Orchard Hotel Singapore

A glimpse of the hotel lobby, the antique clock placed in the center of the lobby caught my eyes. The dark interior colours of black, grey and brown set the stylish ambience of the hotel.
We had our lunch at one of the restaurants, The Orchard Cafe, which serves a wide array of fresh seafood, Asian, Japanese, Western fare and buffet. We had Fried Calamari ($15++) for sharing and I had Carbonara ($18++) for my main course. The food was quite disappointing, the portion for calamari was very little and not worth the price paid. The carbonara on the other hand, I can't even taste the creaminess in the pasta and it tasted more like aglio olio to me.

Dining

We started off with Chicken Laksa Spring Roll which was filled with ingredients like shredded chicken, calamansi, chili padi and laksa leaf. I could feel the lightly infused laksa taste from the spring roll, indeed full of flavours.

A Day

As I wasn't feeling very hungry, I had Roasted Seabass with caramelized celeriac and lemon caper sauce where the portion was just nice for me. The caramelized celeriac and lemon caper sauce brought an acidic flavour to the tender seabass, tantalising my taste buds.

A Day

We eventually settled for Monster Curry because we spotted some empty seats in the restaurant unlike the other restaurants which has queue forming. Surprisingly, Chinatown Point is quite crowded today. I tried not to repeat the things that I have tried before, so I had Matcha Latte with Azuki ($4.50++). The difference between this and matcha latte is the addition of azuki and whipped cream.

I had Teriyaki Chicken Curry ($15.80++) which consists of boneless chicken thigh and omelette. It has been awhile since I last had Japanese curry rice. The spiciness of the curry added flavour to the plain rice and crispy teriyaki chicken.
