Happenings in March - Food Galore + Antoinette + i Light Marina Bay 2017

Friday 17/3/17

It's Friday, we always treat ourselves to a lavish meal and took a cab out to explore more areas. So this week, we went to Kith Cafe at Millenia Walk. Kith Cafe is a place we visited regularly too. My lunch kakis love their breakfast set, everytime we thought of having breakfast set, Kith Cafe will be the place we will go.

I have scrambled eggs with sourdough.
I always love eating scrambled eggs, taste good after adding pepper on top of the eggs.

Night class for Friday night has ended last week. So this week onwards, my Friday night is free. Met up with bf to have dinner together.

We have our dinner at Fish & Co @ Bugis plus.
I tried their Danish Fish & Chips that comes with oozing mozzarella cheese with a hint of chilli. The fish was topped with lemon butter sauce. The Fish & Chips really makes one feel full, I have difficulty clearing it all by myself.

Friday 24/3/17

I made my first visit to Antoinette for dining.
Antoinette is a Parisian pâtisserie cafe located at Penhas Road, nearest MRT station at Lavender. Antoinette is a cafe known for its French classic desserts and savouries.

Antoinette has a nice and quiet ambience that is suitable for a romantic dinner. I love the interior design of the cafe, it looked classy.

Not feeling very hungry, I decided to go for their savoury crepe. It comes with a fluffy crust toppled with ham, egg, cheese and lots of veggie. I finished everything except the veggie, too much uncooked veggie.

Antoinette is a place you can consider coming for celebrating occasions. The cafe has great ambience and the food are not bad too. But be prepared to pay a bit higher than normal cafe price.

Thanks for bring me here to celebrate our advance monthiversary. Look forward to more celebration together.

Saturday 25/3/17

The month long light art festival is coming to an end. We visited i Light Marina Bay on the last weekend of the festival. This is the fifth edition of the light art festival and also my first time visiting.

i Light Marina Bay showcased the light art created by artists from Singapore and around the world. The designs used energy-saving lighting or environmentally-friendly materials, it brings a message to encourage the public to adopt sustainable habits in our daily lives.

Getting ready to head out of house in the evening after the heavy rain.

The light installations were located around the Marina Bay waterfront that stretch from he Promontory @ Marina Bay, The Float @ Marina Bay and the Bayfront Event Space.

The sea urchin inspired design.
This is one of the installations that you cannot missed.

The light arts looked so beautiful and illuminated the whole Marina Bay.
We have a good and long walk, helping us to burn down the calories. That's why I always love walking.

Horizontal interference.
Saw lots of this installations shared on facebook and instagram.
This was made using colourful cord construction, so simple yet spectacular.

Feeling slightly hungry, we headed over to GastroBeats to have some light bites. We decided to try the traditional Hungarian pastry served at Chimney.

Chimney cone with soft serve selling at $7.90.
The cinnamon cone was toppled with vanilla soft serve and chocolate syrup.

Ice cream is my soft spot, can't wait to sink my teeth into it.
The sweetness of the vanilla soft serve goes well with the cinnamon cone.

Super thirsty and our feet are tiring, we went for a chillout session at Orgo Bar & Restaurant. We ordered mojitos.

Orgo is located at the rooftop of Esplanade. We spent our night away at the rooftop bar, chilling with our drinks and admiring the city view.

Sunday 26/3/17

Headed out to my favourite hangout place, VivoCity to spend my late afternoon there. We always love to go VivoCity for food followed by a stroll outside. This is usually how I spend my weekend.

We went Honeymoon Dessert for cold treat. I love having ice-cream for dessert.
We cherished every moment spent together.

Monday 27/3/17

Venturing into hawker centre for dinner after work.

After the dinner, we took a stroll along Sentosa Broadwalk before heading home. It's good to have a walk after dinner to digest the food.

Tuesday 28/3/17

March is a busy month for me at work. Just a few more days before coming to the end of March. Hang on there. To keep ourselves motivated, we went to Wong Kok Char Chan Teng (旺角茶餐厅) for our lunch to replenish our energy.

I have the fried nissin noodle with pork and egg.
Everything is good except that the pork tasted a little salty.

We had dinner at Lau Pa Sat where I had Katsu Don.
We are planning for a short trip to Bangkok in 2 weeks time, so the meet up today was to settle our booking of air tickets and hotel. A very impromptu decision to have a getaway trip and we got our air tickets at a very steep price due to last minute booking.

Can't wait for the Bangkok trip, 2 more weeks to go.
Stay tuned for more sharing.

Singapore Philatelic Museum: Harry Potter Exhibition

I made my first visit down to Singapore Philatelic Museum on a Sunday late afternoon after knowing that there is a Harry Potter exhibition going on.

Not sure if you are aware, I am a huge fan of Harry Potter. I have read all the book series and watched all the movies. I read at least 3 times because the storyline is really fascinating and I wouldn't get bored reading and reading over again. I even purchase some of the books and DVD.

Therefore, knowing about this Harry Potter exhibition, I wouldn't want to give this a miss.

Here I was at Singapore Philatelic Museum.

Spotted this red old postbox in the museum.

Singapore Philatelic Museum displays Singapore's treasure of philatelic materials that range from stamps and archival philatelic material of Singapore from the 1830s to present day, and stamps from member countries of the Universal Postal Union.

Shakespeare's collection.
The English poet, playwright, and actor.

Childhood game: Hopscotch.
I used to play that during my primary school recess time, it really brought back lots of memories.

