Happenings in November - Paradise Dynasty + Johor Bahru SDS Cafe + Equilibrium + Olive Vine

Tuesday 7/11/17

Feel the stress coming, exam is coming in exactly one week time and I am still not confident for the paper. Adding to my stress was also my work. My everyday routine is work, eat, study and sleep. Lunch and dinner is the time where I seek refuge from all the stress bothering me.

Today's lunch was at one of our regular dining place, Astons. As my exams are coming, I tried to cut down on eating fried food to prevent myself from getting heaty. I ordered spaghetti for my lunch instead of my usual choice, chicken chop and onion rings.

When order spaghetti, it will come with a fixed side dish of mushroom soup and garlic bread, my all time favourite soup.

I ordered Salmon spaghetti. It comes with generous portion of salmon that were well soaked in the gravy. I love it very much.

Saturday 11/11/17

I took a break from my revision and went Vivo City for dinner. Everywhere was so packed with people at Vivo because of Navy@Vivo going on. It was hard to find a place for dinner so we settled for Hong Kong Kim Gary Restaurant which has one of the shortest queue.

We ordered a cup of mango mosaic with pomelo drink for sharing at $6. We enjoyed the fruity sweetness.

I have seafood spaghetti with cream sauce. This dish was not to my liking, the taste started to get jelat after eating a few mouthful.

Friday 17/11/17

Hurray, I have finished my last paper and marked the start of my 2 months school holiday. I went back home after my paper ended at 12pm to rest before heading out to reward myself for a good meal.

We went Paradise Dynasty for a tea break at about 5pm. The outlet at Vivo City allows us to be treated to the beautiful sea view, too bad I wasn't sitting near the window.

We ordered 8 pieces mix flavour xiao long bao and 10 pieces original xiao long bao.
The best way to reward ourselves after hard work is to fill our tummy with delicious indulgence.

Crispy spring roll.
A mixture of sauce and vegetables were wrapped in a thin crispy roll, suitable for all ages.

Lotus egg salted egg bun.

The meal left us feeling really full till we have no room for dinner. We walked around the mall while digesting the food.

Christmas is just another month away, are you starting to feel the atmosphere with all the decor up?
Are you guys already planning on what to do for the festive season, the long weekend is coming.

I'm starting to love white top because it can easily match and mix with any colours. I am going to invest more in white and other colours rather than my favourite black. I have enough of black in my wardrobe.

We were not feeling hungry to have a full dinner so the 2 of us shared on crazy potato set meal at Long John Silver before heading home.

Saturday 18/11/17

Finally I can enjoy my weekend. The first place that I want to visit after school holiday began was Johor Bahru (JB). It has been more than a month since I last went in. I want to go in for dinner and dessert as well as shopping for thicker jacket to bring for my upcoming Taiwan trip.

Since our RM was running out, we changed our currency at JB Sentral at the rate S$1 : RM3.05.

We went to basement to check out the dining place and we settled on S.D.S Cafe.
S.D.S Group also has a bakery just located besides the cafe, you can drop by to buy their bread too.

SDS is well-recognized in Johor region for its quality confectionery products valuable for money. They served a wide array of items that includes cakes, western food, local food, casual dining and beverages.

We didn't have bubble tea today so we got Iced Honey Lemon (RM6.51++) instead.
The sour lemon has been compromised by the sweet honey, making the drink refreshing.

I had Grilled Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce (RM15++).
This is one of the most delicious chicken chop I ever have.  The seasoning and sauce made it so tasty especially when served piping hot.

We had a very satisfying dinner which cost RM58. Proceeding for dessert next.

We have a slice of cheesecake from Secret Recipe.

After satisfying our tummies, we were ready for shopping. I gotten myself a Blocktech Hoodie from Uniqlo. I have a hard time choosing the colour between black, pink or white. In the end I settled for the white.

We have  Horlicks McFlurry (RM5.99) at McDonald after we were done shopping. I wanted to try this because this flavour is not available in Singapore. It tasted delicious too.

