To The Fore (破风) Gala Premiere with Dante Lam and Choi Siwon

Director Dante Lam and Choi Siwon were in town to make an appearance for 'To The Fore' Gala Premiere in Singapore.

This is a movie that I have been wanting to watch ever since I watched the trailer because Choi Siwon and Eddie Peng are in the movie. Therefore, I was super elated when I know I won a pair of tickets to the gala premiere.

Met up with Tingwen for the movie.
Before the start of the movie, Director Dante Lam and Choi Siwon was at the gala premiere stage for promotional activities.

So happy to see Siwon again, he is one of my favourite male artist in Korea and my favourite member in Super Junior.

I was amazed by Siwon's ability to communicate with the fans in English and Mandarin through the fanmeet. The only korean word he used was annyeonghaseyo because the fans greeted him in korean. Impressive!

The casts really put in lots of efforts for the filming, they had to undergo a rigorous cycling and workout daily.

They had also travelled to many countries and cities for filming: Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, Shanghai and etc.

Siwon has promised that if the box office in Singapore is good, he will come back to Singapore again to pop the champagne with everyone.

Time for the movie after that.
To The Fore is Asia's first cycling- themed movie, It will take viewers to an exciting ride through adrenaline-packed cycling races mix of speed, endurance and tactics , heart-stopping crashes, that can leave one glued to the screen.

Rating: 4/5
Release date: 6/8/2015
Running time: 125 minutes

To The Fore is an action packed movie featuring cycling races, unlike the usual car racing. A sports-romance movie by Dante Lam that focuses on the friendships and love lives of four friends.

Representing Team Radiant, Ji won (Choi Siwon), Chou Ming (Eddie Peng) and Qiu Tian (Shawn Dou) entered a cycling competition.

Ji won is the sprinter of the team, known as 冲线手.  As the name suggested, he is always the one who will finish the race due to his ability to accelerate high speed. Sprinter is also the one who will be standing at the award ceremony platform to receive the trophy.

Chou Ming and Qiu Tian are the two lead-outs of the team, known as 破风手. They prevent the sprinter from being attacked by others and lead out sprinter for the dash in the last few hundred meter.

Due to financial issues, team Radiant was dismissed and each of them went over to join different teams. Ji-won, Chou Ming and Qiu Tian have become sprinter in their teams and create a competition against each other.

Another part I enjoyed is the romance between Chou Ming and Wang Shiyao (Wang Luodan). Shiyao is also a cyclist from a girl team. Both of them devleoped feelings for one another and went into a relationship. Feeling frustrated due to some issues, Chou Ming went drinking and was drunk. He then have one-night stand with someone else. Shiyao parted with him upon finding out. Chou Ming did a selfless act that touched Shiyao and they were together again.

Qiu Tian was having a torch for Shiyao too.
Aww, it's a love triangle.

This is really a movie worth watching. It is not only just on cycling competition, it is about friendship, love and passion for dream.

Dragon Blade (天将雄师) Gala Premiere in Singapore

Jackie Chan's latest movie, Dragon Blade (天将雄师), is a must watch movie during this Chinese New Year.

The main cast of Dragon Blade were here in Singapore to attend the gala premiere in Singapore as well as movie promotion activities. The casts attended includes Jackie Chan, John Cusack, Adrien Brody, Choi Siwon, Lin Peng and Wang Ruo Xin.

Before the movie, the casts will make an appearance outside Golden Village @ Vivocity.

Jean Danker was one of the host.

I was very disappointed during the fanmeet session.
There was no proper stage but a small platform for the casts to step on. As such, the people behind totally couldn't see the casts at all once all cameras were raised high up. This was the best shot I could get when tipping toes.

I'm so thankful to Christine who invited me along to Dragon Blade Gala Premiere where I got the opportunity to see Jackie Chan and Siwon in person. Jackie Chan is one of my favourite all-time movie star and Siwon is the first kpop male artiste that I like. Fangirl mode turned on.

From left to right: Adrien Brody, Choi Siwon, Wang Ruo Xin, Jackie Chan, John Cusack and Lin Peng.
The cast visited our theatre and shared with us some of their experiences during the filming.

Jackie shared with us that this is a big scale movie that took 7 years to make. It is about a story of the soldiers in Han Dynasty and Roman Empire, how they become friends from foe.

He told us that on the first day of filming, the Roman soldiers were very enthusiastic, wearing the armour and carrying the weapons under the hot sun. By the second day, they were all tired and having muscle ache. hahaha..

Aww, Siwon is so handsome. I can't stop snapping photos of him.

Hollywood star, John Cusack. He is very happy to have the opportunity to come China for filming with Jackie Chan.

Oops, is Jackie Chan looking at my direction?

Throughout the conversation, Siwon communicated with us using English and Chinese. He must have spent lots of effort learning it. Thumb up!

Adrien Brody is happy to work with Jackie Chan too.

Gosh, Siwon is looking at my direction. I'm going to faint. He is forever so dashing.
Love him to the max.

One last photo of Siwon before they left the theatre.

