Happenings in December - Feelyn's First Month Celebration + Air Play (New York) + Solar Eclipse + Ramen Nagi

Sunday 1/12/19

Uncle and Aunt came to our house today together with 10 floor aunt. As they were all staying for dinner, we went out to our favourite zichar place for dinner.

We tried something different today instead of the usual Curry Fish Head - Sweet and Sour Fish. The sweet and sour combination made it an appetising dish to pair with our rice.

Another new dish we tried was Youtiao with Fish Paste. The fried youtiao was light and airy at the front, a satisfying dish to have.

Wednesday 4/12/19

Time for my mini product review session on recent beauty products that I am currently using.

I started using Goldwell Kerasilk Control Rich Protective Oil for unmanageable, unruly and frizzy hair because my hair is in need of treatment.

The hair oil is a leave in treatment to be applied on towel-dried or dry hair for a smooth and shiny finish. It helps to control and tame my frizzy hair. Furthermore, it adds shine to my dull looking hair and makes my hair appear softer upon touch. I also enjoyed the floral oriental scent of jasmine amd Damask rose that linger on my hair.

Saturday 14/12/19

Went to my uncle's house for my youngest niece, Feelyn, first month celebration. This time round, bro only invited the relatives over.

The buffet catering was ready by 5.30pm and we were ready to kickstart the dinner. It was a yummy spread with my favourite fried chicken wings, curry and bun.

Meet the star of the day - Feelyn.
Our family tree are growing bigger every year, new additions (babies and maids) to our next Chinese New Year gathering.

SF just got back from Taiwan and she got our family some goodies.
Year end is really the period where many of my families went traveling, I received many foodies from them.

The one that I was very interested to try was Bubble Milk Tea Cake. As a bubble tea lover, I am attracted by it. The bubble milk tea cake has the same texture as the pineapple tart from Taiwan, except that the paste is different.

Tuesday 17/12/19

姑姑 also came back from Taiwan last few days and got us some snacks too. 姑丈 enjoyed the trip very much and wish to travel to Taiwan again next year.

I met up with Tracy in the night for dinner and to watch the gala show of Air Play (New York). Knowing that I have not been out with friends for months, Tracy took this invite opportunity to ask me out and also to do our Christmas gift exchange.

New York’s Air Play combined the act of circus and street theatre performance art by two siblings, they transformed ordinary objects in our daily life like balloons, fabrics, umbrellas and confetti into uncommon beauty.

It was a very interactive performance with some interaction with audience. The children loved it so much and laughter can be heard whenever they came near to the audience.

The confetti turned  the dark night sky into one of the biggest snow globe. It left us feeling awe by the sight in front of us.

We enjoyed the one hour performance very much.

Sunday 22/12/19

Vivien's sis got us egg tarts from Tai Cheong Bakery and we love it very much. Thanks sis.

The egg tarts had a buttery crust with smooth egg custard sat on it. I like that the crust was not very fragile such that it will break when we hold the egg tart. The crust was crunchy to my liking.

With Christmas and year end season approaching, my year end is filled with gathering as we bid goodbye to 2019.

I met up with the girls on Christmas Eve after our work for ENCE Purple Christmas Party at their Raffles Place office.

After having the catered lunch, it was time for gift exchange. It was a very stressful gift exchange because your chosen gift might be snatched by others. I have gotten a teddy bear while Jasmine's Pikachu was snatched by the others and she got to choose another gift.

Thanks Tracy for the photo.
It has been quite awhile since I last met the girls (except for Tracy whom I just met last week), so happy to have a short gathering on Chirstmas Eve for the Chirstmas gift exchange.

Thursday 26/12/19

I met up with Mee Ing and Rachel for lunch at Aston. It  has been so long since I last had Aston. This time round, I opt for Chargilled Chicken with Potato Wedges and Onion Rings.

While walking around after lunch, we got to witness the rare annular solar eclipse on Boxing Day. The moon covered the sun's centre, leaving the sun's visible outer edges forming a ring around the moon.

This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many onlookers. There was one China tourist who asked me what we were all looking at.

After the lunch, I went for facial (I paid for my own). Now that age is catching up on me, it's time that I embark on monthly or quarterly facial session to clear my clogged pores.

Friday 27/12/19

December is the period where I rest well because it is also the period that I cleared my leave. Today was a rest day for me, I only went out in the evening to meet GF and Linda at Suntec City for dinner.

As Linda was craving for ramen, GF has recommended Ramen Naji located Suntec City Tower 2. The ramen chain is originated from Fukuoka, Japan and has more than 40 outlets all over the world. This was my first time trying.

I had the Original Butao King where the thick handcrafted noodles were paired with classic Nagi pork chashu in tonkotsu pork-broth. The flavourful soup complemented each mouthful of the noodles, it was full of punch.

After the dinner, we went to Burger King to chill. GF and I started our second round of eating with us sharing 9 pieces of nuggets.

Thanks Linda for the belated Christmas gift. Though we don't see each other very often, we will still meet up once in awhile to catch up and rant about our problems.

Sunday 29/12/19
Vivien's always got my family good food whenever she chanced upon something nice. This time round, she got us Kazo MSW durian cream puff. Thanks sis for always spoiling us with lots of good food.

Tuesday 31/12/19

I started off my new year eve with a hearty breakfast at The Coffee Bean @ Kallang Wave Mall. It was my first time trying their Salmon Brioche Eggs Ben which contains smoked salmon, egg, cheese, brioche, salad and cherry tomatoes.

