Otah & Friends: Otter-themed Escapade at Gardens by the Bay

 There are days where we want to run away from the reality and escape into the children fantasy. The first Otter-themed escapade is here in Singapore at Gardens by the Bay, giving me the opportunity to be young at heart again for that evening.

 Otah & Friends is a nostalgic game of playing hide-and-seek with Otah (The name of the otter behind us).

After a little warming up quiz, we were ready to find Otah.

Before we enter Otah's house, we have to ring the bell and count to ten. We were only given 15 minutes to find Otah before the cookies in his oven burn. We have to look around the house for clues to help us locate the hiding place of Otah.

I love the colourful and vibrant backdrop of Otah’s house, it feel like I have stepped into a children's world. I wish we had more time to take photo around but with only 15 minutes slot, we have to look for Otah first.

Hayden was very enthusiastic in looking for clues, he searched high and low, cabinet and every corner of the house.

We discovered a lemon tree in Otah's house, every corner of the house was visually stunning.

Entering the kitchen. The vibrant colour of pink, blue and yellow formed the main colours in Otah's house.

We managed to find Otah in the given time. 

Next was to proceed to his courtyard to claim our rewards, a cookie and lemonade. 

We were impressed by ourselves at how we managed to squeeze into this tent, it was very crammed definitely.

Dinner Gathering at Ding Garden Buffet

Since GF's birthday is approaching, we decided to call for a meet up for a birthday gathering at Ding Garden Buffet. It was all our first time at the restaurant. Ding Garden Buffet is located at New Bridge Road, 2 minutes walk from Chinatown station exit A. 

You will not missed this vibrant and well lit up store with Bumblebee guarding the place when you walk past Chinatown. Ding Garden Buffet is located at level 3, just walk in and take the lift up.

The restaurant gives a relaxing and casual vibe with the comfortable seating and the animated movie theme wallpaper. We reached the restaurant at 7pm and were lucky to have a table, we didn't book a reservation and the restaurant was also full house by 8pm.

We opt for Roasted Fish and BBQ buffet at $25.90++ per pax. We have chosen Roasted Fish with Pickled Vegetables which we enjoyed very much. The roasted fish was fresh and the meat was sweet. With the fish soaked in the pickled vegetables aromatic flavour broth and loaded with red and green chilli, the fish carried a combination of sweet, sour and a little spicy taste that was to our liking.

Help yourself to the self service station of the frozen ingredients. On top of the buffet, drinks, fruits and ice cream are free flow.

Without us knowing, each of us bringing a plate of ingredients, our table was soon filled with lots of food. Do note that the meat is to be ordered with the staff, it is not available at the self service station. 

Meryl and I could already smell the smoky aroma from the BBQ grill. We can't wait to kickstart the dinner, but let's have photo first.

A group photo of the girls. The hotpot and BBQ definitely warm our heart on a Monday night while we enjoyed the piping hot food right in front of us. Food always tasted better when share with friends.

It has been more than 2 months since we last saw each other in full attendance, GF's birthday provided us a perfect reason to gather again. Jasmine took this welfie to capture both us and the food.

I love the grilled food, especially the juicy chicken which was delectable. The chicken wing was tasty with its tender and smooth texture, the meat was easily ripped off from the bone.

We put some of the ingredients into the broth so that they were soaked with the flavour that enhanced the savouriness. It was packed with good depth of taste.

The money we paid is totally worth it because we enjoyed 2 hours non-stop eating and chatting. We paid about $30++ each per person and ate until our stomach was full to the brim. Last but not least, we ended off the meal with a cup of ice cream.

The Bubble Tea Factory at SCAPE

The Bubble Tea Factory is the first of its kind in Singapore waiting to be uncovered. It is an immersive bubble tea-themed exhibition happening at SCAPE from now till 18 Jan 2020.

Bubble tea lovers should take this opportunity and let all your wildest bubble tea dreams come to life.

I was attracted by the bubble tea plushie when I was browsing through the merchandises, I wanna bring it back home. 

The Bubble Tea Factory spans over 6 rooms with 10 visually spectacular installations, bring us through a multi-sensory journey of bubble tea world. We were each given a Boba Booster Pack where we can use it to redeem goodies and interactive challenges with our friends!

The colourful light was dancing around and lighting up the darkness as we entered the first room. Just enter the room and enjoy the countless photo-taking opportunities throughout the journey.

We set our foot into the paddle pop rainbow room with fluffy white clouds floating above us. The pastel colour made the room looked sweeter. This room was decorated with a blend of purple and pink accents, very cheerful colours. 

A dose of Bubble Tea (BBT) with GF. 

Knowing that I have not been to The Bubble Tea Factory yet, GF brought me along for this exhibition when she had a pair of tickets. We had an enjoyable affair at different installations. The vibrant shades of pink has put me in a good mood, a perfect place to go for the weekend. 

We have used our "Power Up" card and complete a challenge to exchange for a cup of delicious BBT flavour snacks. My first time tasting BBT flavour popcorn.

Every corner of the factory is an Instragram worthy spot, it is a piece of artwork. Absolutely incredible.

Coming out from a tunnel.

The whole experience was an amazing and enchanting one for me. The reflection made it as though I have stepped into a room of illusion with many BBT pearls surrounding us.

Our millionaire dream came true when we found money scattered around the bathtub. We are going to use these money to buy more bubble tea.

Don't be surprise, the money can be found in the toilet bowl too.

My favourite room is definitely the Pearl-duction Line room where we soaked myself in the vast Pearl Pit, it brought out my inner child where I found joy in playing with the purple pearl balls and don’t wish to get up. 

Until the end, we just lie down and hide ourselves in the vast pearl pit. We were totally blown away by the pit corner. 

Feeling satisfied, we climbed up from the pearl pit and ready to proceed for our next stop where we used our "Power Up" card to redeemed a cup of bubble tea.

Both of us had Black Pearl Milk Tea from Miss Tea. It has been a few months since I last have bubble tea, now my bubble tea craving was satisfied. The bubble tea came just at the right time for us as we were feeling thirsty after an hour of exploration.

Here at our last stop in the airplane cabin. It really drive my urge to travel again. How nice if we can enjoy a glass of bubble tea while we were on plane?

Meryl's Birthday Celebration at Sentosa Wave House and Hard Rock Hotel

I reserved my entire Sunday for Meryl's birthday celebration at Sentosa.
This year is a significant year for Meryl because she has approached 30 and bid goodbye to the 20s. It is a milestone worth celebrating where the real adulthood begins.

We met up at Beach Station in Sentosa. I was there early to meet up with the girls for chit chat before the group came. When full strength, we then made our way to Wave House @ Siloso Beach for our late lunch. It was about 3.10pm when we reached Wave House.

I had Mango Vanilla Milkshake, at least 5 of us had ordered this milkshake. The mango juice was toppled with vanilla ice cream and sprinkled with M&Ms chocolate. It was a perfect drink for those with a sweet tooth like me, the sweetness we got from the sugar rush was heavenly good with every sip.

Since we weren't very hungry, GF, Kelvin and I decided to order 2 dishes and share among the 3 of us. 

We had Hoisin Roast Duck Pizza which was under chef recommendation in the menu. The thin crust pizza was filled with roast duck, shiitake, hoisin sauce, scallions and toppled with crispy wonton skin. The pizza has won our hearts with its delicious topping and crunchy crust. It was remarkably delicious.

We also had Deep Fried Calamari with lemon and chipotle remoulade. Every bite of the calamari was simply addictive, it made a perfect snack.

Our agenda for coming to Beach Station was to visit Sentosa Sandsation 2019: Star Wars Edition held at Siloso Beach. We took a group photo with the Stormtrooper at the entrance of the exhibition, we were just in time for the exhibition because that day was the last showcase date.

This exhibition showcased 20 massive sculptures of Star Wars characters.

We hitched a buggy ride from Wave House to Beach Station which saved us 20 minutes of walking. The weather was really hot and we can't wait to go to hotel for the aircon.

Here we were at Resorts World Sentosa - Hard Rock Hotel, Meryl has booked a room for her staycation and invited us over for cake cutting celebration. She has earlier checked in the room with her family and decorated the room with balloons and wall decor.

Meryl has gotten us some snacks which we can munch in the room. We were drew by the birthday vibes filled in the room.

The attraction of Hard Rock Hotel is definitely the stunning free-form swimming pool, the outdoor area looked so relaxing. 

I loved that the hotel has this balcony that allowed us to take in the beauty of the surrounding area and this room got the perfect view of the swimming pool. Sentosa is indeed a best place to unwind ourselves with resort vibes.

The rest of them had all headed down to the swimming pool except for us and Kelvin. We just stayed in the room to chill and catch up. Glad that I wore something carefree and comfortable to move around.

Playing with the balloon, I liked that it was filled with lots of heart in the balloon.

While chilling at the balcony, we spotted Jasmine and Rena playing at the pool.

The three of us knew each other 8 years ago, I so glad that they have been by my side all these years.

Just 10 minutes before 7pm, everybody had came back from their swim and we started preparing for the cake cutting ceremony.

Since there were 18 of us, Meryl had prepare 2 cakes to be shared among us.

Happy belated birthday, Meryl. May you stay pretty always.

Meryl has also changed into her evening dress after the swim.

I am so lucky to know these brunch of friends, life has been so fun and unforgettable with them around. Being with them always make me forget about my troubles and worries.

Time to make a wish. May your wish comes true.

A photo with the birthday girl. I have known Meryl for 5 years already and we were once classmates for one semester in UniSim for Managerial Accounting module. Time definitely flies. 

Rena was playing happily with all the balloons until she doesn't want to go back home. 

Today has been a fun day out, thanks Meryl for inviting us over for the gathering and Jasmine & Ryden for sending me home safety.
