Saturday 5/10/13
I made my first visit down to Monster Curry located at Ion Orchard for dinner that Saturday.
What do you think of when you hear Monster Curry?
Huge portion?
Expensive price?
Super spicy curry?
Well, let me reveal the answer in a short moment.
Monster Curry is actually the biggest and heaviest Japanese Curry Rice in Singapore.
Monster Curry offers a variety of the difference choice of curry and they are selling at an affordable price. Over at the right of the menu, you can see the spicy choice. There are a total of 5 levels of spiciness that you can choose from. For spice lovers, this is something that you should not miss out.
I had Cheese Chicken Katsu Curry with 1 level of flame.
One thing that is unique about their curry is that it is made from fresh fruits, a healthier choice.
You may think that the portion actually look normal in the picture. Don't be shock, the portion is really huge in fact. I must say the serving is generous. If you are not a big eater, I would recommend to have it share between 2 person.
When it comes to Japanese food, chicken curry rice is always one of my favourite.
Cheese Chicken Katsu Curry at Monster Curry simply taste delicious. Unlike the usual curry rice where the curry sauce is poured all over the bowl, covering the chicken and rice, the curry at Monster Curry is poured at the side for dip and mix.
The chicken katsu is crispy good on the outer with the meat being tender in the inner, it is fried to perfection. With the thick curry sauce, it spiced up my appetite and I finished almost the whole bowl except with some rice leftover. $14 for a such a big bowl is really worth the price.
Monster Curry is a nice and cosy place where you can hang out with friends for a meal. I would love to come back again next time to try out other varieties of curry.

I was here at Marina Bay Sands Convention Hall for Fide Fashion Week 2013. Thanks Andrew for the invitation (:
The runway looked so different from the usual fashion show that I went.
The design and decoration of the ballroom was inspired by the streets of New York, Lower East Side and Greenwich Village. The set features a close resemblance to the actual street in New York, with carpet grass, the iconic lamp posts and authentic shop fronts. Two rows of shops flank the runway, with rows of elegant Tiffany chairs on both sides for guests to sit during shows.
The schedule for today was men collection:
Burkman Bros.
Burkman Bros is a New York-based label by the creative partnership of Doug and Ben Burkman, 2 entrepreneurial Canadian brothers who launched the label in 2009. With their previous experience as designers at Gap Inc., they are experts at design skills and incorporating unique fabrics for their clothes.
Burkman Bros is a line of casual menswear that deftly marries rugged good looks with classic preppy styling. Their tailored fit and menswear pieces are influenced by their love for travels, making each season of their collection fresh and new.
The brothers are also known for their honest “if I wouldn’t wear it, I wouldn’t make it” approach to their designs.
The convention hall was crowded with many young girls. This is because Kwon Ji Yong aka G-Dragon will be performing live at Fashion Week 2013. Leader of the pop-sensation band, Big Bang was back in Singapore again for a solo act.
Right after Burkman Bros show was G Dragon's solo act, the ticket holders were then being brought into another hall for the showcase. Though my ticket couldn't admit into the hall, but I could hear him singing live as I was only one door apart. So near yet so far.
Though I couldn't watch Ji Yong performing live, I felt satisfied too watching his performance on screen and listening to his live singing.
G-Dragon is certainly one of Asia’s biggest young talent.
Described as the “most fashionable” member of his band, G-Dragon’s tight control on his image and artistry has won him praises. The fashionista’s role in influencing fashion trends in South Korea has made him the only man selected as one of the “50 Reasons Why Seoul is the Best City” by CNN. Equally compelling are his frequent changes of hairstyles and hair colour, which sparks off a fever amongst his fans and sets a new trend.
G Dragon had brought us a total of 5 songs during the showcase. I just love his extravagant dances and visuals.
It was a short half an hour performance. I was grooving along with his music, it was awesome. Ji Yong, please come back to Singapore again soon.
We went for an interval break before the next show commenced.
The next show was Uomo Collezioni.
Uomo Collezioni offers a wide range of ready to wear and made to measure collections of suits, leisurewear and hand crafted luxury accessories from premium European brands.
After Uomo Collezioni, I left for my dinner appointment. Felt a little wasted because G Dragon made a special appearance for the next fashion show, Surrender. Argh, I missed the chance of seeing him in person that day. So sad!!!! All the fashion shows were all push up an hour later than the schedule time. If they do start on time, I will definitely stay for Surrender. I was so hungry by the time Uomo Collezioni ended so I left. But anyway, I didn't know G Dragon will be gracing Surrender too.