I had Ice Tea to go with my meal, it was something I in need of to beat the stuffy heat as the aircon in the mall only operate at 10am.

We have come to the end of 2019. It was a year filled with good and bad moments, a year for growth where I am trying to find my direction in life and learning to become a better person, learning to stand up and walk after the fall. I still have not fully recover from it and I need time to heal the wound. The most depressing period has passed and I hope to be surrounded with more positive vibes in the new year ahead.

With that, I concluded my 2019 happenings.

Happenings in December - Long Christmas Weekend + Boxing Day

Saturday 23/12/17

The last 2 weeks of December is my favourite period of that month because we have long weekend for Christmas and New Year. It gave us an opportunity to meet up with family, loved ones and friends for festive celebration or a time to travel for short getaway.

Though Christmas is on Monday, we decided to celebrate it early on Saturday to avoid the crowds.

Festive season gives us an excuse to dress up for celebration. Besides that, it is also the time where we will buy gifts for each other. Decided to abandon my usual weekend casual outfit, I put on the black denim overall dress to boost my dressing. It was casual yet looked chic at the same time. I got this denim overall dress from JB.

Arriving at Clarke Quay in the early evening to soak ourselves in the chilling scenery ahead of us, sit back and relax while enjoying each other companion.

I brought bf to Blisshouse Theme Restaurant for dinner, it was his first time there.
We always like to explore new restaurants during special occasion to have a meal together, so I suggested this place.

Stepping into Blisshouse made me feel like I was in the garden wonderland with the greenery surrounded the interior of the restaurant, even pot of little plant was placed at individual table too.
It was a great chill out place and easily accessible from Clarke Quay station.

The ambience of the restaurant was pleasant and design was beautiful, it made us felt cozy and welcoming.

I ordered Fish and Chips ($12.90++).
The food was normal and the price was quite reasonable, so the price and the nice ambience made it up for the food served.

There was a swing placed with the wolf and rabbit plushie toys from Descendants of the Sun. I love all these cute decorations that provide more photo opportunity while dining.

My Christmas gift from him. I love it very much, definitely something that I will be using it soon because my skincare supply is running low.

Sunday 24/12/17

Today was Christmas Eve, didn't do anything special so we just went to Queensway Shopping Centre to have their Katong Laksa for dinner.

Still not feeling full from dinner, we went McDonald to try their Cheesy Loaded Fries with chicken bacon bits. For cheese fries, we still preferred the one from KFC.

I don't need a lavish celebration for Christmas Eve, just spending the day together having simple meal makes us feel happy too.

That's how I spent my Christmas Eve, Merry Christmas everyone.
Hope everyone has a bless one this year.

Tuesday 26/12/17

Happy Boxing Day. Began first day after Christmas with a dinner gathering with my poly peers. It's been so long since we last meet up. We met up at our regular hangout place at HarbourFront Centre.

We settled for Pasta Mania because Chan Lin wanted a place that has vegetarian menu in it. Pasta Mania is not a bad choice for us because the price does not come with 10% service charge. I have cream based pasta.

After the dinner, Chan Lin treated us to a drink at KOI. I opt for milk tea with pearls. Thanks Chan Lin for the treat.

We have a fun night laughing at our jokes and sharing never ending conversations. We wished the night could be longer, it was always a great night with these lovely friends. Let's have our next meetup soon with Christine who was unable to join us today.

Chinese New Year Eve + River Hongbao 2017

This year, Chinese New Year Eve falls on a Friday. It was a half day at work for the working adult. It was a busy day for my family too because my mum will be busy in the kitchen preparing for hosting today's dinner with my extended family.

Since the time was still early, bf and I went for a walk to spend quality time together at Sentosa.

There was a showcase of drums at Imbiah Station. It immediately sparked my interest and I went straight for it to play the lion dance drum beat. Not really a pro, but know a bit here and there.

At the foot of Merlion.
Here is a very nice place for photo taking, nice scenery and backdrop.

Causal wear out. I wore a lightweight top that was perfect for a day out in the sun.

With love.

Our relationship is definitely not love at first sight. It is through the endless communication that we got to understand each other better and form the chemistry. Being someone who don't find myself attractive and afraid of getting hurt, you give me the courage to love and accept this relationship.

Hate that we don't have a longer time to explore the area, my mum wanted me to be home at 6pm for dinner with my extended family. Time to bid goodbye and go home.

Look at our delicious dinner spread for 15 of us.

Play time with Amber after dinner.
She is turning 1 year old this year.

At about 9pm, we went over to floating platform for River Hongbao, a fun-filled extravaganza of lights, sights, sounds to celebrate this festival. River Hongbao is open to public and admission is free.

Went exploring around, looking at the displays.

财神爷, may you bless that 2017 will be a prosperous year for us. Huat ah!

I have my favourite twister potato with chili powder that I gotten at the outdoor Food Street. I never have it for so long, miss it so much.

Since there was still an hour of buffer time before the clock strike 12 and fireworks to welcome Chinese New Year, we went to our favourite hangout place to chill, sitting there and enjoying every cozy moment.

We found a good spot for fireworks just 5 minutes before 12.
Happy Chinese New Year.

The night was too young to return home early. We lingered around to enjoy the peace of the night for another hour in case the train station was packed with people heading home after the fireworks. I love public holiday with train hour extension. We don't need to worry about returning home late.
