt that the features of Galaxy Note is really good, but the phone is too big for me.

Meet up with my buddies for a simple day out on 2nd day of the year.

It's a rather impromptu meet up (which we only decide the day before) as we fancy a chilling out session where we can chit-chat and eat as the same time.

William and GF brought me to Soup Restaurant 三盅兩件 for brunch. It's my first time patronizing the restaurant, thanks for the recommendation.

We ordered the signature dish of the restaurant - Samsui Ginger Chicken

Omg, the dish is madly delicious. the chicken is juicy and tender. Dipping the chicken into the ginger sauce creates a perfect combination. it added a fragrant aroma to the chicken, making me craving for more now.

The vegetable is fresh and yummy too.

Hometown Tofu.

I love the tofu. It is soft and sweet.

I'm loving the restaurant now - dining in a chinatown heritage restaurant and savouring the delicious chinese cusines.

Still remember a couple of week ago, together with a group of bloggers, we attended the Media Preview for the Anti-Drug Online Gaming Challenge which is organized by the National Council Against Drug Abuse (NCADA) and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

NCADA and CNB have launched their first Anti-Drug Online Gaming Challenge on Facebook. Through playing these games, NCADA and CNB aim to engage youths onine and drive home the anti-drug message.

A total of 3 online games are featured in this gaming challenge - "Jump Jump Rescue", "The Right Choice" and "Escape from Drugs Land".

These games were designed by tertiary school students of the top spots in the Flash Games Comptition organised by NCADA and CNB last October.

One game will be launched each month from December 2011 to February 2012 on the Life Does Not Rewind Facebook fan page - https://www.facebook.com/lifedoesnotrewind?sk=wall

A game designed by 2 Singapore Polytechnic students: Gillian Tan and Theresa Cheong

This game will be running from January 2 to 29, 2011.

Prizes won for The Right Choice: Top scorer will walk away with iPad 2 32GB and 16 pairs of iFly tickets to be given out.

"The Right Choice" is an interactive visual novel concept which takes the player through the story of jeremy and how he deals with the situation after he finds out that his brother, Xavier, has been abusing drugs. The player will be able to explore the consequences of his/her decisions based on the choices he/she makes and look at how drugs can destroy one's life.

We have the privilege to try out the game on the spot.

Without further ado, let me bring you through some highlights of the game:

Upon seeing the first page, you can choose to play the game immediately 0r go to Extras for drugs knowledge reading.

Learnt all about the facts of drug abuse and the consequences.

Click play when you are ready and they will bring you to this page.

The player will take on the role of Jeremy, who suspects that his brother Xavier is abusing drugs.

The player will encounter scenarios where he/she has to make choices to progress in the game. Each choice will cause the story to progress differently, ultimately leading to different outcomes. A better choice will gain the player more points, while a worse choice will gain the player less points. The points accumulated will play a part in determining the outcome of the story.

The player will have to complete tasks throughout the story. For example, the player needs to find scraps of paper in the Xavier’s room in the screenshot above. All tasks are timed and the result will be converted into points and play a part in determining the outcome of the story as well.

The player then has to piece the scraps together for clues that Xavier is abusing drugs.

A memory game task where the player has to ‘open’ the cards to match the names and photos of the drugs.

The player will acquire drug knowledge when he/she ‘talk’ to other characters in the story in the course of helping Xavier. The player can choose to ‘talk’ to Xavier’s parents, friends or call a helpline. By ‘talking’ to these people, the player gains points.

After making a another choice, you will be brought to here.

A spot-the-difference game for players to spot drug items in Xavier’s room for clues that he is abusing drugs. The two images show how different Xavier’s room look before and after he started drug abuse.

The story climaxes when the Jeremy confronts Xavier at a nightclub and tries convincing him to stop his habits.

The game ends after Xavier admits his mistake and resolves to change. All points will be converted into a time score which the player will see at the end of the game.

I completed mine in 11 minutes 25 sec.

It is pretty true, life does not rewind. This is also the theme that the creation of the games were based on.

I like how the game relates back to our real life. At certain point of time, we have to make a wise decision as there is no undo function in both this game and our life. So one wrong move, everything will be game over.

