Happenings in October and November - Injury Updates + Yi Xiang and Tracy's Wedding

Wednesday 2/10/19

Today is the day I went to hospital for my doctor appointment, my first time going out of the house using crutches. By the time I walked to the lift from my door step, I already felt my right leg weakened and I have no energy to hop until the pick-up area at level 1. What used to be just a mere 2 minutes walk become a tough chore for me now, I was totally exhausted.

I borrowed a wheelchair while at the hospital because I seriously can't walk with one leg. After registration, I was being asked to go to the plaster room where the staff helped me to remove my current cast and to wait for doctor to review my case. The doctor reviewed my x-ray taken last week and said that the crack is quite large, I will need to cast my leg for another 3 weeks and come back for x-ray again.
The staff helped me to wrap a new cast which is wrapped higher than before, he pasted 2 stickers on my cast to cheer me up.

After the tea break, I went back to office to bring my laptop home to work. Being handicapped now, I unable to even walk up to my office and I have to get my colleague to help me bring my laptop down. I have to learn many things all over again.

2019 hasn't been good to me, there are more bad things happening compared to the good ones. I felt really shitty deep inside me, there is no way that I won't feel heavy inside me. While I am in my bad shape, I was blessed to have my family members supporting me, especially my mother, who work around the clock to take care of me. Knowing that there are people who have my back, it gives me strength to look beyond the bad and keep myself moving forward.

Monday 21/10/19

Here comes the day for my second review.

Knowing that I have a hard time making my way out using crutches, I learnt my lesson this time round. Prior the review, I loaned this wheelchair from my uncle so that I can make my way to hospital using it.

Today's duration in hospital was slightly longer as I had a few stations to go to. My first appointment  was at 1.45pm to the x-ray departments which I waited for more than half an hour for my turn, next was doctor's review followed by to the plaster department to remove my cast (also waited for more than half an hour).

After removing the cast, I went to the rehab shop to purchase the air cast walking boot which provide moderate support and compression for forefoot, mid-foot and hind foot injuries. The downside of the walking boot is the hefty price which cost a few hundred dollars, but with this walking boot, I am able to start learning on how to walk again. This will aid in faster healing, which is why I proceed to purchase the walking boot despite the price.

Finally everything was settled at 5.30pm, we stopped by at Kaki Makan for a drink and toasts session before heading home.

Tuesday 22/10/19

Here's how my foot looked like after removing the cast the next day, the foot was swollen and there was bruised caused by the hard cast. Not only that, my left leg has shrink in size as compared to my right left due to the long duration of being wrapped in the hard cast.

Being unable to walk for a month, I have totally forgotten how to even walk. I am too used to hop around and I can't change this habit. It took me quite a while to take my first step with the helps of the walking boot and crutches to steadily balance myself.

Saturday 26/10/19

Here comes Tracy and Yi Xiang big day.
I was supposed to be one of Tracy's bridesmaids but due to my  current condition, I am unable to perform my duties and so will just be attending as a guest.

It feel like years since I last dolled up and dressed up to head out, I missed this side of me and missed hanging out so much. It's been a long time since I spotted livelihood in me. Everyday was just staying at home, no one will care about my image and dressing.

My mobility is still an issue, I still required the crutches to support me in walking while wearing the air cast boot. Going to the wedding venue is an issue for me, I need support in my movement and getting in to the car. I am so thankful for the help of my buddies, Jasmine and Ryden, who came over to my place to fetch me to Orchard Hotel. Without a second thought, they willingly lend me their helping hands when I asked for their help. Thanks Jasmine and Ryden for being there for me when I need you.

Another person I want to thank is CK. She was sitting besides me during the banquet and she has been very helpful looking out for me. She will help me to pull my chair whenever I need to stand up or sit down. CK also served me food when the dishes arrived. All these sweet gestures made me feel glad that she was sitting besides me.

We managed to arrive at about 1pm. Tracy arranged for my table to be seated at the second table for the stage so that we will have a good view of the stage. This also mean that the aisle from the entrance to our table is a distance away. While I was walking in with my crutches, I bowed my head low and just looked at the floor because I felt that lots of attention was on me. Even my friends were shocked to see me in such a bad shape.

A group photo with CK, Linda and Jasmine, so nice to see them again.

First up was Orchard Deluxe Combination where my favourite were Golden Treasure Roll, Drunken Chicken with Chinese Wine and Crispy Roasted Pork.
Next was Sliced Chicken and Scallop with Capsicum and Broccoli, followed by Steamed Goby with Soya Sauce

The bride always looked the prettiest on their wedding day, Tracy's long navy maxi dress bring a touch of elegance. It was so touching seeing my friends walking down the aisle.