Wednesday 22/11/17

It has been awhile since I last had Just Acia. It was once a dining place that I visited regularly because I love their free flow of drinks and ice cream served. It has been 5 months since I last visited Just Acia and I miss the taro ice cream, We visited Just Acia again to satisfy my cravings.

I ordered Spaghetti Aglio at $9.20+.

Having the cup of ice cream was simply so enjoyable, I have 2 rounds of ice cream before my cravings was satisfied.

Thursday 23/11/17

We patronized Equilibrium Capitol Piazza for lunch again since it has been awhile since we last visit. However, we found that the price for lunch set has increased by $2 to $15.90++. No wonder they did not display the lunch set price board at the outdoor now.

The set lunch comes with an appetizer. I only like the bread and cheese.

I have Risotto for my main course. The Riscotto was toppled with parmesan cheese and sausage. The taste was not too bad but could get very gelat after awhile.

Friday 24/11/17

Yeah, it's Friday. After our dinner, we went to nearby shopping mall for a walk since time was still early to call it a day.

We were cravings for bubble tea so we got a cup of bubble milk tea at LiHO. We got the bubble milk tea at $2 because they were having promotion for this flavour.

The main reason why we came out is to have the Mango Ice Cream French Toast from Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe. There was a promotion going on as well and we paid only $1.40 for the ice cream toast. So worth it right?

The toast was warm and together with the mango ice cream, the hot and cold combination was incredibly good.

Saturday 25/11/17

We left home pretty late today at about 4 plus because Robbie came over for a visit. It was my first time seeing Robbie, sorry that I missed your one month celebration.

We went over to Suntec City and this cute bear caught my attention. It reminds us that Christmas is approaching in exactly a month away. Have you start shopping for gifts?

While walking to Marina Square for dinner, we chanced upon Olive Vine Pasta Fusion and decided to try it out. I love this place because the price charged was wallet friendly and no service charge will be incurred.

I have creamy spaghetti with fish fillet. It was delicious and I cleared every bits of it.

We ended the dinner with a chocolate cake.
We have a satisfied dinner at $27.80 for 2 pax.

We ended our night with a mango cream puff from Chateraise. The filling was so smooth and not too sweet, just heavenly delicious. I always love their cream puff.

Cheapest Flight and AirAsia Promo via Traveloka Account

Travelling has been my latest hobby.
I love exploring different countries, visiting their places of interest, trying out their local food, understanding their culture, appreciating their architectures, enjoying the comfort stay in the hotels and taking airplanes.

With the festive season approaching and long weekend coming, I am sure many of us are looking to spend the long weekend overseas. I have the same intention too and the place I wish to travel to for a short getaway is Bangkok.

Reasons to visit Bangkok:

1. Shopping at Pratunam Market

This place is also Bangkok wholesale market.
The place is filled with shops along the sidewalks. Every stall got me fascinated, I was blew away by their wide range of fashion stalls available. Totally spoil for choice. The apparels were trendy too.

2. Trying the roadside stall's food

Roadside stall is a must try in Bangkok, it's part of their cultural. The fried squid eggs were served piping hot. They were fresh and tasty. They are cheap, delicious and convenient to get, sometimes even taste better than those serving in the restaurant or eatery.

3. Visiting their train market

To visit Rod Fai Ratchada, one of the best train market in Bangkok. They have many rows of stalls line up in the market selling street food, modern fashion and bars. Just prepare an empty stomach and eat all night long over there.

4. Photo opportunity at Terminal 21

Terminal 21 has a very interesting concept, every level has a different country theme that allows the shoppers to travel the world to several world-famous cities under one roof. It was as though I have stepped into different country departure terminal. Be sure to check out their toilet. So many cute decorations to take photo with.

5. Taking ferry ride to Asiatique The Riverfront

Asiatique The Riverfront houses many restaurants, boutiques and a night bazaar. The place is only opened at 5pm, so there is no need to come early. Coming here is all about shopping, eating and relaxing. You can even take the Asiatique Sky Ferris Wheel and get a bird eye view of Bangkok.

