It was a night of Abba songs filled with cheerful melody and awesome cast, the casts were very energetic and performed one song after another. It has lifted up my mood watching the musical, the experience of watching live musical is definitely difference from watching a movie.

They have many amazing dance moves and catchy songs. Some of the songs that got stuck in my head were "Dancing Queen" and "Money, money, money". Besides that, some of their conversations were hilarious too. The casts really did a good job.

I love the chemistry between Sky and Sophie. They are not just lovers in the musical, they are actually lovers in real life as well. That explains their amazing chemistry.

Review: Legally Blonde The Musical

Omigod, it's time. To. Go. Blonde! and Pink.

Ticket price starts from $65 to $195.

Sat: 2pm & 8pm
Sun: 1pm & 6pm

Steffi and I were feeling excited for the show. Today's meetup was also a catch up session for us, we have not seen each other for nearly 6 months.

Credits to Marina Bay Sands website.

Legally Blonde The Musical is based on the 2001 Box Office movie hit. It tells the story of a fashionista, Elle Woods, who is capable of doing anything she sets her mind to. She is dumped by her boyfriend, Warner, who wants a 'serious' relationship. Determined to win him back, Elle follows him to Harvard Law School to prove her seriousness. With the helps from new friends, Elle creates a name for herself and find her true love.

Legally Blonde is more than just a musical, it is a show with dialogue interaction and humour jokes. Legally Blonde The Musical, is definitely the must-see feel-good show of the season. I love their energetic performance, even the dog make a special appearance too. So adorable right?

Besides that, we get to see different shades of pink from Elle's wardrobe.

The most exciting part of the musical is definitely the courtroom scene where Elle managed to find clue with her instinct and the help of Emmett Richmond. They tried to test whether Nikos is straight or gay. This scene is so humorous with his gay partner turning up and bringing us the performance “European or Gay?”.

The upbeat songs and beautiful story line accompanied us throughout the 2 hours performance, leaving us feeling satisfied and warmth. It evoked many different feelings - happy, funny and sad.

At the end of the show, the cast came to bid us goodbye.
So thankful for the wonderful and entertaining show. We have a rocking good times at  Legally Blonde The Musical.

Legally Blonde The Musical is showing in Singapore until 20 May 2018, click here for more information and purchase of tickets.

We need some magical moments to light up our life because..... life is full of circus (circles). That's what makes me love watching circus.

Circus 1903 brought a huge cast displaying the most unique, amazing and dangerous circus acts from all over the world. The cast made up of strong men to contortionists, acrobats to musicians, high wire and many more.

The first performance brought us back to the setting of 1903 and wow-ed us with their amazing stunts using the wooden plank.

This performance got us adrenaline thrilling and cliffhanger, leaving us having cold sweat while watching his performance. It is definitely not easy to balance on the rolling barrel and he did a great job.

The performance from the aerialist really gave me goosebumps, she was so flexible to the extent that some stunts made me feel like I was watching horror show.

One of the highlights was definitely the sensational puppetry Elephants. The front view of the Elephant really looked so real till I have to take a second look to confirm.
Rest assured that no live animal were being brought to the stage, it's a very cruel thing to do to these animals, they are not train to be a puppet or mode of transport. That's why I always say no to animal riding.

This performance got the audience roared in laughter, his act was really entertaining and hearty.

Th high wire performance was amazing. Riding a bicycle on a wire was not an easy task, left alone using a pole to do a flip and balance in between the bicycle. My mouth was wide open when I watched this performance.

Circus 1903 is definitely not a show to be missed, the show is suitable for all ages and especially love by the kids. It was a great show with many chilling and entertaining performances. The casts have put in a lot of efforts in bringing us the perfect performance. Bring your family and loved ones to catch this show.

The Secret Jay Chou's Jukebox Musical Opening Night

A remarkable musical that follows the passionate story of Jay Chou’s iconic movie – THE SECRET is finally here in Singapore.

Being a fan of Jay Chou's this musical got me feeling thrilled and getting the best of both worlds -  watching the movie scenes and listening to the familiar songs of Jay Chou.

The Secret Jay Chou's Jukebox Musical is now showing in Singapore at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands, from now to 15 April 2018.

Ticket price starts from $48 to $148.

