Friday 3/6/16
5 years have passed since iFly Singapore first opened its doors in May 2011 to help the public and local skydiving enthusiasts realise their dreams of flight.
Within this 5 years, iFly Singapore has flew over 200,000 flyers and a landmark for Singapore. I have my first flying experience with iFly Singapore in 2012 and it was really a cool experience, I would love to try it again.
Here at iFly Singapore for the Night of Sports event, a charity fundraiser for the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) on the back of its 5th Anniversary celebration.
Guest of Honour, Mr George Yeo, was here at the event with us. He was there to officiate iFly Singapore’s opening five years ago too.
The Night of Sports saw sports personalities and enthusiasts coming together to raise funds and increase awareness about the organisation, making it possible for disabled athletes to achieve their goals in a wide range of sports at both elite and non-elite levels.
iFly Singapore presented a cheque of SGD$38,870 to SDSC.
The funds raised will go towards providing disabled athletes with the necessary transportation, sports equipment, training, nutrition, preparation and participation in local and overseas competitions.
Night of Sports is iFly Singapore’s first charity initiative for SDSC.
Singaporean Paralympic gold medalists’swimmers Yip Pin Xiu and Theresa Goh tried out the indoor skydiving and they enjoyed it.
iFly Singapore supports the dreams of those who wish to fly.
iFly Singapore has successfully proven that regardless of age, disability and gender, everyone truly can fly.
A small celebratory session for iFly Singapore's 5th Anniversary.
Happy 5th birthday, iFly Singapore.
Wednesday 8/6/16
Right after our event ended, a group of us decided to look for a decent place to settle down for dinner. We decided to try out the Korean stews at Masizzim located at 313 Somerset.
We were there at about 7.30pm and there was still queues forming. We waited for 20-25 minutes before we got our table. Here were the food we ordered for sharing among 6 of us:
Anchovy Rice Balls.
There are 2 choices of rice balls available - Anchovy or Tuna, with Korean white rice, seaweeds crumbs and crushed chili padi. We have to make the rice balls ourselves.
GF helped us to make the rice balls.
A pair of glove was given to us. After wearing the glove, mix the ingredients well and start to mould it into the rice balls. The rice balls may not looked good, but it tasted delicious.
There are a total of 3 stews: Beef Rib Stew, Pork Rib Stew and Spicy Chicken Stew. We ordered all 3 to try out. You can choose your flavour for the stew whether you like soy or spicy. For spicy, you can choose the level of spiciness from level 1 to 4.
I love the broth for pork rib stew the best. The broth was flavourful with the fragrant of pork rib.
Though we only chose level 1 spiciness for our spicy chicken stew, it was still too spicy to my liking. The chicken was very tender.
Tomato Cheese Kimchi Pancake. Like a pizza with mozzarella cheese.
This dinner was also a mini celebration for Caren's birthday. Happy belated birthday.
Sunday 12/6/16
Asked KP out for lunch, haven't hang out with her for a long time. Initially I wanted to bring her to Cozy Corner Coffee at Everton Park for lunch, but the shop was closed when we were there. We then head to Hooters at Clarke Quay, but the shop was under renovation. Waa, it was seriously not our day man.
Feeling super hungry and tired, we decided to just have our lunch at nomVnom @ Central Clarke Quay.
I ordered nom nom burger, french fries and soya milk.
I was feeling super full eating the meal, I could finish my burger.
The fries was nice though.
Treated KP for the lunch to celebrate her belated birthday. Hope you enjoy the lunch.
After which, we went to Yong's house for his daughter, Krislyn, baby shower.
Little princess is so cute. Congrats to Yong and Hwee Peng.
Thursday 16/6/16
Finally met up with my poly peers again.
Now that our exam period was over, we found time for meet up. Out of the 5 of us, 4 of us are currently taking part-time studies. I still have 2.5 more years to go. Jiayou.
We broke our usual tradition on our venue of meetup. For our past meetup, we always fixed the venue at VivoCity or HarbourFront, a convenient place for Grace, our OT queen. This time round, we decided to have a change of venue. We decided to go for dinner at Chilis @ Clarke Quay. Here were the food we ordered for sharing:€
Bottomless Tostada Chips
This was super addictive, we couldn't stop eating while waiting for the other dishes.
Triple Dipper
A combo of our 3 favourite starters out of the 6 choices available. We chose Crispy Chicken Crispers, Boneless Buffalo Wings and Southwestern Eggrolls.
Margherita Flatbread
Topped with Monterey Jack, mozzarella, roasted garlic aioli and fresh tomatoes with a drizzle of cilantro-ranch pesto. This was like a skinny pizza. The crust was super crunchy.
Bacon Ranch Quesadillas
Flour tortillas with grilled chicken breast, smoked bacon, mixed cheese, and house-made ranch dressing.
Steffi wanted to order this badly. I was telling her that the Quesadillas is something that KFC melt, she can go KFC and eat. Lol.
Smoked Chicken Jalapeno Pasta.
This is one of the dishes that we all agreed is good. We love the cheddar cheese mix with pasta and the tender meat.
Grace, Steffi and Chan Lin.
Christine and I.
Half a year has passed since our last meetup in full strength. It was a great catching up, knowing what we are busy with lately. Hope our next meetup will be soon (:
