Happenings in June - Aveda Music Day Treats + Pot Addiction + Wedding Lunch + The Wine Company

Saturday 16/6/18

I met up with the girls in the late morning for Aveda Music Day Treats at Aveda Experience Centre in Takashimaya S.C, Ngee Ann City. It has been such a long time since our last girls outing, I missed it so much.

We were given options to choose the Music Day Treats we like to have, I picked on Soothing Classic.

My 10 minutes treatment started by breathing in Lavender Essential Oil, the comforting aroma helped to reduce the feeling of stress. It was followed by Piano Neck and Shoulder Massage, which helped to soothe senses and relieve muscle tension. Lastly, it was Ballot on the Scalp using Scalp Revitalizer to activate blood circulation and invigorate scalp.

A group photo of us after the treatment.
Today is also CK's birthday. Happy birthday, CK.

June is the birthday month for Jas and CK, GF, Meryl and I decided to use our $40 food vouchers each for steamboat to celebrate this special occasion. Jas's family, Kelvin and Yue Qing came to join us too.

We traveled to the North for Pot Addiction at Sun Plaza,  Sembawang. Pot Addiction is Singapore's first International Steamboat, BBQ and Mookata Buffet at affordable prices. All of us opt for the steamboat buffet.

Pot Addiction boasts a wide variety of ingredients that we can pick on. Looking at the ingredients made me drool, I was hungry.

Kelvin, GF, CK and I shared the pot together because we wanted the tom yam soup base. We opt for a spicy and non-spicy soup base.

While waiting for the soup to boil and the food to cook, we helped ourselves with the ready cooked food which was cold when consumed. It must have been left in the outside for quite sometimes.
With our vouchers utilised, we paid $16 per pax for the steamboat.

End the post with a 14 days beauty trial kit from Aveda.

I have started using it because my scalp is in need of deep cleansing. The scalp cleanser will help to exfoliate and create a clean scalp foundation for beautiful hair. Thanks Aveda for the gift.

Saturday 23/6/18

Congratulations to Bryan and Rainie on your wedding day. The couple has been through a 6 years journey before tying a knot together. Wishing you a happy marriage life.

The couple held their wedding lunch at The Fulleraton Hotel @ The Straits Room, it was a cozy affair with a about 9 tables.

I was the first to arrive, waiting for the rest.

Wedding lunch is always preferred than wedding dinner because the serving time is prompt and the lunch will end by 3.30pm or before.

The first dish was Hot and Cold Combination comprising of Jelly Fish with spicy dressing, Honey Glazed Roasted Pork, Crispy Vegetables Spring Roll, Roasted Duck and Deep Fried Prawn coated with spice pumpkin.

I love that the dish was served in individual portion and everyone get equal share.

Second dish was soup served in this ancient looking bowl, it was so unique. Instantly, I have the feeling of transporting back to the ancient palace time where the royalty enjoy their soup in the prestige bowl.

Double-boiled Cordyceps Fungus, Red Dates and Dried Scallop in Chicken Consumme.
The soup has so delicious with mild herbal taste. The chicken was very soft and tender, it may have been boiled for a long time.

The remaining dishes that were served.
We ended the lunch with Chilled Cream of Mango with Pomelo. The lunch indeed ended around 3.30pm. It was time to meet my date for an outing.

Wearing a new dress out today. I got this black dress during my Hong Kong's trip.
I rarely wear long dress, but now I begin to love it. It bring out a different feel, comfortable to wear and does not portray too casually. The black dress is also stretchable and flatter at the right place.

It's been a long time since we dressed up for dating, we usually prefer dressing casually. Dressing up also mean photo time.

We went back to Bf's favourite place for dinner, The Wine Company @ Sentosa Broadwalk. We love here because it is a nice place to chill out with scenery of the harbour and their food is really good. We love the laidback vibe, my only grip was the dim surrounding which makes photo taking a little challenging.

We ordered Soft Shell Crab ($12.90++) for sharing.
The crunchy sound can be heard with every bite of the soft shell crab, the crispy exterior was airy and light. We enjoyed it.

I have Carbonara Spaghetti ($12.90++) for my main course.
The spaghetti was served al dente with sautéed bacon and mushroom in cream sauce. The spaghetti absorbed the sauce well and you could taste the creamy sauce in every bite. Eat it fast before you can gelat.

Another OOTD shot.
The black dress comes with another layer of lining in it. The material is quite thin and light-weight, making it comfortable to wear around.