Showtime
Wed - Fri: 8pm
Sat: 2pm & 8pm
Sun: 1pm & 6pm

The Secret Musical is created by award-winning Broadway team featuring more than 20 famous songs of Jay Chou, creating a Jukebox Musical.

Watching Jay Chou's Jukebox Musical is like re-watching the movie. The Secret is an adaptation of Jay Chou's multi award-winning directorial debut, Secret.

As we watched the musical, we traveled back through time with a student in piano major, Ye Xianglun, and the beautiful and mysterious student, Lu Xiaoyu.

Fear not if you don't understand Chinese because there are digital screens at both sides of the stage with English surtitles during the show.

Xianglun and Xiaoyu first met each other in the piano room and a beautiful romantic love story unfolds as the secret that connects them is revealed.

This is a passion, friendship, love, family and youth filled musical not to be missed. Listening to all these songs made me want to sing along. Nothing beats listening to all the Jay Chou's songs that got me want to hit the replay button if there is.

The musical features these songs:
<<星晴>>
<<听妈妈的话>>
<<简单爱>>
<<爷爷泡的茶>>
<<屋顶>>
<<稻香>>
<<夜曲>>
<<晴天>>
<<蒲公英的约定>>
<<搁浅>>
<<牛仔很忙>>

The rooftop scene was my favourite scene. The place where they sang 屋顶 and share their first kiss.

The musical ended with a sweet ending.

The musical was light-hearted with some hilarious scenes included. There was never a boring moments and the sequential of the songs were all nicely arranged and meaningful. The songs were all deeply etched in my memory. The piano melody too was beautiful and touched my heart.

It was a great performance put up by the casts.
Great music, great casts and quality time spent create an unforgettable night for me.

The Secret Jay Chou's Jukebox Musical is now showing at MasterCard Theatres @ Marina Bay Sands until 15 April 2018. Click here for purchase of tickets.

The Sound of Music Opening Night

The legendary musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC has made a triumphant return to Singapore this November.

I was bursting with excitement upon receiving the invitation to watch the musical show. The Sound of Music is a show that I have been anticipating, I can't wait to reminisce all the familiar songs from 1965 movie.

The hills are alive, with the sound of music at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands. The show will be running from now to 3 December 2017.

Meet and greet with Singapore’s young actors and actresses who will take turn to play the coveted roles of six of the seven von Trapp children. These children will perform in rotation throughout the season as the small and cute Gretl, the brothers Friedrich and Kurt, as well as their sisters Marta, Brigitta, and Louisa.

Catching up with Linda on her Taiwan trip.
Thanks Linda for the photo.

The highly-acclaimed production comes from the home of West End musical theatre – the famous London Palladium.

The story took place in Austria where Maria, a nun-in-training, in an Abbey was being sent by Mother Abbess to the widowed Captain von Trapp's home and become the governess to the Captain's seven children.

With Maria coming into the family, she has changed the lives of the widowed Captain von Trapp and his seven children by re-introducing them to music.

The seven children are definitely the highlight of the musical. Other than the eldest child, Liesl, the remaining six children (Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta and Gretl) are played by Singapore's young talent. All of them did so well and very professionally. They were the stars of the night, amazed us with their vocal and act.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC touches the hearts of all ages and relives some of the most memorable songs including My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Edelweiss, The Lonely Goatherd, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and the title song The Sound of Music.

My favourite musical score is Do Re Mi.

Do-re-mi, do-re-mi
The first three notes just happen to be
Do-re-mi, do-re-mi

When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything

The musical ended with the family’s escape across the Austrian mountains as tensions rise prior to the outbreak of World War II.

The Sound of Music is a heart warming production that leave a deep impression in me. The legendary musical relives many familiar songs of the young and old. Watching the musical live is definitely different from watching the movie at home, it will make you want to sing along with them. Immerse yourself into the energetic performances through the whole musical.

Thanks for the great night, I truly enjoyed myself at the musical.

Catch the musical now at MasterCard Theatres @ Marina Bay Sands before the musical ended. Ticket price starts from $65 to $185. Click here for more information.

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye
Goodbye!

West Side Story Opening Night

West Side Story is now showing in Singapore to 30 September 2017.