By nevertheless, I have fun trying out the game. The game is pretty entertaining and at the same time, they are educating us, echoing the message on making the right choices during the game play and in life.

So let us all cherish our life and say NO to drugs!

In a blink of an eye, we have come to the end of 2011. Time flies like an arrow, in just a few moment, we will be welcoming the start of 2012.

Week for dinner gathering

It's been so long since I last meet up with my poly peers, everyone is busy with their own commitments. Thus, It's often so hard to meet together in group. But today, everybody tried their best to make themselves free for a dinner gathering.

We had our dinner at Saizeriya Ristorante @ Liang Court, an Italian family-styled restaurant.

Thanks CL for the recommendation, now I have a new eat out place. If you are looking for price affordable restaurant, you can consider coming to Saizeriya.

I ordered Bacon Carbonara, it's one of my favourite pasta!!

I love the creamy sauce and bacon ❤

Still not full yet, we ordered Hawaiian pizza to share.

Total damage per person is only like 10 bucks. Isn't it price affordable??

After our long dinner and chit-chat session, we took a stroll by the river, admiring the beauty of Singapore river.

Took the opportunity to take a picture with each of them. I can't believe the last time I saw them was actually 4 months ago!!! I wanna when is our next meet up??

With Grace, the most busy OL I have seen among our batch. I have fear asking her out on weekdays, high potential that she will fly aeroplane on me.

It's so awesome seeing friends that you have not meet for a period of time. Knowing that everyone of them is leading a good life lifts up my mood.

Meet up with the usuals and have a post birthday dinner with William.

Recommended by William, we settled ourselves down for dinner at TCC @ Circular Road.

The restaurant is very unique compared to the other outlets, it is so beautiful on the second level.

We find ourselves low coffee tables with bean bags. This is really a nice place to hang out with friends and get cosy.

The place has got the homely feel wether you get to laze around.

Also recommended by William, we tried this baby crayfish salad.

Thumb up for that, the crayfish is really fantastic and fresh. We totally loved it.

Guess what? I have been having 2 night of spaghetti, not to mention I just had pasta in the afternoon. Hopefully no more pasta or spaghetti this week.

We played boardgame right after our dinner. We have so much laughter when playing, I guessed we are too engrossed in it.

Loved spending my time with them.

Friendship is not measured by how long you know each other, but is born at the moment when one says "What? You too? I thought I was the only one."

I hope Guinness Live does not sound foreign to you as Television and magazines have advertised fiercely on it. I had been to 2 rounds of Guinness Live before to support my friend, Yong Wei:

Watching his performance is an enjoyment. He has controlled the keys and emotions well. Couldn't find fault with it.

Regine is also one of the stars of the Guinness Live Unplugged last year.

With many years of experience of stage, Regine is seem as calm and charm on stage.

Regine's performance is awesome. It has won the applause from the crowds.

Happily Ever After: Kenni & Siew Cheng's wedding Part 1

Reached home late last night, as a result, I only crawled to bed at 1 plus.

Eaarly in the morning at 7, was dragged up by my mum from cosy bed. It's my cousin's wedding today, gonna head to his house to witness the journey of the happy couple.

Get myself prepared and dolled up, and we are ready to go.

Arriving at cousin's place.

I could instantly feel the happiness arising from the atmosphere. The gate were filled with balloons to welcome the guests, the red carpet for the groom and bride to walk on.

Very impressive isn't it?

Let me bring you around to see the newlyweds' room.

The bed was placed with a plate of oranges, lotus seeds and other fruits as an omen of fertility.

Wooden clogs, slippers and a set of washbasins were placed in the room. This is also known as buckets of off-spring 子孙桶.

The sun is shinning bright in the sky. Time checked, it's 8.50am. The newlyweds will be arriving soon at 9.30am.

Love my makeup done on the day. Though my makeup was done in a madly rush, but I'm still looking good with it ♥

Another camwhoring shot. Realised I haven been taking camwhoring shots nowadays. Kinda of miss it, I will try to take more now.

Many of my relatives also commented that I looked so different today, some couldn't recognised me and asked my mum why didn't I come. Lol, do I really look so different without my spectacle and in makeup???