Cast: Jackie Chan, Adrien Brody, John Cusack and Choi Siwon
Director: Daniel Lee
Release Date: 19/2/2015
Running Time: 127 minutes

Synopsis

Huo An (Jackie Chan), the Commander of the Silk Road Protection Squad and his trusted subordinate Yin Po (Choi Si-won) lead a troop of soldiers to safeguard China’s borders and maintaining peace in an era of deep unrest in which Huns nomads roam the northwestern territory occupied by 36 warring nations.

Huo An meets the beautiful Cold Moon (Lin Peng) when resolving an ethnic dispute. She falls for him when he defeats her in a duet; but Huo An is committed to his troops and teacher wife Xiuqing (Mika Wang) on realizing his dreams of peace on the Silk Road. Just then, wrongfully accused of treason, Huo An and his men are sent as slave laborers to repair the city walls of Wild Geese Gate.

Huo An encounters Lucius (John Cusack) and his legion of Roman soldiers after taking temporary command of Wild Geese Gate. When a sandstorm approaches, out of compassion, Huo An opens the gates to give shelter to the Romans. In return, the Romans offer their construction expertise, using foreign techniques, to help finish the repair of the city wall before an impossible deadline.

Lucius and Huo An become trusted friends. The Roman legion had headed east, towards China, because Lucius was trying to protect the life of Publius, the son of a Roman consul, whose life was threatened by his brother Tiberius (Adrien Brody).

Power-hungry Tiberius had assassinated the consul and blinded his younger brother before the boy escaped with Lucius. Unknowingly, Lucius has fallen into Tiberius' trap. And an even bigger conspiracy, involving the fate of China, is in play.

I was so looking forward to seeing Siwon's acting, but was a little disappointed because his entire scene was less than 3 minutes. His acting was really good.

The message of maintaining peace came out strong. It is very heart warming to see people from different races and culture come together with a common goal and living in harmony. Another highlight to look out for is the action-packed scene. Jackie Chan never disappoint us with his amazing martial arts scenes.

It was a sad ending, with many killed in the war. This is why I hate war. Out of the 6 main cast, only 2 survived. Can you make a guess which 2 survive?

Gala Premiere of “My Lucky Star 《非常幸运》” with Wang Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi

I was back in Marina Bay Sands again on Friday evening for the Gala Premiere of "My Lucky Star". I was so excited about it because I will be seeing my idol Wang Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi gracing the red carpet.

At about 8.30pm, everyone had crowd around Skating Rink at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, waiting patiently for the appearance of Wang Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi.

While waiting, the theme song of "My Lucky Star" was being played. I immediately fall in love with this song. The song is really nice and sweet, I'm sure you will love it too.

The theme song 《爱一点》sang by Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi.

The host of the gala premiere was none other than Y.E.S. 93.3FM DJ, Xie Jia Fa.

Wang Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi were finally here at the red carpet ceremony. My goodness, the two of them were looking so stunning.

Lee Hom is so dashing, he was literally melting my heart.
Did I mention before, Lee Hom was actually my favourite male singer in mandarin pop music.

Lee Hom and Ziyi had shared about their memorable movie scenes when filming in Marina Bay Sands.

Lee Hom's memorable scene: Jumping down from level 57 KU DÉ TA.
Zhang Ziyi's memorable scene: The part where Lee Hom was swimming at Infinity Pool.

That night was also the first time Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi will be watching the movie.
I felt so privileged to have them with us.

After some shots taken, we were all ready to proceed to Mastercard Theatre for the movie.

The movie was held at Grand Theatre.
The casts and the director were out again for a speech before the start of the movie.

My Lucky Star 《非常幸运》

Casts: Wang Lee Hom, Zhang Ziyi, Ruby Lin and Yao Chen
Director: Dennie Gordon
Running time: 113 minutes
Release date: 19 September 2013

See trailer here.

Sophie is back and this time she’s going cosmo. From her stomping grounds in Beijing to tropical high-tech Singapore to the outback fishing villages of Hong Kong to a stunning gondola finale in the mazes of Venetian Macao’s canals, “My Lucky Star” is raising the bar on love and adventure in this new extravagant comedy.

Going nowhere in love and stuck in life as a lowly travel agent, Sophie finds escape in her own comic book creations. Winning the office contest for a prize trip to Singapore suddenly turns her life upside in the best way possible, as she meets there the man of her dreams: David, the handsome super-spy from her own comics.

Their dalliance takes place at the spectacular Marina Bay Sands SkyPark infinity pool, amid their search for the billion-dollar jewel, the “Lucky Star Diamond,” a gem capable of destroying the world, one country at a time.

The soryline is very interesting. Sophie always dreamed to become the girl in her comic book creations, her dream has become real when she won the grand prize  trip to Singapore and meet her prince charming, David.

Sophie then joined David on a mission to find and retrieve the stolen billion-dollar diamond. And their wonderful chemistry began.

You can also look forward to the fighting scenes because the action choreographer is none other than Jackie Chan. Remember to look out for some of the incredible action put up by Lee Hom.

Lee Hom is like perfect man in the movie, everything about him is flawless. He is so charming in every scene, who could resist the handsome spy agent.

I seriously enjoyed the movie to the max. The comedy part keeps us entertained, while the romance and action packed keep us in suspense. The movie is so nice that I would want to watch for a second time, hehe because I want to see Lee Hom again.