Wednesday 27/6/18

I was glad I was on leave today so that I could took a break from work. I worked until 10.40pm the night before, 14 hours at work. Yesterday marked the longest hours I ever stayed in office. When will this madness period be over?

The reason why I took leave today was to accompany mummy to Johor Bahru (JB). It has been 11 years since her last visit to JB. Knowing that she is unfamiliar with the route there, I decided to join her to JB and visit my aunt.

We arrived at Ban Ban Street at 10am to take the Singapore-Johor taxi in to JB at S$55. It was so expensive but mummy doesn't want to squeeze through the custom and prefer sitting through out. Hence, we went for the taxi service.

We arrived at Restoran Pekin Sutera @ Sutera Mall for lunch. Before coming here, we went to Aunt's house. We came here for lunch because mummy wanted food from Chinese restaurant.

The dishes selected by mummy. This meal was definitely not cheap, it cost RM380 for 6 pax. The steep price was contributed by the fish we ordered, the dish itself cost RM160. Wow!

After the lunch, we went to Verbena Confectionery to get some bread before leaving the place. Feeling a little disappointed that I couldn't explore around the mall as mummy wanted to head home, I gonna come back again to explore the place next time round.

Saturday 30/6/18

I'm always so happy whenever Saturday is here because it is outing day. Spending our day out in Singapore is rather routine, we always found ourselves at the same old places. We went to Marina Square for a walk.

The Float was having NDP rehearsal, a bit sad that I couldn't score a ticket to watch NDP live. I always have no luck when come to balloting or lucky draw.

Pondering on whether to have dinner at Chic-a-boo or Hifumi, we settled for the latter in the end.

The selection of free flow appetizer was rather limited. We took chawanmushi, potato, tuna with bread and crabmeat tempura.

I have Kimchi Toji Ebi Fry for my main course ($13.99++).
The batter of the ebi was crispy and crunchy. Drenching it into the kimchi broth for extra kick in the taste.

We ended our meal with macha dessert, I prefer this than the ice cream because the sweetness for this was just right.

June has finally to an end, it has been a very hectic month for me. I need a break, please.

Thanks Pacific West for the lovely gesture. Looking at the packaging made me want to try the food. A perfect way to sample Pacific West's range of seafood delights in a convenient pack.We have decided to try out Seafood Combo and Cod Fingers.

We took the ingredients out to defrost before frying it in a pan.

The Seafood Combo was everybody's favourite.
The array of seafood treats which includes tempura fish cocktails, tempura prawn, tempura calamari rings and tempura scallops allows us to enjoy a variety of delights all at once.

The Cod Fingers on the other hand consists of Natural fish portions in light crispy crumbs. It was equally nice too.

With the range of seafood products from Pacific West, we can have a hearty and satisfying meal at home too. Pacific West's products are available at Fairprice.

Saturday 2/6/18

Spent the first half of day playing with the kids because my bro brought them here for a visit. Chocolate and toys were enough to keep them company.

Bonding time for Amber and Great Grandma.
Definitely a heart warming moment where 4 generation mingle together.

Headed out to Orchard in the late afternoon.
Craving for the old school ice cream cone so we purchased from the motorbike uncle. The ice cream was so delicious and flavoursome.

Sunday 3/6/18
We went HarbourFront McDonald to try out their new seasonal menu.
First up was Matcha McFlurry with mini Oreo. We love the Matcha McFlurry as the amount of sweetness was just right.

We also tried the Hokkaido Salmon Burger.
It turned out to be good with the Salmon patty being juicy, it was accompanied with shredded white cabbage, sliced onions and sandwiched between a soft black and white sesame bun.

Thursday 7/6/18

I was at Raffles City today for the first half of the day. It was my first time going up to the tower and was treated to an amazing view from the office.

I have an amazing view of Singapore's landscape from the top, it looked so beautiful. I can't stop myself from looking out at the scenery.

Since I was around City Hall area, I decided to go Suntec City to find GF for lunch.

I have started using the Bottega Veneta Shampoo and Conditioner from Fullerton Bay Hotel that GF has given me. I like that the smell that linger on my hair for a long time even after shower.

Saturday 9/6/18

Our weekend date began slighter earlier than usual. As we were at Golden Mile Complex, we decided to drop by Happy Ice Dessert Café for dessert. Golden Mile Complex is known as Little Thailand of Singapore, the complex is housed to many Thai shops including Thai food, Thai club, Thai supermarket and etc. I was attracted by their signboard display which showed a wide selection of desserts available, ranging from Bingsu to Shibuya Toast, Waffles with Ice Cream and Eggettes.

