Happenings in January - The Skin House Wrinkle Supreme Cream

Saturday 7/1/23

It has been quite awhile since I last had Din Tai Fung, I decided to revisit Din Tai Fung for some of my must order dishes. Since I have posted before some of the dishes, I will only introduce the dishes that I had for first time.

We ordered Sliced Duck in Crispy Spring Onion Pastry which featured a thin sliced of duck wrapped in the pastry. It cames in 6 pieces.

Ended off with Almond Pudding Coated With Black Sesame Dressing. The top layer was coated with black seasme dressing which complemented the strong almond pudding underneath with roasted notes and nutty taste.

Saturday 14/1/23

It has been two years since we last gathered in full strength, we gathered at Legendary Hong Kong at Rochester Commons for a dim sum lunch to celebrate GF's birthday in advance.

We ordered quite a number of dishes for sharing among 8 of us - char siew bun, beancurd roll, rice roll, fried prawn dumpling and etc.

Time to step up on slowing down aging process with The Skin House Wrinkle Supreme Cream as age catching up and fine lines showing up with you smile.

The anti-wrinkle function Cream is suitable for all skin types, especially for those who wants to improve and prevent wrinkles. It contains red ginseng which promotes elasticity and collagen, as well as 9 types of mushroom which is rich in antioxidants.

Just apply a small amount of the cream, spread it along the skin texture and neck. Initially I was worried the cream may have a strong scent of ginseng, but it turned out to be a mild pleasant scent which gave me a sense of relaxation. The cream has a heavier texture but it does not leave the skin feeling sticky after the application, it gave my skin a radiant boost, hydration and result in a firmer skin.

Tuesday 17/1/23

Met up with my friends after work, it was a mad rush because I was held up at work and only left office at 6.45pm. Nevertheless, I still managed to reach the same time as the rest as my traveling time was shorter.

The free flow buffet and milk tea at the cost of only $16.80 nett per pax.
The thing about having mookata was that we spent all our time grilling and eating the food, we hardly have the time to even talk to each other because we need to toss and turn the food. It was only after we finished the dinner, then we spent another hour talking.

Thursday 26/1/23

Happy Chinese New Year, I had my second lo hei at Tiffany Café & Restaurant @ Furama City Centre.
Welcome the year of rabbit with a prosperity start, tossing the yusheng as high as we can for a fantastic year of fortune.
The Best of Tiffany's Buffet Feast was disappointing as the selection was limited and overpriced at $42++ per pax. This was all I had at the buffet lunch, definitely not worth paying $42++.

Qingo Singapore: Online Rare Fruits Delivery

Online fresh fruit delivery has been getting more common in Singapore with everyone loving the convenience of having fresh fruits deliver straight to our door step, but offering rare exotic fruits are tough find.

I was introduced to Qingo Singapore, the largest fruits platform in Singapore that offers over 200+ varieties of fruits from all over the world, offering seasonal, tropical, to rare and exotic fruits with free next-day island-wide delivery for orders above $59.

I was delighted to receive a bundle of fresh fruits hand-picked by Qingo to try out. The bundle contained some of the exotic fruits that I have never seen before, it was definitely a unique fruit experience for me and my family.

China Fuji Apple 72 (中国富士苹果)

5 pieces per set ($4)

The China Fuji apple has a rosy red exterior and gave a light crisp when bite. The apple has a firm texture with sweet yellowish flesh. Not to mention, apple is rich in fiber and antioxidants, something that we have eat everyday.

Premium Millennial Cherry Tomatoes

400g per box ($5.90)

The vibrant colour of the cherry tomatoes steal my attention from the different packet of fruits, it seems delicious just by a look.

The red bright cherry tomato was soft and released juiciness with every bite, it contained a refreshing tangy flavour that makes it good munch on its own. It can be use to add in to salad or serve alongside with brunch.

Tian Shan Snow Lotus Root (雪莲果)

0.8kg to 1kg per packet ($4.90)

A specialty from Yunan. Among the fruits I received, this fruit looked the most unique to me based on appearance because it looked like an oversized potato to me rather than fruit. It was my first time seeing such fruit.

Despite the potato like appearance, the flesh resembled pear. The snow lotus root was juicy with mild sweetness, making it a light and refreshing fruit to have.

Winter Jujube (冬枣)

Winter jujube is another unique food for me. It has yellowish-green skin when immature and reddish brown when ripe.

With edible skin and crisp texture, jujube has an apple-like flavour with light tartness and suitable for people who does not like sweet fruit. It contained small seed in the middle, so remember to remove when consume.

China Hawthorn (中国红山楂)

300g per box ($4.90)

I often heard of this fruit when I watch China variety shows. Though I did not try hawthorn in Singapore before, I probably have tried it when I was in overseas as hawthorn is often used as one of the sugar coated fruits in Bing Tang Hu Lu (冰糖葫蘆), where the coated sweetness will cover up the natural sourness of hawthorn.

The appearance looked like mini apple with red skin and yellowish flesh, but with a mini seed in it.
The sour note hit me the moment I bite the fruit, leaving me squeeze my eyes shut. It has a stronger taste as compared to the other fruits that I have tried. I also cut some slices and put it in my water bottle for drinking. Hawthorn brings many health benefits such as lower blood pressure and cholesterol level.

China Hainan Rock Sugar Sweet Melon (中国海南冰糖蜜瓜)

2 pieces per set ($8.90)

Saving my favourite for the last. The sweet melon has bright yellow exterior and milky white flesh.

Living up to its name of sweet melon, the flesh of the melon was on a sweeter side from the rock sugar which is rich in vitamin. It was also very juicy on the inside. Definitely a refreshing indulgence to cool myself on a hot day.