The family members, relatives, brothers, sisters of bride and groom were invited up on stage for the wedding toast. Yum Seng!

Other dishes include Braised Voluta and Sea Cucumber with SpinachStewed Pork Ribs and Mango Puree with Pamelo and Sago.

My seating partner on the other side was Dawn, it's been a year since I last saw her.

The dish that was well loved by everyone in our table was Crispy Flower Bun with Chilli Crabmeat Sauce. The chilli crabmeat sauce is the perfect dip to go with the crispy bun, making the bun tasted more delicious with the spice infused into it.

The two influencers' tables have a combined group photo together. It was an amazing friendship forged out of blogging and they have become one of the most important people in my life.

After the banquet lunch, Jasmine and Ryden sent me home safety. Words can't emphasize my thankfulness to them.

I felt relived the moment I reached home. First time out of house for so long besides going to hospital.  Now I yearned for a good soak of my leg to relieve the muscle and swollen leg. I guess time will heal my condition, the only thing I can do is to wait.

Saturday 2/11/19

GF came over to my house to visit me and also to bring me the souvenirs from Seattle.

GF got me some souvenirs for Halloween. I love the socks especially. Thanks so much for all the gifts.

Wednesday 13/11/19
Baby Teddie came over to our house today. She is already 5 months old now, the last time we saw her was when we were at her first month celebration.

Monday 18/11/19

Here comes my third review. It was the same timing and same procedure as the last time. This time round, the people queuing for x-ray was lesser and it was my turn in less than half an hour.

The doctor said that my wound was healing and has discharge my case, but to fully recover, it might take half a year. I can remove my air cast walking boot and practice walking without it. I still can't walk very well due to swollen leg and I can't put too much pressure when walking, hence I can be seen limping when I walk.

Time to head back to work on 21 Nov.

Wednesday 20/11/19

姑姑 came over again to bring us the snacks that KP got for us from her Osaka trip.

KP got us Wasabi Peanuts, Banana Manju and Ichiran Ramen. Thanks for getting us these gifts from Osaka.

My favourite was the Wasabi Peanuts with the peanut was coated with wasabi crunchy shell. It was delicious but beware of the wasabi kick that will stimulate our nasal passage, best to have it when we are having nose block, it will definitely clear our blockage.

Happenings in June - Aveda Music Day Treats + Pot Addiction + Wedding Lunch + The Wine Company

Saturday 16/6/18

I met up with the girls in the late morning for Aveda Music Day Treats at Aveda Experience Centre in Takashimaya S.C, Ngee Ann City. It has been such a long time since our last girls outing, I missed it so much.

We were given options to choose the Music Day Treats we like to have, I picked on Soothing Classic.

My 10 minutes treatment started by breathing in Lavender Essential Oil, the comforting aroma helped to reduce the feeling of stress. It was followed by Piano Neck and Shoulder Massage, which helped to soothe senses and relieve muscle tension. Lastly, it was Ballot on the Scalp using Scalp Revitalizer to activate blood circulation and invigorate scalp.

A group photo of us after the treatment.
Today is also CK's birthday. Happy birthday, CK.

June is the birthday month for Jas and CK, GF, Meryl and I decided to use our $40 food vouchers each for steamboat to celebrate this special occasion. Jas's family, Kelvin and Yue Qing came to join us too.

We traveled to the North for Pot Addiction at Sun Plaza,  Sembawang. Pot Addiction is Singapore's first International Steamboat, BBQ and Mookata Buffet at affordable prices. All of us opt for the steamboat buffet.

Pot Addiction boasts a wide variety of ingredients that we can pick on. Looking at the ingredients made me drool, I was hungry.

Kelvin, GF, CK and I shared the pot together because we wanted the tom yam soup base. We opt for a spicy and non-spicy soup base.

While waiting for the soup to boil and the food to cook, we helped ourselves with the ready cooked food which was cold when consumed. It must have been left in the outside for quite sometimes.
With our vouchers utilised, we paid $16 per pax for the steamboat.

End the post with a 14 days beauty trial kit from Aveda.

I have started using it because my scalp is in need of deep cleansing. The scalp cleanser will help to exfoliate and create a clean scalp foundation for beautiful hair. Thanks Aveda for the gift.

Saturday 23/6/18

Congratulations to Bryan and Rainie on your wedding day. The couple has been through a 6 years journey before tying a knot together. Wishing you a happy marriage life.