The 'No.1 Greatest Musical of all Time' by The Times, UK, is here in Singapore with a vibrant new stage production of the classic dance musical. West Side Story is a musical inspired by Shakespeare's tumultuous love story Romeo and Juliet.

West Side Story transported us to New York back in 1950s with the vicious competition between the teenage gangs of white American and Puerto Rico. They never failed to get into the fight upon seeing each other.

Through the dance night, Tony and Maria met each other fell in love at first sight. A boy and a girl from two rival gangs. A love affair that everyone is against of and ended up apart. However, the two gangs solved their feud.

Linda and I enjoyed the show with their ground-breaking choreography, unforgettable score, passionate high-energy dance routines and astounding vocal range in such classic songs as Maria, Tonight, Somewhere, America and I Feel Pretty.

West Side Story packs a powerful punch, both dramatically and musically. It was very entertaining throughout especially the choreography and dance, leading us to understand the storyline.

Being a fan of romance, I enjoyed watching West Side Story that the storyline revolved around passion, teenagers, love and hatred. I am so thankful for the invitation.

Gala Premiere of “My Lucky Star 《非常幸运》” with Wang Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi

I was back in Marina Bay Sands again on Friday evening for the Gala Premiere of "My Lucky Star". I was so excited about it because I will be seeing my idol Wang Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi gracing the red carpet.

At about 8.30pm, everyone had crowd around Skating Rink at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, waiting patiently for the appearance of Wang Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi.

While waiting, the theme song of "My Lucky Star" was being played. I immediately fall in love with this song. The song is really nice and sweet, I'm sure you will love it too.

The theme song 《爱一点》sang by Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi.

The host of the gala premiere was none other than Y.E.S. 93.3FM DJ, Xie Jia Fa.

Wang Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi were finally here at the red carpet ceremony. My goodness, the two of them were looking so stunning.

Lee Hom is so dashing, he was literally melting my heart.
Did I mention before, Lee Hom was actually my favourite male singer in mandarin pop music.

Lee Hom and Ziyi had shared about their memorable movie scenes when filming in Marina Bay Sands.

Lee Hom's memorable scene: Jumping down from level 57 KU DÉ TA.
Zhang Ziyi's memorable scene: The part where Lee Hom was swimming at Infinity Pool.

That night was also the first time Lee Hom and Zhang Ziyi will be watching the movie.
I felt so privileged to have them with us.

After some shots taken, we were all ready to proceed to Mastercard Theatre for the movie.

The movie was held at Grand Theatre.
The casts and the director were out again for a speech before the start of the movie.

My Lucky Star 《非常幸运》

Casts: Wang Lee Hom, Zhang Ziyi, Ruby Lin and Yao Chen
Director: Dennie Gordon
Running time: 113 minutes
Release date: 19 September 2013
Genre: Comedy, Romance
My rating: 4/5

See trailer here.

Sophie is back and this time she’s going cosmo. From her stomping grounds in Beijing to tropical high-tech Singapore to the outback fishing villages of Hong Kong to a stunning gondola finale in the mazes of Venetian Macao’s canals, “My Lucky Star” is raising the bar on love and adventure in this new extravagant comedy.

Going nowhere in love and stuck in life as a lowly travel agent, Sophie finds escape in her own comic book creations. Winning the office contest for a prize trip to Singapore suddenly turns her life upside in the best way possible, as she meets there the man of her dreams: David, the handsome super-spy from her own comics.

Their dalliance takes place at the spectacular Marina Bay Sands SkyPark infinity pool, amid their search for the billion-dollar jewel, the “Lucky Star Diamond,” a gem capable of destroying the world, one country at a time.

The soryline is very interesting. Sophie always dreamed to become the girl in her comic book creations, her dream has become real when she won the grand prize  trip to Singapore and meet her prince charming, David.

Sophie then joined David on a mission to find and retrieve the stolen billion-dollar diamond. And their wonderful chemistry began.

You can also look forward to the fighting scenes because the action choreographer is none other than Jackie Chan. Remember to look out for some of the incredible action put up by Lee Hom.

Lee Hom is like perfect man in the movie, everything about him is flawless. He is so charming in every scene, who could resist the handsome spy agent.

I seriously enjoyed the movie to the max. The comedy part keeps us entertained, while the romance and action packed keep us in suspense. The movie is so nice that I would want to watch for a second time, hehe because I want to see Lee Hom again.
