Head down to Raffles City this August for celebration and good cause.
In celebration of Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary and Singapore’s 53rd National Day, Raffles City is collaborating with The Walt Disney Company (Southeast Asia) to launch the first “Mickey Go Local” campaign in Singapore.
Good news for Mickey Mouse fans, time to make your way to Raffles City and have your camera snapping at the 90 pieces of 60-centimetre-tall Mickey Mouse figurines, decorated with creative and thoughtful designs by individuals from different walks of life.
The month-long campaign features a host of activities, including a public exhibition of 90 Mickey Mouse figurines designed in Singapore style by individuals, including President Halimah Yacob.
These uniquely Singapore Mickey Mouse figurines will be displayed at Raffles City from 1 – 29 August 2018.

Mickey Mouse reminds all of us the benefits of laughter, optimism and hope.
The iconic character will connect Singaporeans and tourists in a fun manner, providing more ways for people to celebrate with their favourite Disney character.
Raffles City showcased the unique expressions of our Singaporean way of life through Mickey Mouse for this year’s Arts in the City programme. This uniquely Singapore showcase is meaningful as we mark the nation’s 53rd birthday in August.”
Pay attention to each design because you might spot the figurines designed by our President Halimah Yacob; popular artistes such as JJ Lin, Nathan Hartono, Kit Chan, Felicia Chin, Li Nanxing and many more.
Designed by Kit Chan, the Mickey bears the melody of the song “Home” on his body. Because this is home, truly.
The 1960s kopitiam style of Mickey Mouse best represent our local heritage, showing the typical kopitiam scenes in the olden days of Singapore.
The very familiar Summon Auntie, the meter attendant who give parking fines to cars that are illegally parked. I love this design too.
Spotted Phua Chu Kang figurine too, so creative right?
Besides the figurines, Over 80 of these products including household items, fashion merchandise and accessories will debut at the “Mickey Go Local” pop-up store at Raffles City, and a larger range will be made available later at all major retailers.
There is also a very retro looking backdrop for photo opportunity.
Thanks for the photo.
