Friday 4/1/19
First TGIF of the 2019, I welcome my weekend with a girls gathering with 四面夏娃. It has been 3 months since our last gathering.
After our work, all of us traveled up to Bishan for our meet up. It was really a long journey for us as none of us work or stay at the north. Christmas is still fresh in the air judging from the decorations at Bishan, I took this meetup opportunity to prepare Christmas gift for Jas and Meryl.
We have our dinner at Yoshinoya and I ordered Ocean Don ($9.50).
Ocean Don consists of breaded pink Salmon, 4 fried juicy prawns coated with flavourful bread crumbs, served with a assorted vegetables and corn on a bowl of Japanese rice. The serving was generous, I especially love the salmon and prawns that were fried to perfection.
After the dinner, we proceeded to the main agenda why we were at Bishan today which was to try out the latest bubble tea in town located at Bishan Station, Bober Tea.
Bober Tea offers many different variety of drinks that bound to have one that will capture your taste.
Bober Tea is artisan tea focused on providing valuable, high-quality and tasty blends of Tea with a gist of local flavour in it. Their bobas are homemade which is a healthier choice unlike the artificial types from processed factories.
Nothing beats a Friday night out with a group of close friends where we can enjoy a hearty meal and drink over my chat.
With courtesy from Bober Tea, we received complimentary drinks. Thanks GF for sharing her redeem with us. It satisfied our cravings for bubble tea.
Here is my selection: Grass Jelly Brown Sugar Fresh Milk with Strawberry Boba ($5.60).
Although I don't drink bubble tea often but I am actually a bubble tea lover, it is the combination of the drinks and the chewy boba make me love the drinks so much. It is very addictive too. The strawberry boba gave a sweet explosion when chew in the mouth.
Sunday 6/1/19
Headed out in the afternoon to meet up with JY for a drink at Swissbake @ The Central.
I have Ice Lemon Tea, one of my all-time favourite drinks to order.
It was nice to meet up with friend over a chat.
Since mummy was not cooking today, we headed out for dinner to the usual eating place for Bak Ku Teh. We asked 10th floor aunt to join us too as she came over to our house in the afternoon. This was already my third visit.
Mummy ordered back the usual dishes that we ordered which includes Spare Ribs Soup, Braised Pork Knuckle, Chye Sim in Oyster Sauce, Fried Dough Stick, Fried Beancurd Skin with Fish. The total bill for 5 pax came up to $70.60.
Tuesday 8/1/19
I met up with Linda at VivoCity at 7.20pm after our work to catch a movie she wanted to watch, I have not meet up with her since our overseas trip. Movie on Tuesday is only $6.50, I didn't know that watching a movie on Tuesday is cheaper than other days. Before heading in to the theatre, we bought a packet of potato chips from 7 Eleven.
The story takes place in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) discovers Bumblebee during her 18th birthday, battle-scarred and broken. While Charlie attempts to fix the Beetle, it transforms into B-127, whom she befriends and nicknames "Bumblebee". Charlie revives Bumblebee and restores his memories.
So happy to meet again and we managed to catch up a bit after the movie. The agenda of today's meet up was actually to pass Linda her belated birthday and Christmas gift. I gotten a Christmas gift from her too. Thanks Linda for the sweet thought.
I have snacks to munch on over the weekend, thanks Linda.
Wednesday 8/1/19
I have a meaningful Wednesday where we brought a group of elderly from Senior Activity Centre out for an excursion.
We brought the elderly to Malay Heritage Centre (MHC) which provides a cultural exposure and learning opportunities for visitors of all ages. Entry to MHC is free for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents.
It is nice to organize activities and bring the elderly out, this helps to keep them active and continue to keep them plugged into a social network.
Seeing the happy smile on their face makes everything worthwhile. All of them showed us the warm smile at the end of the day, I'm glad that they enjoyed the excursion. The elderly actually don't require much, a outing combined with some light refreshment will make their day. It was also a happy day for me too.
Wednesday 16/1/19
Today marked the launch of HŌRA x ActivLayr which was held at Patties & Wiches Café @ Ngee Ann City.
HŌRA is a Singaporean online beauty curator and retailer, they have brought in ActivLayr, a fern-marked, made and designed in New Zealand using 100% sustainably-sourced ingredients.
We were treated to light refreshment which includes the delicious chicken sandwich, it was one of the nicest sandwich I ate before. The chicken sandwich was flavoursome, I wish I have more.
We need the water to quench our thirst.
I have a lovely Wednesday night spent with the girls, an event turned out to be a gathering for us. After the event ended, we went to KFC to have popcorn snacker meal and continue our girls talk.
Now that I don't need to attend school, my time in the night and weekend is free up. I can meet up with my friends freely. Love it.
Saturday 19/1/19
Our family found a new dining place for zichar which is near our neighbourhood, 6 of us went to check out the place for our dinner.
Here's what we ordered: Seafood Fried Beancurd, Salted Egg Pork Rib, Sambal Kang Kong, Cereal Chicken and Lime Juice.
The highlight of our dinner was definitely Curry Fish Head. I love the curry because it was great to go with our plain rice. The curry was not too spicy and suitable for people with average spice threshold.
We also ordered Satay from another stall to add on to our meal. The satay was flavourful and I like the charred outer skin. A hearty meal is which I look forward to on a weekend to compensate the hard work put in on weekdays.
Sunday 20/1/19
Though I just saw KP 3 weeks ago, it's been a long time when we last went out together. It is our yearly affair to meet up together before Chinese New Year (CNY) to shop for new clothes.
We have our lunch at Long John Silver @ Bugis Village because I have cravings for their fries. I got myself a new dress while KP got 2 tops.
We also went to try McDonald's latest Pandan Ice Cream at $1. We enjoyed the ice cream, it tasted like vanilla ice cream but with pandan essence in it.
Monday 21/1/19
Met up with JY for dinner at Tonkotsu King Four Seasons @ Bugis Village because he has cravings for ramen. This was my first time coming this outlet.
I have Tonkotsu Ramen with add on of seaweed ($12++).
The ramen was soaked in the rich tonkotsu broth and served with 2 large char siew. Once in awhile, I like to splurge a bit on dinner.
Since the time was still early, we went Honeymoon Dessert and ordered a bowl of Coconut Sago for sharing. A sweet ending to our savoury meal. Thanks for the dessert treat.
Friday 25/1/19
Acne and scar marks are one of the concerns my skin faced due to the internal and external factors that my skin is exposed to.
I was given the opportunity to test out La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo which is the highly recommended acne treatment product by dermatologist. La Roche Posay is back with new improved formula to tackle on acne, pimples and zits in just 4 weeks’ time.
I used Effaclar Duo to treat the skin after cleansing and toning. After using the product for a week, I noticed an improvement to my skin, the acne size has reduced and the scar marks have lightened by a little. I’m glad to have Effaclar Duo added to my current skincare regime. Thanks Home Tester Club for sending me Effaclar Duo for review.
Saturday 26/1/19
Chinese New Year (CNY) is coming in another 10 days time. Are you guys starting to get busy with the preparation?
A sweet surprise knocked on my door.
Parallels has sent over a CNY hamper consisting of mandarin oranges and red packets to my doorstep, thanks Parallels for the lovely gesture.
It was really beautiful and immediately steal the limelight at my round table.
I can't wait for CNY because I am looking forward to the short work week.
That's all for January sharing, stay tuned for February.
