Rise and shine early for Sentosa Spooktacular 2013 Press Conference.

I know what you guys are thinking right now.
"Huh? Spooktacular? Halloween? Press Conference so early in June???

Well, that is because Sentosa Spooktacular will be doing something big this year. Continued reading to find out the mystery unveiled as well as the theme for 2013.

Arriving at Sentosa for the Press Conference.

I was here at Sentosa Spooktacular last year too. Though it was scary, but I was having fun too. I actually left Spooktacular with a smile because I completed all the 5 trails and it was a memorable Halloween experience.

Want to find out what are you expecting at Spooktacular?

The Press Conference was held at Fort Siloso.

Actually before we arrived at the conference room, we had to walk through a mini haunted trail that the spook staffs had prepared for us. We were to enter the trail in groups of three, I'm glad that I was together with 2 brave souls and we made it through all the obstacles.

Now it's time to unveil Sentosa Spooktacular 2013's theme:
Thai Horror Movie

For the first time ever, Sentosa will be teaming up with renowned Thai movie production studios, GMM Tai Hub Co. Ltd. (GTH), in a joint production of its annual signature Halloween event – Sentosa Spooktacular 2013 to deliver Asia’s “Scariest Fun”.

Sentosa Spooktacular is set to take place for six nights in October and November.
Fans of classic Thai horror films can expect to have their nerves tested in up to five elaborately themed, haunted trails inspired by GTH’s international horror hits Coming Soon, Shutter, Body, Dorm and Pee Mak which will transform Fort Siloso into blood-curdling screams and side-splitting laughter. GTH will bring their unique brand of storytelling, deeply-rooted in Asian horror folklore, to redefine this year’s edition of Sentosa Spooktacular. These trails will be held once again at Fort Siloso.

It is going to double the thrill and fun factor.

Mr. David Goh, Senior Divisional Director from Sentosa Leisure Management, had explained to us the reason for the collaboration. Mr Goh explained that the team wish to break through the usual folklore like Chinese zombie, pontianak, Chinese ghost bride and on the other hand, they wish to stick to the Asian horror theme. The answer has been very clear then, it gonna be Thai Horror.

Quoted by Mr. David Goh: "The collaboration with GTH and their creative teams is a fantastic cross-promotional opportunity and a great way to take the Sentosa Spooktacular up a notch. With GTH’s cinematic and production expertise, together with Fort Siloso’s unique backdrop and history, we believe that this year’s Spooktacular will present fans with not just a scarier Asian experience. Visitors will also feel as though they are living out a scene of a Thai horror film. With Sentosa’s tourism and leisure management expertise and GTH’s movie-production quality, thrill-seekers are assured of an experience filled with fear, fun and authenticity like nothing they’ve ever experienced before!”

Mr. Yongyoot Thongkongtoon, Senior Director of International Business for GTH was here at the Press Conference. So glad I had the opportunity to see him in person.

Being the Asia’s scariest fun and is one of the biggest Halloween events in Singapore, GTH wants people to experience the same terror, scares and a whole host of other emotions that are akin to watching a Thai horror movie. The experienced team of directors, producers and set builders will use various storytelling techniques to capture the essence of Asian and Thai horror in these five trails.

Together with the Sentosa team, GTH will ensure that this year’s Spooktacular will be one that visitors will never forget.

A signing ceremony was held for the joint collaboration of Sentosa and GTH for Asia's Scariest Fun.

What can you expect at Spooktacular?

Spooktacular’s famed resident ghoul ambassadors such as the Pontianak, the Chinese Ghost Bride, the Dead Soldier and the Chinese Vampire (who had been here since last year), will come to populate Fort Siloso together with Beautiful Ghost wife ‘Nak’ from Pee Mak, vengeful sprits ‘Dararai’ from Body and ‘Netre’ from Shutter, will join arms with ‘Wichien’, the angry child spirit from Dorm, as well as the gruesome and iconic ‘Chaba’, who cursed and took the lives of movie goers in Coming Soon. They will be making their nether world crossover to Fort Siloso this October.

Are you ready for two groups of distinctively Asian supernaturals and a fright fest filled with spine-chilling encounters of ‘spooktacular’ proportions?

As soon as Jiangshi and Chaba entered the room, they got one of us. "Help! Saved me!!!!!!!!"

Chinese Vampire aka Jiang Shi was staring at me, am I the next victim???

Jiang Shi was so hungry that he had to feed on Chaba.