The couple held their wedding lunch at The Fulleraton Hotel @ The Straits Room, it was a cozy affair with a about 9 tables.

I was the first to arrive, waiting for the rest.

Wedding lunch is always preferred than wedding dinner because the serving time is prompt and the lunch will end by 3.30pm or before.

The first dish was Hot and Cold Combination comprising of Jelly Fish with spicy dressing, Honey Glazed Roasted Pork, Crispy Vegetables Spring Roll, Roasted Duck and Deep Fried Prawn coated with spice pumpkin.

I love that the dish was served in individual portion and everyone get equal share.

Second dish was soup served in this ancient looking bowl, it was so unique. Instantly, I have the feeling of transporting back to the ancient palace time where the royalty enjoy their soup in the prestige bowl.

Double-boiled Cordyceps Fungus, Red Dates and Dried Scallop in Chicken Consumme.
The soup has so delicious with mild herbal taste. The chicken was very soft and tender, it may have been boiled for a long time.

The remaining dishes that were served.
We ended the lunch with Chilled Cream of Mango with Pomelo. The lunch indeed ended around 3.30pm. It was time to meet my date for an outing.

Wearing a new dress out today. I got this black dress during my Hong Kong's trip.
I rarely wear long dress, but now I begin to love it. It bring out a different feel, comfortable to wear and does not portray too casually. The black dress is also stretchable and flatter at the right place.

It's been a long time since we dressed up for dating, we usually prefer dressing casually. Dressing up also mean photo time.

We went back to Bf's favourite place for dinner, The Wine Company @ Sentosa Broadwalk. We love here because it is a nice place to chill out with scenery of the harbour and their food is really good. We love the laidback vibe, my only grip was the dim surrounding which makes photo taking a little challenging.

We ordered Soft Shell Crab ($12.90++) for sharing.
The crunchy sound can be heard with every bite of the soft shell crab, the crispy exterior was airy and light. We enjoyed it.

I have Carbonara Spaghetti ($12.90++) for my main course.
The spaghetti was served al dente with sautéed bacon and mushroom in cream sauce. The spaghetti absorbed the sauce well and you could taste the creamy sauce in every bite. Eat it fast before you can gelat.

Another OOTD shot.
The black dress comes with another layer of lining in it. The material is quite thin and light-weight, making it comfortable to wear around.

Wednesday 27/6/18

I was glad I was on leave today so that I could took a break from work. I worked until 10.40pm the night before, 14 hours at work. Yesterday marked the longest hours I ever stayed in office. When will this madness period be over?

The reason why I took leave today was to accompany mummy to Johor Bahru (JB). It has been 11 years since her last visit to JB. Knowing that she is unfamiliar with the route there, I decided to join her to JB and visit my aunt.

We arrived at Ban Ban Street at 10am to take the Singapore-Johor taxi in to JB at S$55. It was so expensive but mummy doesn't want to squeeze through the custom and prefer sitting through out. Hence, we went for the taxi service.

We arrived at Restoran Pekin Sutera @ Sutera Mall for lunch. Before coming here, we went to Aunt's house. We came here for lunch because mummy wanted food from Chinese restaurant.

The dishes selected by mummy. This meal was definitely not cheap, it cost RM380 for 6 pax. The steep price was contributed by the fish we ordered, the dish itself cost RM160. Wow!

After the lunch, we went to Verbena Confectionery to get some bread before leaving the place. Feeling a little disappointed that I couldn't explore around the mall as mummy wanted to head home, I gonna come back again to explore the place next time round.

Saturday 30/6/18

I'm always so happy whenever Saturday is here because it is outing day. Spending our day out in Singapore is rather routine, we always found ourselves at the same old places. We went to Marina Square for a walk.

The Float was having NDP rehearsal, a bit sad that I couldn't score a ticket to watch NDP live. I always have no luck when come to balloting or lucky draw.

Pondering on whether to have dinner at Chic-a-boo or Hifumi, we settled for the latter in the end.

The selection of free flow appetizer was rather limited. We took chawanmushi, potato, tuna with bread and crabmeat tempura.

I have Kimchi Toji Ebi Fry for my main course ($13.99++).
The batter of the ebi was crispy and crunchy. Drenching it into the kimchi broth for extra kick in the taste.

We ended our meal with macha dessert, I prefer this than the ice cream because the sweetness for this was just right.

June has finally to an end, it has been a very hectic month for me. I need a break, please.

