Sanuk Thai Restaurant @ Goldhill Shopping Centre

Thailand is a country well loved by many Singaporeans because we simply love their food, shopping and exploring around. One thing I miss most is the Thai food that is affordable and delicious.

I'm always on the search for good, affordable and delicious food for weekend dine out. Today I found a new dinning place that sell affordable and delectable Thai food to share with you guys:

Sanuk Thai Restaurant
It is formally known as ThaiLily Restaurant that is situated at Goldhill Shopping Centre, Novena. Sanuk is actually a Thai word for fun and joy. Keeping this in mind, Sanuk Thai Restaurant hopes to create a casual and enjoyable dining place for the diners.

Sanuk Thai Restaurant is well loved by the working crowds at Novena during weekdays and a place for authentic Thai food gathering during weekend. They are known for their inexpensive prices. The price on menu is the price you pay, no service charge and GST. It is a great place to indulge yourself with all the delectable Thai food.

For the drinks selection, we opt for Thai Ice Green Tea with Milk ($3.20) and Thai Ice Tea with Milk ($3.00). We missed the Thai milk tea and the drinks satisfied our cravings, the taste and sweetness was just right.

Thai Ice Milk Tea is one of my favourite drinks and I will always ordered it whenever I patronized a Thai restaurant.

We have Tom Yam Chicken Soup with Coconut Milk.
With the coconut milk added to the Tom Yam Soup, it neutralized the spiciness of the soup and brought out the fragrance. It still maintained the distinct spicy and sour flavours of tom yam. The rich taste of the soup was so satisfying.

Not only was each mouthful burst with flavours, it was also filled with generous portion of chicken chunks and mushroom. The meat was tender and soaked well in the tom yam soup, the meat carried the spice taste when consumed.

Thai Prawn Cake for appetizer.
The prawn cake has a wonderful crispy skin on its exterior while the meat remained soft in the interior. Bite off the crispy edge and you will taste the delicious prawn meat in it. The prawn cake was so good to savour on its own and you can dipped the sauce for a enhanced taste.

We shared Phad Thai Seafood ($7.90).
Phad Thai is a common Thai food for many of us. We tossed the stir fried rice noodles with the peanuts to mix them well. The Phad Thai has a smooth texture, easy to glide down and delectable. So wonderful.

Rice with Basil Pork ($7.90).
This is one of the Thai dishes that I always ordered whenever I eat Thai food. I like that the basil pork was well tossed with chilli spices that enhanced the hot flavour of the dish. It was so tasty when consume together with the egg and rice. The sunny side up was cooked with the runny egg yolk. My way of eating was always to burst the egg and let the yolk drenched the white rice.

Next was Steamed Fish with Lemon Sauce.
The fish was fresh and the lemon sauce gravy has brought aromatic flavour to the steamed fish. I always prefer steamed fish than fried fish because it maintained the tastiness of the fish and immersing in the broth added sweetness to the fish. Besides that, the flesh of the fish was also very tender and smooth. Be cautious when consume the fish because they are quite a number of bones in it.

We had Minced Pork Omelette that was simply our favourite.
Both of us are egg lovers and the omelette has won our heart. The omelette has a charred edges and crispy border on the side while moist on the inside. It was also a popular dish in Thai restaurant.

We love seeing the table full of food so that we can try a little of everything.

We ended our meal with Butterfly Pea Soda Drink to ease our thirst.
It looked so nice to be drink. The butterfly pea created a magical effect that gave it purple and bluish colour. The use of light blub bottle made the coloured drink stand out with its beautiful shape.
The drink was refreshing and thirst quenching.

Enjoying good food does not necessary have to be a luxurious one. Dining in a casual setting taste equally good. If you happen to drop by Novena or a Thai food lover, drop by Sanuk Thai Restaurant and give it a try.

Thanks Sanuk Thai Restaurant for hosting us at the tasting.