6. Going to Chatuchak Weekend Market

Chatuchak Weekend Market is marked as a must-visit place for tourists. It is home to more than 8,000 market stalls selling food, clothes, merchandise, bags, shoes, plants, furnitures and many more. There were so many stretch of stalls like the photo above like it's never ending. You can really shop till you drop, totally spoil for choices.

7. Having coconut ice cream

Coconut ice cream is something to have everyday when at Bangkok because of the scorching sun and hot weather. You need something cold to soothe yourself.

8. Satisfy cravings for Thai food

It's all about eating when come to Bangkok. The price here was also very affordable, the food was savory good with generous ingredients in it, totally value for money.

9. Visiting dog cafe

Animal cafes are on a rise worldwide, so we decided to take this opportunity to visit dog cafe during our trip. After doing some research, we chosen HOPs The House Of Paws Cafe which was near to us and located in Bangkok City.

**

All these experiences make me want to go back to Bangkok again. The first thing we need to do when planning overseas trip is to source for flights and accommodations. Recently, I was being introduced to this travel website that has everything we are looking for including flights and accommodations: Traveloka.

So I start to search the flight to Bangkok via Traveloka's website and it shows me a list of flights from various airlines, allowing me to choose the cheapest flights. It saves me the time to visit the individual airline's website to repeatedly key in the date of my trip and check the price. In one glance, I am able to spot the cheapest flights and the ideal flying time.

Besides that, AirAsia is having cheap and promo Air Asia Ticket Price.
You can get the best Airasia promotion and deals from Traveloka. Simply register your email and enjoy up to 70% member-only discount!

Traveloka allows us to know some of the promotions going on for AirAsia and insights to the cheapest flights available. It makes our research easier and save our money which we can use for our trip.

Flying to Asian countries seems so fuss free now with Traveloka.

The Sound of Music Opening Night

The legendary musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC has made a triumphant return to Singapore this November.

I was bursting with excitement upon receiving the invitation to watch the musical show. The Sound of Music is a show that I have been anticipating, I can't wait to reminisce all the familiar songs from 1965 movie.

The hills are alive, with the sound of music at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands. The show will be running from now to 3 December 2017.

Meet and greet with Singapore’s young actors and actresses who will take turn to play the coveted roles of six of the seven von Trapp children. These children will perform in rotation throughout the season as the small and cute Gretl, the brothers Friedrich and Kurt, as well as their sisters Marta, Brigitta, and Louisa.

Catching up with Linda on her Taiwan trip.
Thanks Linda for the photo.

The highly-acclaimed production comes from the home of West End musical theatre – the famous London Palladium.

The story took place in Austria where Maria, a nun-in-training, in an Abbey was being sent by Mother Abbess to the widowed Captain von Trapp's home and become the governess to the Captain's seven children.

With Maria coming into the family, she has changed the lives of the widowed Captain von Trapp and his seven children by re-introducing them to music.

The seven children are definitely the highlight of the musical. Other than the eldest child, Liesl, the remaining six children (Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta and Gretl) are played by Singapore's young talent. All of them did so well and very professionally. They were the stars of the night, amazed us with their vocal and act.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC touches the hearts of all ages and relives some of the most memorable songs including My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Edelweiss, The Lonely Goatherd, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and the title song The Sound of Music.

My favourite musical score is Do Re Mi.

Do-re-mi, do-re-mi
The first three notes just happen to be
Do-re-mi, do-re-mi

When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything

The musical ended with the family’s escape across the Austrian mountains as tensions rise prior to the outbreak of World War II.

The Sound of Music is a heart warming production that leave a deep impression in me. The legendary musical relives many familiar songs of the young and old. Watching the musical live is definitely different from watching the movie at home, it will make you want to sing along with them. Immerse yourself into the energetic performances through the whole musical.

Thanks for the great night, I truly enjoyed myself at the musical.

Catch the musical now at MasterCard Theatres @ Marina Bay Sands before the musical ended. Ticket price starts from $65 to $185. Click here for more information.

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye
Goodbye!