Travel back to 1960s of Singapore to witness the 50 years of our nation's progress with specially selected stamps, philatelic materials and rarely seen original stamp artworks.

The older days coffeeshop setting.

Marketplace.

Take a look at the 1960s kitchen.

Next, entering the room of.............

Harry Potter Exhibition

Collecting Magic: From Stamps To Wands
Be spellbound by beautiful Harry Potter stamps from all over the world as well as movie memorabilia and collectibles from private collectors.

I first entered the room with the letters filling the door hole.

The letter turned out to be from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry to Harry Potter. He has been accepted into the Hogwarts and his magical journey began.

Reached Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross station.
The secret entrance to the train that departs for Hogwarts via the Hogwarts Express. Just run through this secret tunnel and you will reach Platform 9 3/4.

Hogwarts Express, wait for me. I'm coming.

Meet Hedwig, Harry Potter's pet Snowy Owl.

On board Hogwarts Express, I found an empty compartment.

So comfortable, I don't feel like getting up.
I hope this train can take me away from this place.

The candies and sweet treats that is available at Honeydukes Express Cart. Some of the sweet treats are Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, Cauldron Cakes, Pumpkin Pasties and etc.

Dobby, the house elf.
The former house elf of the Malfoy family. He made his appearance in Chamber of Secrets.

My OOTD on the Mirror of Erised.
Lazy Sunday outfit.

The wand collection.

You aren't going to pass through the door to the Gryffindor common room without giving The Fat Lady the password.

The school uniform for Gryffindor.
That marked the end of my magical journey with Harry Potter.

If you are interested in going for this exhibition, the Harry Potter Exhibition will run until 18 June 2017. It's free admission for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Foreign visitor will need to pay a fee of $8 for adult and $6 for child.

Happenings in March - Weekend Outing + Beauty and the Beast Movie + Bedok 85 Food Hunt

Saturday 11/3/17

Oh yes, weekend is here again.
I cherished my time especially my weekend because weekend is outing day.

Getting dressed up and ready to begin my day.
Cater all my weekend to bf because weeekend is the only days we meet up, we rarely meet up during weekdays due to work commitment. Weekend is very precious to me now.

Bf got me Harry Potter time turner necklace which was featured in the movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of AZKABAN, wearing it out for the first time. Thanks for the surprise gift.

We made our way to Marina Square for a walk. There was a Balloon Exhibition going on at the atrium. Dive into an underwater world created using balloon sculptures.

Like little children, we joined the crowds to view some of these master pieces of the balloon artworks.

We decided to find somewhere to sit down and chill down, the thing that came to our mind was to go for dessert.

We went to O'ma spoon Korean Dessert Cafe, a place we always wanted to try but too full to go for it after dinner.

We had Oreo Bingsu served with banana, oreo cookies, ice cream, shaved milk and assorted toppings is perfect way to cool off during the hot weather. The bingsu were drizzled with the chocolate sauce and fresh milk that enhanced the sweetness of the dessert.

I felt full after having this, I need a walk to digest the food so that there will be room for dinner later on. We took a stroll to National Gallery Singapore to admire the beautiful architecture.

Dinner was at Hifumi Japanese Restaurant, I have tonkatsu set that that comes with pork cutlet, onion egg, miso soup and rice.

What I love about Hifumi is they serve its signature all-you-can-eat appetizer bar with the purchase of a main course. Food was good and the price was affordable given the amount of food we ate. I see myself coming back again when we feel like having Japanese food.

Vanilla soft serve to end off the dinner. We were so full by then, so the 2 of us shared this soft serve.

We bumped into quite a few people at Marina Square. I bumped into KP and her bf while bf bumped into his female friend earlier.

Sunday 12/3/17

Our Sunday dating brought us to Plaza Singapura for a walk.

Spotted our first Disney Tsum Tsum display at the atrium of Plaza Singapura. Though I have never play the mobile game before, I find the character all look so cute and I love them.

Plaza Singapura has one of the largest Tsum Tsum displays with many different decorations. It lifted up our moods with the cute displays.

Took a stroll at the outdoor. We have quality time spent together.

Dinner was at The Manhattan FISH MARKET, one of the restaurant that we regularly visit. We have tomato soup while waiting for our fish & chips.

My all time favourite Fish & Chips. A nice outing to end off the weekend. We enjoyed the time spent together

Saturday 18/3/17

Journey to the east.
Made our journey to Golden Village @ Tampines Mall for movie. My first time there for movie, I don't really like their cinema theatre because it has limited space for leg room. It was quite unbearable for me especially when my movie duration was over 2 hours.

Beauty and the Beast

The Disney movie is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time.

I grew up reading fairytale story books. Beauty and the Beast is therefore not something unfamiliar for me. The movie has not much difference from the original story and it got us connected even though we know what will happen next. I like how Belle fall in love with the Beast, not based on his looks but truly in love with who the Beast is. He treats her with care and love, letting her do her favourite things, save her from danger and truly want her to be happy.

After the movie, we headed down to Bedok 85 @ Fengshan Centre for dinner. Bedok 85 food centre is one best hawker centre located in the east. This was my first time here, I rarely travel over to the east.

I tried the Hokkien Mee, one of the famous dishes over at  Bedok 85. It was nice and juicy with the gravy being absorbed into the noodles.

We have sambal stingray from the zi char stall that is just located besides Hokkien Mee stall.
The stingray was soft and the sambal has enhanced the flavour of the stingray, giving it an extra kick of spiciness.

Here's how I spend my weekend, hope you guys have a great weekend too.