Siew Cheng looked so stunning and beautiful, just like a princess from a fairytale story.

Following next, is the tea ceremony.

Some of the things to look out for during tea ceremony:

The bride will have to stand on the right side of the groom. The male elder being served will sit facing the bride while the female elder will sit facing the groom. The bride and groom will then bow to the elders and greet them by their formal title in the family while serving them tea.

After the tea ceremony, the bride and groom then made their way for outdoor photoshoot.

We wish you happiness and blissful marriage.

After doing some catching up with my relative, we headed home for a rest before going to the dinner.

Headed down to Firefly after I departed with Steffi. It took me like 1 hour to travel from City Hall to Orchard. I'm so heng man, the train service at red line is down,there is no train service. Omg, that is the first time I'm experiencing such encounter. But nevertheless, I'm still on time for Guinness Live.

Went down to lend my support Yong Wei.

Meet up with GF and walked over to Marriot Hotel.

What is Guinness Live without a glass of Guinness beer?

With the usual. I'm sure you will find them familiar.

I personally find that Firefly is a nice chill out place for drinks with friends.

Meet the Queen Band which made up of a group of talented teacher.

The 2 contestants - Yong Wei and Siling with their mentors.

First up is Yong Wei from Dragonfly, bringing 纸飞机.

It's a month since I last saw his performance and he definitely improved on it. He is not as nervous as before and more actions can be seen.

His dressing had also improved after being told off the other time. He even had his tie on. Good job.

Next up is Siling from Firefly, with the song 一只小雨伞.

This is one of the Hokkien songs that I liked, a song that I loved singing with my friends.

Siling has sang the Hokkien song well, lifted up the atmosphere of the club.

Hmm, even the mentors shared the same thoughts too.

We were joking about at below, saying that he should had state that the song is dedicated to us before he sang.

She is really good at choosing songs, she sang them really well.

Yong Wei has improved a lot too. I'm sure with more practice, he will strive even better. Jiayou!

Mingle around after the performance ended, it's time for our sharing and catch up session. Have a great laugh over all the stuffs only we understand. Lol. Good friends are the people who understand what the joke is all about when other people don't.

Ah Li San Porridge Session with Friends

On a Sunday evening, I have a meetup session with my blogger friends. for dinner Was feeling unwell that day, oh no, I'm going to fall sick soon. But despite that, I still headed down for the meetup as I make a promise to them.

We made our way down to Ah Li San Porridge which is located at Kovan, best known for its Teochew Muay.

The stall is highly recommended by Jess, we decided to try it out. We ordered a few dishes and share it together.

Blogger's habit. We love snapping pictures at all time.

Having a simple dinner together with your friends can be an enjoyable affair too - sharing your thoughts and jokes, laughing out loud together.

As the night is still young, we headed over to Nex for another round of dessert.

Well, the flavour is rather special. I think I would still preferred the original one.

Was in my simple wear and no makeup. This is also how I looked like back in school days, T-shirt, shorts and slipper is the icon.

That's how I spend my Sunday night, spending quality time with friends.

My friends and I attended a closed door event organized by Mediacorp - "A Song To Remember 星州之夜" A 1930s Evening.

The purpose of this event is to generate awareness for their upcoming China drama blockbuster, A Song To Remember which is based in the 1930s.

When arriving at Zouk, the place has been nicely set up in the 1930s theme. I felt like I have taken a time machine which transported me to the 1930s era.

Before we immersed ourselves into the 1930s nightlife, lets fill our stomach with the wide varieties of food.

Upon registration, we were also given 10 chips which we can used for playing games later.

After our dinner, we decided to head down and check out the booth.

First stop, we spotted Kachang Puteh man. You can easily identify him through the display of many different types of nuts and the cone shape packaging.

Cheongsam wore by the artistes in the show were also displayed out.

Samantha was at the event too, have not seen her for quite a long time.

So we grabbed this opportunity for photo-taking.

Tried playing Roulette.
A casino game where players may choose to place bets on either a single number or a range of numbers, the colors red or black, or whether the number is odd or even.

Simply love this game.