Kelvin and Jessie's Solemnization at Fullerton Bay Hotel

Today marks the day where my best friend is moving on to the next phase of life with the love of her life, they have been together ever since I know them back in 2011. It was my pleasure to attend her solemnization ceremony and shared her happiness.

I woke up early in the morning to prepare myself as I wanted to be there early for my GF. Done with preparation and ready to head down to Fullerton Bay Hotel.

I reached the hotel at about 10am and the makeup artist was helping GF with the styling of hair. GF has already done with her makeup.

I went around to explore the premier room room and found myself at the balcony. The room was really huge and spacious.

We got the city view which allow us to cwe can catch views of Singapore's bustling cosmopolitan skyline, including iconic landmarks.

The hotel also provide a pair of wedding bears to congratulate the newly weds. The bears were so cute.

Meryl and I went early to offer our help to GF. Meryl will be helping out as the ring bearer while I will be helping GF with supporting her gown while she walked up the stair.
Here's a photo of us before GF changed into her wedding gown.

A glimpse of GF's wedding gown. It was so beautiful and elegant. A gown will make a girl look so feminine in it.

GF has changed into her wedding gown and now doing final touchup for her hairdo. She was also starting to feel nervous and busy rehearsing for her vow later on.

Meryl was done with her makeup preparation and she looked so pretty. Both of us were dressed in pink coincidentally. We forgo the dull colour, pick a bright and light colour to perk up the happy occasion.

The bride has some solo shots herself after she was all done with preparation.

Meryl and I joined GF at the balcony for some shots too.
Shortly after this, Kelvin and Meryl went down to The Floating Pod for the solemnization preparation while GF and I remained in the room waiting for the right time to go down.

Among the blogging clique, GF is one of the oldest in term of the years we known each other, 7 years of friendship. I am really happy for her because my GF found someone whom I know can take good care of her for the rest of her life.

We then went down to greet the guests.

Meet up with Linda, it's been 2 months since we last met.
Everyone looked so pretty that day.

Let's proceed in to The Floating Pod for the ceremony.

Seeing my best friend tie the knot with the man who is by her side for a decade. Despite being together for so good, they manage to keep their sparks all the way. This is something we all should learn from.

Wishing you guys a blissful marriage.
The ladies took a group photo with the newly weds.

After the ceremony ended, we headed down to level 1 for the lunch banquet. Seats were allocated for us, so we just look out for our name.

Bread was served before the appetizer, bread and butter always taste so good when spread together.

With Poppy, my seating partner.

Here comes our appetizer - Poached Chicken, Pickled Mushroom, Arugula Salad and Green Sauce.

Photo time while waiting for the main course.

The bride and groom entered our room to give some speech. On the bride behalf, the groom delivered each of us a personal message on their relationship with us. It was very personalized and touching, I was brimming with tears hearing the message.

For my main course, I opt for Baked Sea Bass Fillet, Basil in Cherry Tomato, Saffron and Fennel Nage.

The fish fillet has a crispy skin and tender fresh, it tasted perfect.

With Tracy, probably the next one in our clique to get married. I know her the same day as I know GF through Givera event.

We all have Bourbon Pannacotta with Passion Fruit for dessert.
The sweet desert has left me feeling satisfied after finishing very bits of it, I love how it just melted in my mouth.

After the lunch, we went up to GF's room for some get together.

A girls shot.
One thing I never expect to gain when I started blogging was a friendship forged. They have become one of my closest friends, someone that I could hang out with even though there is no blogger event for us to meet up.

Girlfriends for life.
I don't really need many friends, just a couple that matters will be enough and this group are one of the important people in my life.

With CK whom I have not interact much during the lunch.
Time for interaction now.

As I rarely dressed up, I took this opportunity to take more photos.
Dress up means photo time. I should dress up more often too.

With Jasmine, I haven't seen her for a really long time. She was the first in our group to get married and is also a mother now.

Since the level that GF is staying is just a level below the rooftop, we decided to head up and check out the rooftop swimming pool and surrounding.

It was a great catch up and meet up session with the girls.
Hanging out with a group of girlfriends can be enjoyable.

No doubt that I looked good in black, but pink has always been my favourite colour. It gives me a vibes of romance and feminine.

It was 4pm and time for us to make a move, allowing the couple to head back for a little rest before their family gathering in the evening.

Linda and I left together, it was so nice to see my old friend again. The last meeting was during our JB's staycation in December. Talking about staycation, I want a staycation soon again.

Hope the next meet up with the girls will not be too far away.
