Malacca Day 1 Part 2: Taming Sari Tower + Jonker Street

Right after the durian makan session, it's time to proceed for another sightseeing attraction.
We were going for a tower tour where we got to overlook the view of Malacca.

Wow, I was awed by the tall tower standing in front of me: Menara Taming Sari (Taming Sari Tower). Taming Sari Tower is located at Jalan Merdeka, within 5 minutes walk away from Dataran Pahlawan Megamall.

Standing at 110 metres tall, the revolving cabin offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Malacca city.

Went to collect our tickets.
Ticket price for the ride RM20.

We were inside the cabin.
The cabin can take up to 66 people per ride and ride duration is 7 minutes.

Rising up the tower.
The 360 degree viewing tower allows us to get a bird's-eye view of Malacca city and spotted some interesting tourist sights.

The tall building is Holiday Inn Hotel, the top 3 most booked hotels in Malacca.
Being near the coastline, I'm sure the hotel offers a spectacular sea view from the hotel room.

Enjoying the peaceful 7 minutes while admiring the beauty of Malacca.
Laid-back mode turned on.

Experiencing the state of serene.

I like how we were away from internet so that we don't get interrupted and glued our eyes in front of our phone the entire time.We get to interact more and enjoy ourselves.

Busy snapping photos away while landing down.
Can't get enough of the view.

We all have a joyous and memorable ride at Taming Sari Tower.
The experience resembled taking the Singapore Flyer ride, except that the pace is a little faster than Singapore Flyer.

Off we go for our last activity of the day.

The most famous street in Malacca - Jonker Street. Our trip to Malacca will not be complete without coming to Jonker Street, a must visit place for tourists.

Jonker Street turned into a night market on weekend where you can find cheap souvenir and tasty treats.

My first stop in Jonker Street - San Shu Gong.
The elders simply loved hunting for authentic local delicacies.

Initially when the elder said going to San Shu Gong, I thought we were going to a temple but it turned out to be a shop. Lol.

It was nearly 7pm, time for dinner. We settled ourselves down inside this eatery of Jonker Street where we have char kway teow, carrot cake, fried oyster, rojak and cendol.

Passing by the stalls of street food made us want to try everything. After the dinner, we went on to try the quail egg and tako balls. Too bad I'm already being full, if not I really wanted to eat the twister potato and coconut ice-cream.

The decorated trishaws were found along the street of Malacca, it has already become one of the icons of Melaka. The trishaw was decorated with fake flowers and different theme of soft toys. Aunt and Grandma took the Hello Kitty's theme.

Uncle and big bro got the Frozen's theme.

My first time taking a trishaw ride. The feeling was great, the driver was riding at an accelerating speed and I love it, especially when the gentle breeze was blowing at us. So rejuvenating.

The trishaw put us at the stop of Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall. We shopped around for about 30 minutes before walking back to hotel. I got a t-shirt from Padini.

We were back in hotel. I like that the hotel is located centrally where shopping malls were just few minutes walk away.

With my roommate - KP.
The first thing we did in our room were settled down at the sofa and connecting our phone to wifi.
Time to check on the whatapps and social media updates that we had missed.

Soak myself in the bathtub after a long day out.

Toiletries provided by the hotel.

Out from shower, feeling cleaned and refreshed.
Hey, don't be mistaken. I did wear a short inside, but just that my oversize t-shirt was long enough to cover my short.

My favourite spot in the hotel room.
I loved lying on the sofa and hugging the pillow while using my phone, and occasionally admiring the beautiful scenery out there. It brought comfort, just like how I'm feeling at home. I loved the indulgence.

Jumped onto the bed.
The bed was so comfortable and I'm sure we have a good sleep that night.

It was 11pm and we were lying on bed while watching movie. Our TV has access to different genres of movie - action, horror, comedy and etc.

We watched Pixels before we slept.

I must say I have a great stay at Hotel Equatorial.
Not only does the hotel has a strategic location, the room is really cosy and I have a comfortable stay. If you have higher budget, you can opt to stay in Hotel Equatorial. It's over $100++ per night.

Off to sleep now, good night.