Before Chriz Tong's concert, Christin and I met up early for dinner at Sushi Express. Thanks gal for being there early despite the heavy rain, by the time I reached, Christin was already the first in the queue. GF was late that day, so the two of us went ahead for our dinner first.
What I like about Sushi Express is that the price is affordable at $1.50 per plate and the food are freshly served on a conveyor belt.
One negative point is that there is a time slot given to us, we are only allowed 50 minutes dining time. So if you exceed the time given, extra charges might be imposed. GF managed to join us during the last 10 minutes and she finished as much plates as us.
This is nice, I had two plates of this.
Wish we had more time given to us, we have so much things to chat with one another. We then went over to Esplanade Recital Studio for Chriz Tong's unfinished concert.
Sitting at the studio and listening to the familiar songs was what that made the night great.
Chriz Tong’s unique vocals and talent was discovered at the 2005 Rhapsody Singing Contest. After which, She then went through a series of vocal training in a professional recording studio creating her own distinctive style of music.
Chriz had her first ever concert at the Esplanade Recital Studio, where she serenaded her audiences with the rendition of her popular TV drama series theme songs like “Kampong Ties”, “Truth, Virtue and Beauty” and “Coffee Love Song”, which brings back many memories of the drama.
The “Unfinished Concert” theme was inspired by her latest TV drama series, Love at Risk’s sub-theme song titled “An unfinished love song”. “Unfinished” refers to Chriz’s constant dedication and passion to sing more well-received songs for her fans and audiences.

Chriz had changed into another outfit and back on stage with guitar performance. Chriz was so humble to put a "P plate" on as she only started to play guitar 3 weeks ago. She felt that as a singer, she needs to pick up the skill of playing at least one instrument. I admired her determination.
Wow, her vocal is really good and impressive. Just the first song has already got me loving her voice and singing. Not only is she good at Mandarin songs, she is equally good at singing English song. She sang Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys that night too.

Just like most concerts, there is guest performer. Chriz had invited Peter Lao Shi, 陈彼得老师, as her guest performer. Both of them had collaborate and sing a duet song "愛你" for a TV drama serial theme song 砂锅肉骨茶.
This song is really nice and catchy. I like it when I first listen to it.

Chriz had brought us the drama theme song for Love Risk, 爱情风险, another nice song that I liked. But my favourite song of all is still the encore song, "啡情歌" from the drama 《96C咖啡.》
喝一口等待情绪蔓延
让味蕾停在感动的世界
且随时间经过
看爱情的视野
给风吹过多少寂寞
Thanks Chriz and her band for putting up a wonderful performance, the concert was a great success. Hope to hear more good music from Chriz again.

I had lunch over at Tiffany Café & Restaurant @ Furama City Centre. Currently, there is a 1-for-1 international buffet lunch and dinner. We decided to give it a try and it cost us about $30 each.
Tiffany Café & Restaurant served an International (Malay Kitchen) array. If you are looking for halal restaurant, Tiffany Café & Restaurant is one that you can consider.
Personally, I think that the selection of food is a little disappointing. There isn't much selection that I can choose for. I had walked a few rounds without knowing what to take.
I all the way aim for mash mallow and cookies for dessert.
They were irresistible, I had took 2 rounds of mash mallow and cookies. I did not take any cake because I was already feeling full. I just wanna had a sweet bite to end off my lunch.
