I had Carbonara with bacon, cream, and egg yolk, every strand of pasta was soaked with the cream. Halfway through eating, the creamy taste become too overwhelming that made me stopped eating.

I had Pan Seared Golden Promfret with Ratta Potato which was tender, moist and retained the freshness.

8 Course Set Meal At Elemen Millenia Walk

Elemen is a restaurant that offers a modern interpretation of natural and meatless cuisine, serving healthy and natural food, without compromising the sustainability of the environment. 

It was my second time to Elemen at Millenia Walk. I have tried their 5 course set meal during my first visit (few years back) and decided to try their 8 course set meal ($33.80++) this time round. I love dining out on weekday, other than a break from work, we get to enjoy value for money weekday lunch promotion.

The first dish was The elemen Appetiser, the sequence of eating was from right to left, from sour to sweet. It was a refreshing starter.

For salad selection, I chose Japanese Tofu with Century Egg where the soft tofu came in a huge chunk and drizzled with Japanese sauce and topped with mini fish roe that popped in the mouth.

Next was Breadsticks with Raspberry with Raspberry Yogurt Sauce and a small cup of Apple Cider. The difference between 5 and 8 course set meal was the additional of salad, breadsticks and apple cider.

For choice of soup, I opt for Freshly Roasted Tomato Basil Soup. The portion served was quite a generous one. By the 5th course, I was starting to feel full.

Thankfully the main course came 20 minutes after the soup was served so I had some time to digest the food. I had Black Truffle Porcini Pasta where the pasta was cooked al dente with the taste of truffle coated onto every strand. The mushroom also added the taste of earthiness.

I had Pumping Pomegranate for my choice of beverage. The tea was very refreshing with strong note of pomegranate and leave a sweet aftertaste.

Ended off the meal with Brownie with Vanilla Gelato, bringing a sweet finish to the lunch. I was surprised that the portion was big because set meal dessert was typically small in size. I really enjoyed set meal because I love trying different variety of dishes. Having able to try 8 course, this restaurant has leave an impression for me.

I will be back again.

Orchard

 In search of a new place that brings relaxation with a view, casual atmosphere and close to the city. 

I had Black Truffle Burger, a vegan choice with truffle scrambled egg, sauteed mushroom, onion and melting cheese being sandwiched in between the brioche bun. The burger had a creamy texture with the melting cheese, buttery texture from the scrambled egg and the sauteed mushroom added juiciness. Complimentary bread was served too.

Places to Dine near Robertson Quay (2022 Edition)

 Robertson Quay is an area that I have not fully explored in the past, it is a place with many restaurants and cafes located within walking distance. I have came up with second compilation to share on new places to dine near Robertson Quay (2022 edition).

1. District 10 Bar & Restaurant

A quick lunch at District 10 Bar & Restaurant located at UE Square. The bar restaurant has a rustic yet chic ambiance. I was attracted to their restaurant because they have a extensive list of brunch menu. It has been awhile since I last had brunch.

I had Egg Benny with Smoked Salmon ($22++) where the poached eggs sat on top of smoked salmon and toasted brioche bread with hollandaise sauce. 

The first thing I did was to cut open the poached eggs, allowing the running egg yolk to seeped into the smoked salmon and bread, enhancing the taste.

Apart from the food, I also ordered Antioxidant, a health boosters drink with the blends of peach, green apple, mango and strawberry. Decided to go for a healthier option drink as it was something I was in need of for recovery. (Though not fully recovered, but definitely getting better) The drink was nice with slightly sour notes.

2. Wine Connection Tapas Bar & Bistro

Wine Connection Tapas Bar & Bistro is a nice places for lunch break with colleagues, gathering after work or a casual meal with friends. 

I ordered Baked Seabass from the seasonal spring menu. The seabass was wrapped in the parchment paper to keep the fish moist while the Japanese rice underneath absorbed the sweetness of the fish that made it even more tasty.

A Day At

 

I had Black Truffle Eggs ($22++) where the scrambled eggs with freshly grated black truffle sat on the sourdough bread. At the first bite, the scrambled eggs might taste weird. By the third or fourth bites, I started to get use to the black truffle fragrance and enjoy the dish.