Admitted I lost a few rounds on and off initially. But after that, my luck started to come after studying and changing of tactics. I have even won 3 rounds straight.

Hate that I am not a risk taker. If I bet more, I will have won even more.

Switch to dice game.

Not really familiar with this so I only bet on Big and Small.

Not only that, we have 1930s dance and live singing performance by Shi Xinhui 石欣卉.

I really got the feel that I am back to 1930s era where I get to experience the nightlife of the early days.

Due to my hectic schedule, I had only watched a few episodes so far. I must say I enjoyed watching the plot. Will continue to support the drama.

The Final Contest - Auction time!

Numerous Takashimaya vouchers to be given out to the owner with the highest bid.

We didn't bid for the others but quietly waited for the grand prize which is $300 Takashimaya vouchers .

We have so much fun bidding for it. We were astounished but the number of people bidding for it and the number of chips being called up. Another groups od guys approached me and ask if I want to join force with them. So we combined all our chips together.

Guess what?

We have successfully bidded the auction with 450 chips. Yeah yeah, we won the first prize $300 vouchers.

After splitting up, we got ourselves $100 vouchers.

We have an awesome mad time at the theme party. Thanks Mediacorp for hosting such a great event. Do remember to catch the drama "A song to remember 星州之夜" on channel 8 at 9pm every weekday.

Christmas Indulgence with Palais

I had a merry-making evening with the girls at Palais where we indulge ourselves in delectable canapes and sparkling wine.

We have our first early Christmas Indulgence. It set our mood and get us ready to welcome the festive.

Hong Kong iBean Soya Beancurd

Thanks Yong Wei for organising this Soya Beancurd session. What beats having a Tao Huay on a cool rainy days. So we made our way down to Golden Mile Food Centre, 505 Beach Road to have our dessert session at Hong Kong iBean.

We are so glad to have Jacky, the lady boss's son, with us that day. He shared with us the story and the journey of iBean.

The family had spent months trying to engineer the perfect modernized beancurd pudding, that would cater to all, regardless of age.

Success doesn't come by easy, Jacky's whole family was their mum's guinea pig, they have to try out the best taste of beancurd made my her every day.

There are 5 different flavours of beancurd pudding available:

- Original
- Almond
- Green Tea

- Strawberry
- Durian

Of all, I actually love the durian flavour. In fact, I'm not someone who love durain. I will shoo away from it. But just one mouthful down and I fall in love with the durian beancurd. It is super delicious and the amount of durian added is just right. It tastes even better in second mouth. We help ourselves to our 2nd durian beancurd, we just couldn't stop ourselves with it. Seems like everyone shared the same thinking too because the durian flavour are all sold out every single day.

The original flavour, almond, strawberry and the green tea beancurd taste equally good as well. The texture is so smooth, easily glided down my throat. I love their creativeness on coming out with the 2 new flavours - strawberry and green tea. It's just so special about them, no other stores (not that I know of) have come up with these flavours.

The soup is thick and creamy. Moreover, it is super rich in taste, making it perfect.

Next up is Chicken Livers & Portuguese Roll.
Flame-seared Chicken Liver serving with mild peri-peri gravy. Lets dig the Portuguese Roll into the gravy now!

The mild flavour seemsl just right for me. It satisfies my appetite.

The hot peri-peri flavour is good as well, the HOT spice up all our appetite.

The flame-grilled chicken with mild peri-peri sauce is no doubt a good combination. The chicken is rich in sauce and very tender. I'm enjoying the mild flavour now.

Another unique dish served in a traditional copper dish with chicken strips, ripe tomatoes and spice rice filled in it.

Lost count of how many chicken meat we have, and I'm still not sick of it.

Natas (egg tart look alike). A traditional Portunguese pastry topped with zesty custard.
Initially at the sight of it, I thought it is egg tart. I'm hooked on to it.

Caramel Cheesecake. Muscovado sugar smothered in rich and creamy caramel. Love the sweetness.

Chocolate Cruch Roll. The melted milk choclate is mixed with biscults. It taste pretty good. Awesome for chocolate lovers as it is rich in chocolate.

Lighten Up Chocolate Cake. It is light and airy, like a cloud of chocolate that melts in your mouth.

