Food Review: The Nasi Lemak at 269 Queen Street

The coffee shop at 269 Queen Street (just a street across Bugis+ is a popular spot for lunch because they offer a variety of delicious and affordable meal. I have been to Bugis area for countless of times but this was my first time having my meal at the coffee shop.

We tried The Nasi Lemak (look for the signboard stall 10) which leave a deep impression in us. If you are familiar with Aliff Nasi Lemak from Serangoon Garden, then The Nasi Lemak will not be a stranger to you as they are the second outlet with recipe from Chef Firuz.

The signature nasi lemak set ($6) was filled with a plate of ingredients which includes egg, peanuts, ikan billis, chicken wing, otah and kuning fish served with basmati rice (healthier version of rice). Pair it with the sambal chilli to enhance the appetising level, I like that the sambal chilli was not too spicy and appeased my tolerance level.

Thanks GF for the photo.

We love the chicken wing that was fried till perfection with the crispy skin, it carried a good crunch upon bite, while the meat remained succulent and juicy.

Besides that, traditional curry puffs, Bergedil aka perkerdel kentang and fried tofu are also for sale.

The curry puffs are freshly made daily and make a good afternoon snack. A burst of flavours when the flaky and buttery skin revealed the potato and egg filling when bite.

More ingredients like fish cake, egg sambal and hotdog to go with our nasi lemak. All these ingredients combined made a filling and delicious meal.

The traditional, delicious and affordable pricing at The Nasi Lemak will be the reason why I will come back again, especially when I am in the vicinity.