We spent our afternoon chilling in the cafe. I love the teddy bears decor, it made the cafe looked cozy and homely.

We ordered Shibuya Toast with Strawberry and Chocolate Ice Cream ($11.90).
The toast was fluffy while the ice cream was soft, it was perfect. The dessert was satisfying, I have been craving for Shibuya Toast ever since I missed it during the Siamese Cat Café food tasting.

We went down to Bugis after the dessert and we met Kim Jong-un impersonator outside Bugis+. He arrived in Singapore for Trump-Kim summit. He indeed look alike, a friendlier version of Kim. I was walking down the escalator and he was heading up the escalator, I was omg this guy look so familiar, I thought Kim Jong-un impersonator has been detained by ICA, why is he here?

Sunday 10/6/18

Father's Day is just round the corner, to avoid the crowds. We celebrated one week earlier with bf family at the neighbourhood zi char stall.

We ordered quite a few dishes for sharing.
The highlight was Preserved Turnip Steamed Fish. The preserved turnip has added fragrance to the fish and crunchiness to the texture. I ordered Mango Fried Chicken, the mango added sweetness to the chicken. We should have dinner more often.

Friday 15/6/18

So happy that it was long weekend, it's Hari Raya Puasa. å§‘姑 and 姑丈 came over to visit us in the afternoon. They just came back from their Hong Kong's family trip on 13 June. 姑姑 bought us cookies from Hong Kong and also shared with us their trip experience to Hong Kong.

They bought us Conte De Cookie, there were different cookie flavours and all of them were super nice. I am a cookie lover.

We had our dinner at Char Grill Bar, I ordered Fried Rice with Pork Chop at $5.50. The pork chop was flavoursome with the sauce drizzled, the fried rice was tasty too.

Recently, I switched my cleanser to Cathy Doll Ready 2 White 2in1 Bubble mousse cleanser which I have gotten from Sample Store.

The Mousse Cleanser has an intense mousse texture which readily removes impurities and dissolves waterproof makeup throroughly. It is rich in grapefruit and white grape extracts, which are powerful antioxidants and sources of Vitamin C.

The mousse has a foamy texture that is soft on skin. I like that the all in one mousse cleanser can remove makeup stains such as remains of eye liner and bb crean, leaving our skin clean and comfortable with no tight feeling.

That's all for today's sharing, I will be back for more sharing.

Burger King Striploin Steak Night

What beats welcoming the start of the week with a feast with Burger King?

Burger and beef lovers will be happy to know that Burger King has introduced a latest addition to the Ultimate Selection:
Ultimate Striploin Steak Mushroom Swiss Burger

The Ultimate Striploin Steak Mushroom Swiss Burger is only available for a limited period, do try it before it is gone. It's hard to find a full slab of striploin in a burger. It is available in Burger King from 5 June 2018 onwards, while stocks last.

The striploin steak, bursting with Burger King's signature flame-grilled flavour is toppled with the all-time favourite savoury combination of sauteed mushrooms and creamy melted Swiss cheese. They are sandwiched between a corn-dusted sourdough bun and garnished with sweet caramelised onions, fresh tomatoes and crunchy Batavia lettuce.

The Ultimate Striploin Steak Mushroom Swiss Burger value meal is served with thick cut fries and Coke Zero at the price of $11.90, you can opt to change the fries to onion rings too.

Apart from the Ultimate Striploin Steak Mushroom Swiss Burger, we were treated to a bowl of side dishes to go with our burger - nuggets, onion rings and French fries.

I love their onion rings the best. The bite size crispy onion rings got me addicted and we finished it in no time.

Burger King has also introduced Ultimate Tendercrisp Chicken Burger ($7.50 for ala carte or $8.90 for value meals).

Live up to the name of 'Ultimate Tendercrisp Chicken Burger', the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The patty was topped with Swiss cheese, Turkey Ham, crispy Turkey Bacon, Batavia Lettuce and creamy Mayo sandwiched in between Corn Dusted Sourdough buns.

The burger was spicy good with so many ingredients filled in it. The mayo has balance out the spiciness of the chicken, giving it a hot and tangy taste.

Never say no to ice cream.
I ended the tasting with a sweet finish by having a Strawberry Sundae.

Thanks GF for bringing me to the tasting.
It was a nice catch up at Burger King @ Cineleisure.