Cuppuccino goes well with dessert.

Thanks GF and Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore for the invitation to the press event where APBS shared with us their upcoming Chinese New Year 2012 plans.

The event took place at China One which is located at Clarke Quay.

Lets celebrate our lunar new year with tradition, communion and charity together with APBS.

APBS's theme of the Lunar New Year 2012 celebrations ties back to the essence of "聚" togetherness. A tradition for the Chinese who emphasized heavily on spending quality time with family and friends.

Keeping tradition alive, the lion dance.

ABC Extra Stout is partnering with Henry Ng, one of Singapore's last remaining lion makers, to pass on the traditional skill of lion-making to the next generation through a series of intensive workshops. 5 teams will each submit a design with a refreshed aesthetic, aimed at reinvigorating the link between heritage and Chinese New Year traditions.

The winner will be chosen to bring it's design to life under Henry's direction and the work will debut at the ABC Extra Stout Lion Dance Festival in Januray 2012.

Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2011

The biggest Asian Music Awards MAMA 2011 is happening in my home country, Singapore.

How I wish I could be at the Singapore Indoor Stadium cheering for my favourite groups and also to witness the biggest and greatest music awards of the year. Nevertheless, I'm able to watch it live on Channel U.

The Muppets Special Screening

Headed over to Cineleisure to meet up with my friends to catch The Muppets. Finally, it's yet another movie session with friends. I love watching movie with a big group of friends.

It's been quite a few since my last movie. (2 weeks ago, I guess.)

At the theatre, there is nice wallpaper and props for us to take photo with.

I like this photo of us, seems like one family portrait. A group of family that is going on vacation.

A good and touching movie.

After a long break, The Muppets finally reunite on scene again. The movie keeps us entertain and amuse at all time. We witnessed how the groups come together and overcome all obstacles they have faced, how they gain back the heart of the audiences.

Watching the movie with a big groups of friends served a deeper message. It encouraged us to work together towards a common goal. Teamwork conquers all diffculty and obstacles. Nothing is impossible and never be afraid to try out new things.

SMRT Makan Session with Ladyironchef‏

In celebration of the Circle Line network completion, today I'm here for another round of SMRT Circle Line 'Makan Session'.

Get ready our CEPAS card and join ladyironchef - Brad for a western cusine session.

This time round, we travelled to Botanic Garden to hunt for some of the good food here.

After a 10 minutes walk, we arrived at Swiss Grill Bistro, a restaurant recommended by ladyironchef.

Okay, enough of the talking. Time to dig into the foodilicious meal:

First up, we have grilled chicken burger.

One bite and I love it. The meat is thick and juicy!!!! It's way to delicious.

Mesclun Salad is next.

The salad is equally good as well, so fresh.

Chunky Fries.

Fries is something you cannot miss when having western cusine.

Somehow we find that the fries is a little salty than usual.

Another of my favourite burger - Grilled Cod Fish Burger.
The grilled buttery marinated cod is mixed with herbed mayo, cherry tomatoes and lettuce.

The cod fish meat is soft and tender. And the bread is crispy. Perfect combination!

Our 3rd burger: Swiss Portabello Burger.
Beef + Bacon + Mushroon + cheese = 4 varieties in a burger.

Mashed Potato.

It's very very creamy (:

Assorted Mini Sausages Platter.
Home made sausage platter served with purple cabbage. There are a total of 4 different sausages being served.

All taste equally good ♥

Last but not least, we have cream mushroom pasta.

Did I mention before cream pasta is my favourite pasta? Basically I love anything that is cream. That explains why I'm being rounder and rounder -_-

Thanks for reminding, I need to cut down on my diet.

I'm getting ready for the Singha Full Moon Party which is going to take place at one of the nightspots at Clarke Quay - Attica.

The host for tonight is VJ Utt, our favourite MTV.

Not only that, at Attica's courtyard, there is live performance of the amazing fire-breathers. Didn't manage to capture photo of that. My hands are busy with the drinks :P

Initially, I did not want to come to the party due to some personal reason.

But I'm so glad that I came, I have a fun time at the party.

Moral of the story: Never say never to party ♥
