Happenings in September - Boon Teck's Farewell lunch + Premiere screening of Scorpion

Tuesday 9/9/14

天下无不散的宴席,大家有缘再会.

One of my lunch kakis, Boon Teck, is leaving our company so we treated him to Tung Lok Signatures for lunch during his second last week in office. This was my first time dining in TungLok Signatures.

TungLok Signatures offers a tantalising range of traditional Chinese cuisine, such as Cantonese, Shanghainese and Sichuan dishes with a dash of Modern creations.

I love the century egg porridge. It tasted more yummy and delicious.

Custard bun with creamy salted egg yolk. The custard bun has a slight crispy outer layer.

We had the char siew chee cheong fun (rice noodle roll).

Siew Mai, pork dumpling.

Xiao Long Bao is a must to order whenever I have dim sum

Har gow, another traditional Chinese dumpling.

Chiled Beancurd Pudding with Avocado toped with Ice-cream.
The bill was about $200 so each of us paid about $30++

Cravings for dim sum satisfied

Yet another exciting drama is airing on RTL CBS Entertainment HD channel. Keep a lookout for Scorpion.

SCORPION, inspired by a true story, is a high-octane drama about eccentric genius Walter O’Brien and his team of brilliant misfits who comprise the last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats of the modern age.

At the age of 13, Walter O’Brien has an IQ of 197.

Cast:
• Elyes Gabel (Walter)
• Katharine McPhee (Paige)
• Eddie Kaye Thomas (Toby) • Jadyn Wong (Happy)
• Ari Stidham (Sylvester)
• Robert Patrick (Cabe Gallo)

They operate as a think tank formed by Homeland Security solving the most mind-boggling national threats.

O’Brien’s “Scorpion” team includes Toby Curtis, an expert behaviorist who can read anyone; Happy Quinn, a mechanical prodigy; and Sylvester Dodd, a statistics guru.  Pooling their extensive technological knowledge to solve mind-boggling predicaments amazes federal agent Cabe Gallo, who shares a harrowing history with O’Brien.

However, while this socially awkward group is comfortable with each other’s humor and quirks, life outside their circle confounds them, so they rely on Paige Dineen, who has a young, gifted son, to translate the world for them.

We were back at The Screening Room to catch the first episode of Scorpion - Pilot, which is directed by Justin Lin of The Fast and the Furious. Totally excited for it.

Canape and wine to go along while watching the show.

The first episode was mind-blowing. The action-packed drama definitely keep me in suspense and wanting the story after that. I was already hooked up to the drama and can't wait to watch episode 2. I'm sure you will enjoy the show as much as I do.

Thanks RTL CBS Entertainment for the invitation, I enjoyed the show very much.

Scorpion premieres on September 23, Tuesday at 9:00pm on RTL CBS Entertainment HD, SingTel mio TV Ch 318 and StarHub TV Ch 509.

Under The Dome Season 2 Premiere Screening‏

The American science-fiction drama television series, Under The Dome, is back with a new season.

Under The Dome is based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel. It tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome.

It’s been two weeks since the dome descended upon the sleepy town of Chester’s Mill, whose inhabitants are still struggling to survive with resources running low as their search for answers to what the barrier is and where it came from continues.

We were privileged to be among the first to watch episode one of  Under The Dome Season 2.

Under The Dome S2 will premiere on RTL CBS Entertainment HD (Singtel mio TV Ch 318 & Starhub Ch 509) on September 3, Wednesday at 9:55pm.

The premiere screening was held at The Screening Room.

With the hosts of the event - Stephanie Carrington and Sonya Davison.

Before they started airing episode one, we watched a special recap episode of S1, Inside Chester’s Mill. It sum up all the highlight of S1 and it gave me a better understanding of what's going on in the drama. It felt like I have watched the whole of S1 in just 1 hour.

For those who did not watch S1 just like me, you can catch the special recap on August 27, Wednesday at 9:55pm on RTL CBS Entertainment HD, SingTel mioTV Ch 318 & StarHub Ch 509.

In the season premiere “Heads Will Roll”, Barbie’s fate lies in Big Jim’s hands, and the Dome presents a new threat when it becomes magnetized.

The town is suddenly under threat from the dome. A super-strong magnetic has struck the dome and the nightmare began.

On the other hand, Julia saved the life of a mysterious girl who may hold clues to origin of the Dome.

The storyline is fascinating and full of mystery, it has very good plot and I enjoyed watching it. But be prepare, the drama has many gruesome and bloody scenes, definitely not for weak heart. I admitted that I covered my eyes for some parts of the bloody scenes.

With survival hanging in the balance, can the residents of Chester’s Mill work together to protect their uncertain future?

Cast:
Mike Vogel (Dale "Barbie" Barbara)
Rachelle Lefevre (Julia Shumway)
Dean Norris (James "Big Jim" Rennie)
Eddie Cahill (Sam Verdreaux)
Alexander Koch (James "Junior" Rennie)
Nicholas Strong (Phil Bushey)
Colin Ford (Joe McAlister)
MacKenzie Lintz (Norrie Calvert-Hill)
Karla Crome (Rebecca Pine)
Aisha Hinds (Carolyn Hill)
Natalie Martinez (Deputy Linda Esquivel)
Britt Robertson (Angie McAlister)

Thank GF for bringing me to the premiere screening, I had a relaxing night at The Screening Room.

Do catch Under the Dome on RTL CBS Entertainment HD, SingTel mioTV Ch 318 & StarHub Ch 509.
