Chinese New Year is approaching in just another week.
Chinese New Year is a major occasions in Chinese Culture. It is also the time where family and relatives come together for a gathering and to have reunion dinner together. Every year, what I look forward to is to have a good meal together with my family.
In 2013, let's usher the Year of the Snake @ PARKROYAL on Beach Road.
Located within Singapore’s central business district, PARKROYAL Beach Road offers a wide choice of culinary delights.
A new year brings hope, joy and delectable prosperity offerings!
Why not bring your family down to Plaza Brasserie for the Prosperity Buffet Feast to satisfy all cravings.
Diner can look forward to an elegance table setting and majestic interiors at Plaza Brasserie.
Let's line up to get into our dinner buffets featuring a variety of local, continental and Asian cuisine. Take your pick from Soft-Shell Crab, Sashimi Selection, Laksa, Tempura, Roti Prata and Cantonese Roast Meats and Stir-fried Vegetables.
At Chef’s live station, guests can look forward to the freshly steamed Red Garoupa Fish in Superior Stock available for dinner.
Yusheng is a must have in Chinese New Year.
To usher in the Year of the Snake, we will be tossing to Chef Jackson’s new creation of the Fruity Yu Sheng consisting of fresh tropical fruits like Mandarin Oranges, Peaches, Rose Apples, Rock Melon, Dried Persimmons, Green Mango and Papaya.
This new creation symbolises an abundance of wealth and a well-rounded life enhanced with Chef’s Special Fruit Flavoured Sauce.
Don't worry if you are not used to the new creation, traditional Yu Sheng will also be available.
The waitress went through the rituals before the toss. So whenever she poured an ingredient in, she would mutter an auspicious saying. For example, when the deep-fried golden crisps were being poured, the waitress would say "Pian di huang jin".
After every auspicious saying, we had to say "收到" to symbolize that we have acknowledge the good blessing.
And lou-hei began.
Huat ar!
Our end product.
Peng Chai is another auspicious dish savoured during Chinese New Year. It symbolizes prosperity and abundance.
Peng Chai is served with delicious ingredients such as Fish Maw, Prawns, Sea Cucumber, Sliced Abalone, Roast Duck, Chicken, Pork Cabbage and Black Moss.
A very delicious dish that is full of treasures in it.
The soup is rich and flavourful, indulge myself in the fresh seafood.
Savour the freshly steamed Red Garoupa Fish in Superior Stock served at the Prosperity Buffet.
The freshness of the steamed fish is the reason why everybody love this dish. The gravy sauce make it just perfect.
Are you drooling look at the sushi spread.
And we gonna attack the salmon.
Mouth-watering variety of deserts complete my meal.
I have tried their Chinese New Year goodies - Durian Nian Gao with Bak Kua.
It is yet another delectable dish that you cannot missed.
Nian Gao means "higher year" in English. It symbolizes raising oneself taller in each coming year.
I had a sumptuous Prosperity Buffet Feast at Plaza Brasserie.
